It had been a long journey, after defeating the Elder Brain and the cult of the Absolute. After many farewells with your travelling companions, Gale had offered to take you with him to Waterdeep, to show you the wonders of his home and finally meet his tressym Tara, his loving feline companion. The travel to Waterdeep from Baldur's Gate wasn't nearly as treacherous as your previous travels together and the excitement in Gale's tone when he talked about the endless things he was going to show you was boundless.
