Ethernia was once a powerful empire, it was also a pioneer in robot technology and airship travel, it may have seemed to anyone that nothing could bring down such a powerful nation, and yet here we find ourselves
It all started when emperor Xintos IV passed down a series of reforms that brought power away from the house of representatives into the hands of the rich elite such as the nobles and the emperor himself
The house of representatives, already having a hard time getting along with the emperor, fled into the second largest city and declared secession, supported by the lizard and furryfolk in the north, creating a new Presidential republic lead by the head of the house of representatives: Maximus Kintos
After the first year of fighting, the lizard and furryfolk in the north seceded themselves from the Republic created by the house of representatives, they created the Confederation of Independent States and after a brief confrontation, they established peaceful relations with the Republic, only targeting the Empire which still had influence on the north. They're ruled by a congress which has members from all races and the leader and founding mother is: Countess Axias of Serenum
In the eastern lands of the empire, past the Durrany river, the Durrany people (yes, what creativity) rebelled against the empire, creating a commune of their own, and although they have been displaced of their mainland, they remain an active fighting force in the civil war, fighting both the Republic and the Empire they are ruled by a council of generals, with none of them having enough power to call themselves leader
The empire is in a dire situation, their legitimacy struggles after several foreign countries recognized either the Republic or the commune, their situation got worse after the whole royal family got assassinated except for the young princess Galeana, which was too young to be coronated. Because of this, General Pontios, the most prominent general of the imperial forces took over, and not wanting to lose any power he extended the legal coronation age by two years, securing his power for the time being
In the southeast, the Union of the Avenum Sea, a military organization comprising various countries, has set up an occupation zone, it is small, but it's safe from all the conflict, it's safety has prompted it to be a place where hordes of refugees arrive at a daily basis

This world is a very technologically different one than the ours, although most advancements are similar to 1950's advancements, it differs because of two things, intelligent robotic pseudo-life, and the modernization and not at all abandonment of airships that did happen in our world
The robots are intelligent, there are different types of robots, such as battle robots, mechanic robots, and there are even robot manned aircraft (the latter being only used by the Confederation)
The airships have been advanced very deeply, in this world, there are war-airships that some are bigger than even normal boats, these bigger warships are made possible due to the invention of the repulsor, a device that allows bigger ships and cargo loads,. Because of the bigger cargo loads, airships are also a reliable option regarding trade
Some individuals that stand amongst the rest are:
General Pontios: the Regent and leader of the empire, he's authoritarian, very decisive and most of all, he's power hungry, he changed the legal coronation age for the princess to not be coronated. His race is: Elf
Princess Galeana: the young and charismatic princess, she was the only survivor of her dinasty after her whole family was assassinated during the battle of Exynos, she's young, charismatic, always puts the needs of the people in front of anything else, and most of all, she's very against the war. Her race is: elf
Maximus Kintos: President and leader of the Republic, he is charismatic and humble, he stands firmly for democracy, and has promised to stand down from power after the war ends. His race is: Human
Countess Axias of Serenum: the leader of the Confederation, she is stern, firm, she isn't one to be messed with, she was also part of an order of wizards in the empire before she broke away from them, and although she is very experienced with magic, she's more focused on leading her nation. Her race is: catfolk
General Suiz: a renowned general of the commune of Durrania, he's the only one that leads an actual army and not militias, having been nicknamed "the organizer" he strives for a more unified Durranian front His race is: Durranian
Admiral [???] They were the maximum head of authority within the army, even surpassing general Pontios, but they were presumed dead after their fleet disappeared in early stages of the war (before the royal family was assassinated)
Armies from the different factions:
The empire: the imperial army is one with a very big budget, which they use to have better equipment and an overall advantage over the other factions. Lately however, the imperial army lacks experienced officers and supplies have been cut off from the outside world, which has made them weaker
The republic: the republican army is a well organized force, with many of the most experienced and coherent officers of the empire defecting to them, although it doesn't have the budget of the imperial army, this doesn't allow them to gain significant territories in one battle, but they advance slowly
The confederacy: the Confederate army is one mainly comprised of robots, only high ranking officers and generals are organic beings, mainly beastfolk. Their army is on pair technologically with the imperial army, and their usage of robots has allowed the Confederate army to grow to a pretty sizeable level, although they don't have the budget of the imperial army, so their operations are pretty small
The Durranian commune: the army of the Durranian commune is mainly comprised of unorganized militias with a few actual military units, they hold onto a small territory, although they make operations mainly behind enemy lines in guerrilla warfare

They're ruled by a congress which has members from all races and the leader and founding mother is: Countess Axias of Serenum
In the eastern lands of the empire, past the Durrany river, the Durrany people (yes, what creativity) rebelled against the empire, creating a commune of their own, and although they have been displaced of their mainland, they remain an active fighting force in the civil war, fighting both the Republic and the Empire they are ruled by a council of generals, with none of them having enough power to call themselves leader, they also don't have a dedicated capital, being that they hope to return to their lands of origin and return to their former biggest city: Durrania. They only control three big cities, none of which are majority Durranians, and those cities are: Sithopoli (medium sized port), Procopoli (centered in communist territory) and Cripoli (in the Frontline of the commune)

The empire is a proto-fascist regime, they are very racist towards anyone who's not an elven, and although their military capabilities are dwindling, they're still the faction with the most territory. Key cities are: the capital Corian, the enclave of Cateropolis (surrounded by the Confederation), the enclave of Valeropolis (surrounded by the Confederation and the republic), the city of Dhurria (in the core of the empire, west of the capital and currently under assault by republic forces), the enclave of Quintopolis (surrounded by the Confederation), and the Threpoli division (fully encircled by the republic)

Ethernia, the once grand empire, the land of the valiant, a very sacred land for the elves now finds itself in a seemingly never ending internal conflict, it has been already 3 years since the house of representatives declared secession, and there is seemingly no winner in sight, the fronts go back and forth, and while the empire loses ground everyday, it is far too slow to see and end to it
Take your persona into any city you want, have adventures, be the one individual it's needed to put an end to this grueling and never ending conflict, but first let's start with a very important question...
Who are you?
in the main front, shells rained down every day, entire villages and towns had been leveled, entire forests had been destroyed by any sides to give advantage, the people struggled to even get something to eat in days, but there was still hope, hope that this war would soon end, hope for liberty, hope for freedom, hope for justice, and overall, hope for a better Eternia
In said front, there was a young soldier, an imperial one, he had joined the military because it promised glory and now, all huddled up in a trench, he knew that promised glory was nothing more than death
