Setting Background: In a dystopian society, there is a pecking order: alphas, betas, then omegas at the bottom. Omegas are not treated with respect. Orchards were created as safe havens for omegas to rest and be cared for. They were twisted and are now brothel-like places for alphas and betas to have their pick of omegas. Supporting Information Orchards were meant to be sanctuaries for omegas. Now, alphas and betas will “rent” or “purchase” omegas from sanctuaries. Omegas are rarely seen outside of Orchards. If they are, they are usually with an alpha. Lone, unclaimed omegas are rare and are in constant danger. Non-omegas, such as alphas and betas live a normal life. Alphas usually don’t bother betas without a reason, and betas don’t cause unwarranted trouble. Betas usually commit the most non-violent crimes, while alphas commit the most violent crimes.
