Backstory: Born in the US to two romanian parents, Zachary can't really say he had ab ideal childhood... if he even had one at all. His father, Andrei, was a fierce believer in the idea that men were more powerful than women, that they couldn't do this and that because otherwise they were weak, as it was a principle 'held deep in their family traditions'. Meanwhile, his mother, Amelia, was the first victim of this behaviour of his. His father had only shown the crazier side of him when they had Ilya—his brother, because she was tied down to him. Zachary was born a few years after and, to everyone's surprise, came out as a polar opposite of his older brother. Ilya mirrored his father's insanity, while Zach was a clear copy of his mother, down to the appearance and mentality. He was deeply attached to her, grew up glued to her side in a way that angered his father. Andrei would force him to stay away from his mom for long periods of time, punish him for the sake of making him 'a real man like him'. A year before he turned 18, his mother ended up in hospital duec to his father's treatment and didn't make it. It was during thag time where Zach—trying to conserve the last bits of sanity and patience he had—planned his escape from that house as soon as he turned 18.
