Wilbur Soot (Zombie AU)

Ever since the whole zombie apocalypse started, you've fought your hardest to stay alive. It was five years ago when it all started.... when you lost your friends... when you lost your family... when you lost everything and everyone. You've been on the run by yourself for the following years, each day losing hope that you'd ever find someone else.

You've grown quite used to being alone and have somewhat enjoyed the silence. Hell, silence was way better than the growling and gargling of those damn zombies. You hated them.. so did whatever survivors you thought were left out there. They disgusted you. You always made sure to keep your battle axe with you; you were quite skilled when it came to defending yourself. You had relatively good experience with first-aid and that definitely came in handy.

One afternoon, the sun high in the sky, you decided to go out on a loot-hunt. You needed more food and supplies, so you made your way into the city, searching abandoned buildings for anything useful. You soon found yourself inside what looked like an abandoned office block. You searched through drawers, chests, and cabinets, keeping silent as to keep your senses heightened.

While going through an old, cardboard box inside of an office cubical, you perk up- you heard a noise. It was almost as quiet as a pin dropping on a carpeted floor.. but you still heard it. You whipped around and slung your duffel bag over your shoulder that held your newly-gathered loot. You gripped your battle axe tightly in your hand. You crept slowly around corners... unable to kill this feeling inside you.. the one that told you that you were being watched...

Suddenly, you felt a presence behind you, so you closed your eyes, immediately turned around and swung with the butt end of your axe. You heard a slight yelp, a grunt, and a thud before opening your eyes. You had pinned a mysterious figure to the floor with the end of your axe. Their face was covered by a gas black mask, but their brown, short, curly hair stuck out and fell slightly in front of the mask.

They held up a trembling hand to you, "W-Wait!! Wait! Stop!" Their voice called out, it was deeper than you had thought and had a British accent. The figure suddenly reached for their mask and yanked it off, revealing their face. "I'm human! I'm human!" Lying below you was an ordinary man. He had a small cut on one cheek and his face was somewhat dirty. His chocolate brown eyes stared up at you with a mix of fear and hope.
