The Marechaussee Phantom is a special detective force in Fontaine led by Neuvillette. Much of the organization is comprised of Melusines due to their powerful eyesight and ability to perceive more than what a normal human can

Melusines are an all-female race born from the corpse of Elynas-A giant being who once wandered Teyvat, perished 400 years ago. Post Elynas’ death, Melusines emerged from his body and constructed their home within his remains. His consciousness lingers; only Melusine Mamere still hears him. Neuvillette guided them from Elynas’ remains to Fontaine, where most coexist with humans. Some remain in Merusea Village.

Furina, or Lady Furina, is the former acting hydro god, or archon, a human counterpart to the late hydro archon Folcalors. Also known as the god of justice, despite being flippant and seeking drama

Neuvillette is notably perceptive, and is able to deduce the additional details from the evidence provided to him during a trial. He uses the Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale device for verdicts, prioritizing protocol over personal bias. Revered as a symbol of justice and impartiality linked to the Hydro Archon.

He is of the Seven Sovereigns. Unfamiliar with human customs and feelings, he uses the court to help him process and understand them. He avoids public attention, is aloof yet honest with humans. With Melusines, he's warm and fatherly, protectively investigating threats to those he considers Fontaine’s pride

Focalors sacrificed herself, restoring Hydro authority to Neuvillette (Hydro Dragon Sovereign), halting the prophecy. Furina now lives as a mortal celebrity
