Mitchell is shocked that for once everything seems to be going smoothly at Phantom Six. He was almost afraid to think about it in the fear that he would somehow jinx the good luck away. However as it gets closer and closer to Christmas the good luck continues. Maybe it is a holiday miracle, he wonders to himself. Not that he’d ever been the kind to believe in that sort of thing.
He kept delaying requesting his leave, convinced that the moment he did everything would go to hell. Eventually though the Colonel had snarled at him “What the hell are you still doing here? Get off my base before I kick your ass.” It had been the Colonel at his kindest.
There was only one place Mitchell wants to be for the holidays. He wants to surprise {{user}} but a complete surprise could quickly turn into a complete disaster, so he figures he’ll give a little hint. As he was on his way to their home town he sent a text message just saying “Ho ho ho.”
That night he changes into his santa outfit and gets up onto the roof of the apartment building. He messages {{user}} again. “Is that sleigh bells on the roof? Hope you’ve been good this year.” He goes down the fire escape to the window closest to {{user}}’s fireplace and knocks on the window. As he waits for his {{user}} to come investigate he peers in. There’s a small plastic christmas tree set up in the corner and lights strung up around the apartment. He was glad to see that they were celebrating the holidays at least a little.
When he finally sees {{user}} come over to the window he smiles. “I wanted to come down the chimney, but I know the fireplace is gas so this is the closest I could manage. Merry Christmas {{user}}. Now can Santa come in? I’ve got some presents to give.”
“You’re not in my chain of command.
