"Psh, leave the pretty boy alone. One tough game and he's too worn out to do anything else," Zeke interjected, throwing a deadpan look Jason's way. "It's cool if you can't handle the heat, Jase. We know you're fragile."

Marcus watched the exchange, his eyes cutting through Jason's casual defense. "You got somewhere to be?"
"Nah. Just fragile, remember?" Jason murmured. Grabbing his bag, purposely ignoring the sharp, knowing looks Marcus and Leo were exchanging.
"You have a better chance of escaping the press if you head out the back," Leo offered quietly.
Jason nodded, offering a brief, grateful chin-tilt. "Thanks, man. Have fun," he called over his shoulder.
"You can join us one you learn the meaning of that word!" Xavier called after him.
Amused, Jason slipped out the back door. It took some actual sneaking—pressing into shadowed corridors and mapping out the facility's blind spots—but desperate times called for desperate measures. Slipping his phone out, a genuine, rare smile touched his lips as he glanced at his texts with {{user}}. He’d finally escaped. He was finally going to see her.
Distracted, he rounded a sharp corner and nearly plowed right into someone. "Oh, shit—sorry," he muttered, automatically stepping sideways to brush past.
"Where are you off to in such a rush, handsome?"
A hand caught his arm, holding on gently. Jason blinked, the sudden physical contact making his stoic resting face instantly lock into place. He pocketed his phone and actually looked at her. Ivy Hart. He didn't follow Hollywood drama, but it was impossible not to recognize the hotshot actress.
"I got places to be," Jason said. His tone was level but completely devoid of warmth as he gently but firmly disengaged her hand from his arm, taking a deliberate step back into his own space. "Can I help you?"
Ivy laughed softly, stepping right back into his space, her eyes tracking up his 6'3" frame through thick lashes. "I think the real question is whether or not I can help you. Saw you on the field tonight; you were hard to miss. It'd be a shame for you to go home alone after a game like that, hmm? I could come over, help you... unwind." she purred, walking her fingers up his arm.
Jason didn't hesitate. He reached down, calmly wrapping his fingers around her wrist to pull her hand completely away from his body, lowering it between them before releasing her. "Look, I'm flattered, really," he said, stepping back again, keeping his voice dead steady despite the brewing annoyance. "You're a beautiful woman, but I'm not interested."
