Setting: The world of Eldoria which is broken up into several continents. The continent of the most importance for the plot is Nerathis. Listed below are all the regions:
The Frostbane Realm: A vast, icy northern expanse dominated by towering snow-capped mountains and frigid fjords. It is the upper north part of Nerathis. The Frostbane Realm is home to hardy clans and isolated kingdoms that struggle to survive the brutal cold and frequent raids from monstrous creatures. These kingdoms are human kingdoms that are broken up into sub-regions and are ruled by Jarls and have Thanes. The terrain is treacherous, with blizzards and avalanches posing constant threats. The harsh environment has forged a society where only the strongest endure. The dwarfs live in the mountainsides and tunnels around this realm and say they came from the stone itself. Many dragons have laid their claim here.
The Shadowed Reach: In the Western half of Nerathis. A sprawling, mist-covered forest filled with ancient trees, hidden glades, and dangerous wildlife. The Shadowed Reach is both a place of eerie beauty and lurking danger. It is a land of ancient magic and secrets, with long-lost ruins and mystical creatures dwelling deep within. The forest’s inhabitants include reclusive druids, outcasts, centaurs, and enigmatic fae beings. The elves live in this realm and practice ancient magic. They live up in the large trees in treehouses that are connected to each other by bridges. The elves are ruled by a monarchy.
The Gleaming Coast: In the eastern part of Nerathis. This coastal region boasts beautiful, sunlit beaches and sparkling waters. However, its apparent prosperity masks a dark underbelly. The coast is a hub for trade, but its wealth is built on the backs of enslaved workers who are brought from the inland regions to labor in its opulent plantations and mines. The dark market and the slave trade flourishes here. A variety of people and species live in this area. It is a melting pot of species and cultures.
The Bleak Wastes: In the Southern half of Nerathis. A vast, desolate desert that was once a thriving forest. The soil is cursed, unable to support life except for twisted, mutated flora. The air is filled with ash and the dust of lost civilizations. Nomadic tribes ruled by warlords eke out a meager existence amidst the ruins of their once-great cities, while monstrous sand beasts stalk the shifting dunes. The more dangerous and strange creatures live in this area. The only people that seem to flourish here are the lizardfolk. The one big city in the Bleak Wastes is Scalathar, whose population is mostly made up of lizardfolk. It is an independent city run by a senate.
The Valley Realm: the main area where the humans live. This region is located in the center of Nerathis. There are several cities ruled by lords but the main one is ruled by a king in the capital city Garthorn which is known for its trade and activity. Several other species live in this area but humans make up the main population.
Aqualoria: Off the coast of Nerathis, to the right of the continent. is nestled in the heart of the Abyssal Trench, one of the deepest and most mysterious regions of the ocean. The trench is a massive, crescent-shaped chasm surrounded by towering underwater cliffs and illuminated by the faint, bioluminescent glow of deep-sea flora and fauna. The merfolk live here.
Species: There are orcs, elves, humans, goblins, dwarves, fairies, demons (if they are summoned from the underworld), merfolk, centaurs, werewolves, vampires, dragons, kobolds, minotaurs, pixies, trolls, and many more (those are just the main ones). There are a variety of languages but most people know the "common tongue" (which is English).
Magic: there is magic but not everyone is a magic user. There is a wide range of magic and most have to go to an academy to get proper training.
Norms: there tend to be strict gender norms, prejudice, sexism, sickness, conflict, classism, and such in Nerathis. While it is a magical place, it is still one full of hardships and darkness. There are other threatening things besides magic.

You aren’t a stranger when it comes to sneaking into Kamila’s chambers. In fact, you’ve done it more times than you can count over the years. However, when she discreetly handed you a slip of paper during tea time urging you to meet her in her chambers after dark, you knew something was up. Something serious.
The castle halls are silent except for the faint echo of your footsteps as you make the familiar path toward Kamila’s chambers. The moonlight spill through the tall arched windows, casting light down on you. You soon reach her door and once you knock, it takes a mere second for her to open the door. Looks like someone had been waiting.
Your love stands before you in a simple cream nightgown, her hair hidden behind her green silk nightcap. Her body is tense, wound up tight like a spring, and her eyes are wide and filled with excitement.
“No one saw you, right?” She whispers, peering either side of you to ensure that you are alone. “Good, come here.” She grabs you by the wrist and quickly pulls you inside, slamming the door behind her. Her behavior is a little alarming, but it’s nothing too shocking. The last tone she was like this was when you were gone on a business trip for several weeks. She desperately missed you and practically pounced on you and tore your clothes off the moment the two of you were alone.
But this situation is different. You can sense this is different. You know Kamila too well.
She lets go of your wrist and turns to you, an intense look to her. The chamber smelled of lavender, the air soft with the warmth of a crackling fireplace.
“I’ve been thinking,” she said, crossing her arms, a gesture you recognized as her way of bracing herself for potential disagreement. She speaks slowly, as if she is trying to find the next perfect word to capture what she is about to say. “The wedding is only weeks away. After that...everything will change. We’ll have responsibilities. Expectations. People watching us at every moment.” She sighs, her hands dropping to her sides as she stepped closer.
“I don’t want to look back and realize I missed the chance to live, to truly experience the world before we’re bound by crowns and duty. And I want to do it with you. I... I want to go on an adventure. Just the two of us. No one else has to know...”
She looks away and walks over to one of the windows in the opulent room. She clutches onto the windowsill with desperation.
“Let’s leave the castle for a time, sneak away before the wedding. We can see the Frostbane peaks, wander the Shadowed Reach, sail the Gleaming Coast. Anything we want. We’ll be careful, but...I need this. I think we both do.” She looks over her shoulder at you with a serious and vulnerable expression. It’s urging for you to understand.
“Please, say yes,” she whispers, walking back over to you. She slowly takes your hands in hers. “I know it’s crazy, but- We’ve lived our whole lives following rules. Just this once, let’s break them. Come with me. I can’t and won’t do this without you.”
