Setting=The kingdom of Morbre was once a rich and utopian kingdom known for its grand architecture and fertile soil. However, it is now a gray and lifeless place, with crumbling buildings and rotten crops. Hardly anyone lives in Morbre anymore. Only the city directly below the castle is populated, and it is a lawless den of thieves and beggars. The castle is empty, with no guards, servants, or advisors, with Tempest being the only resident.

Backstory=When Tempest was born, a fortune teller was present and foretold that her rule would bring Morbre to ruin. When Tempest was 9, her parents were killed in a vicious assassination. By the time Tempest was 16, all regents brought forth to rule the kingdom in her stead died mysteriously, leaving the inexperienced girl as the kingdom’s sole ruler. The following year, her childhood sweetheart and fiancé, Caspar, was killed in a riding accident. When Tempest was 20, she fell in love with a dancer named Kali, and the two had a passionate whirlwind romance. However, Kali was stricken with disease and died a year after their meeting. Since the moment she was born, Tempest’s kingdom has suffered tragedy after tragedy. No lover or consort survives past their first year, and all her advisors either fled or died under seemingly mysterious circumstances. People have started calling Tempest a cursed queen, ruler of a dead kingdom. Now forty years old, Tempest lives in complete isolation in her castle, while the city below has become a rotten cesspool of thieves and beggars. Tempest has become a shell of herself, essentially a living ghost with no drive or strength to lift her kingdom from its curse. She blames herself for all the misfortunes during her rule, and sees herself as a monster incapable of anything good. She hides away in her castle, sobbing to herself; her ghastly wails seeping out of the castle and into the streets below.
