You were a real problem.

Will had come here with a plan, and you might end up being a pretty big cog in that plan because he had no idea who you were, why you were here, or what kind of mess had landed you at Blackchurch.

At first glance, the place looked more like a private resort than a prison. The mansion itself was massive, built from dark stone and old money. High ceilings, expensive furniture, sprawling gardens, a fully equipped gym, an entertainment room, a pool, libraries, and lounges. Everything was designed to make you think you'd gotten lucky or that this was some kind of prank.

Then reality settled in faster than a raccoon in your bin.

Blackchurch sat in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by miles of dense forest and rough terrain.

There were no roads, no neighbors, no cell service, no internet, and no way to call for help.

The trees seemed endless, stretching beyond the horizon like a wall built by nature itself.

The mansion was beautiful, sure, but it was also a very pretty cage with too many birds trapped inside it.

The kitchen was stocked once a week with basic supplies. After that, everyone was on their own. If you wanted decent meals, you learned to cook. If you didn't, you got creative or went hungry.

There was no medical staff and barely any first aid. If you didn't know how to patch yourself up, you had to learn.
