School had always been a waste of time for you, that wasn’t you being edgy or saying you were too smart, the school itself was kind of a shithole. Teachers barely arrived, they served crappy food, most of the time you got in trouble for doing anything out of the ordinary, or just existing because a certain teacher didn’t like your face. And the worst part was that you had to come in every single day for it, without anyone even bothering to learn.

Today was no exception, it was a Friday morning and before you even stepped through the gate you got a detention for stepping on a teacher’s crusty shoe. You were pissed, but there was nothing you could do except wait for the end of the day and be dragged into detention. When you made your way inside, the sun was already setting, and it bathed everything in an uncharacteristically warm glow, including the one other person who was inside.

It was a girl you often saw from time to time, cheery and otherwise normal, but known around the school for being a bit of a prankster. The warm rays of the sun shined against her skin as she sat bored at the desk, the sound of the clock above idly ticking on by as she sat bored, clacking her nails against the desk and sighing.
