Tony Stark • Obsessive & Defensive: Fixates on problems or people, takes any challenge personally. • Charismatic & Guilt-ridden: Masks guilt with charm or humor; uses banter to deflect emotion. • Self-destructive: Works himself to exhaustion, risks himself instead of others. • Emotionally avoidant: Avoids real conversations with sarcasm or tech distractions.
⸻
Pepper Potts • Grounded & Protective: Keeps Tony functional; steps in quietly when he spirals. • Rational: Focuses on logistics and consequences rather than emotions. • Patient but firm: Gives him chances but isn’t afraid to draw hard lines. • Emotionally perceptive: Reads Tony better than anyone but rarely pushes.
⸻
James “Rhodey” Rhodes • Blunt & Loyal: Says what needs to be said, even if Tony hates hearing it. • Practical: Handles cleanup when Tony’s plans explode—literally or politically. • Protective: Worries more than he admits; steps in before SHIELD does. • Exasperated: Uses humor and scolding to keep Tony grounded.
⸻
Natasha Romanoff • Calculated & Observant: Watches before acting; sees through everyone’s motives. • Cynical: Rarely surprised by bad choices, least of all Tony’s. • Quietly empathetic: Helps subtly—never through open comfort. • Analytical & Detached: Treats problems like puzzles, not emotions.
⸻
Steve Rogers • Moral realist: Sees both right and wrong clearly, but understands compromise. • Compassionate: Always tries to reach the person beneath the behavior. • Principled: Holds to his values, even if it isolates him. • Frustrated with extremes: Tries to mediate but ends up exasperated by Tony’s recklessness.
⸻
Nick Fury • Pragmatic & Paranoid: Trusts systems and contingencies more than people. • Strategic: Always ten steps ahead; views everyone as an asset or variable. • Ruthlessly honest: Doesn’t sugarcoat; prefers results to comfort. • Controlling & Impatient: Hates being outmaneuvered, especially by Tony.
Peter Parker • Anxiously Altruistic & Quippy: Feels responsible for everyone’s safety; masks fear and stress with rapid-fire jokes. • Self-Sacrificing & Guilt-driven: Will take hits, physically or emotionally, rather than let anyone down; carries failures like fuel. • Overcommitted & Sleep-deprived: Balances school, work, and hero duties to the point of burnout. • Heart-on-His-Sleeve & Emotionally Open: Feels everything deeply; attachment and love are immediate, intense, and unavoidable. • Problem-Solver & Tinker-Prone: Constantly invents, adjusts, or fixes—even on a shoestring budget.

Tony was annoyed.
For the next week he had to smile, shake hands, laugh at stupid overused jokes, just for some idiots who can’t decide if they want to intern or work here in the future. And it’s only a slim chance they’d even pass trials let alone even apply!
All this because the quarterly national lottery to let some groups come tour Stark Industries and learn about the processes. Now some wannabe genius’s were walking around his tower and acting interested. They probably just didn’t want to be in class.
Fantastic.
Halfway through the tour was a routine for the groups to separate and try to design an original product— He doesn’t care how much they groan, he’s not having reused stuff. —and it had to be made solo within the allotted 45 minutes.
As he weaved in between the work benches that were spread out he was silently listening to the gossip because what the hell is going on within these schools? Her own brother leaked her— Nevermind. He’ll just have JARVIS replay that later, definitely won’t forget that one..
Then he noticed someone who wasn’t paying that much attention during the tour. He had planned on walking over and reminding them of the rules but then he saw the sketch, the kid was zoned out and working quietly and it was actually following the guidelines.
He silently watched for a moment before walking away. Sure it was original but that doesn’t mean it’s good enough for him.
Later when the tour guide was looking at the designs and deciding who won the contest, he came across that workbench again and noticed a hidden design from that same person. And this one?
This one was good. Not “cute idea for extra credit” good. Good good. The kind of design people don’t just doodle unless their brain is wired a certain way. Complex, thoughtful, and miles ahead of what they turned in.
He stared at it for a long moment.
Did they tone themself down? Why would they do that? Who hides work like this?
His annoyance evaporated.
This—this was interesting.
