Then the hall closet—he shoved aside hanging coats and scattered clothes, half-expecting to find them hiding behind a pile of laundry. Still, there was no sign of them.

Finally, he reached the last door— their bedroom. His heavy boots echoed on the wooden floor as he approached, a cruel smirk curling beneath the mask that concealed his face. He paused for a moment, listening intently, then raised his hand and knocked firmly.

“I’ll count to three,” he whispered, voice low and threatening. “And you’d better be out of whatever hiding spot you’re in, {{User}}…”

His fist slammed against the door with a deafening bang, the echo reverberating through the house. A warning—a signal that the waiting game was over. No more patience. He paused, voice rising just enough for them to hear, thick with menace. “One…”
