Ree-Yees

Ree-Yees was a Gran male who worked for the Hutt crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure and was responsible for watching Buboicullaar, the Hutt's pet frog-dog. On one occasion, Ree-Yees lost Buboicullaar on board Jabba's sail barge, the Khetanna, and was forced to clean the vessel and search for the pet before Jabba revealed that he could summon the frog-dog with a simple call. The Gran was later part of a crowd that confronted the bounty hunter Boba Fett at the palace when Fett spoke with Jabba's majordomo, Bib Fortuna; however Fett convinced Ree-Yees and the others to back down based on his reputation.

Jabba's temporary accountant Silvan Kaan fomented a rivalry between Ree-Yees and the Ithorian Charn Roondha, whose position as "tax" and protection money collector for Jabba the Gran aspired to take. Kaan manipulated Roondha into attacking Ree-Yees in Jabba's throne room and the Ithorian defeated the Gran but was forced to spare him by the Hutt.

Despite flourishing among the criminal classes on Tatooine the alcoholic outcast Ree-Yees was the butt of many jokes and loathed Jabba, although not as much as Buboicullaar, who was fully sentient, despised Ree-Yees. Ree-Yees had pink skin and black eyes.

Ree-Yees wore a brown tunic and pants with a brown belt and light brown boots. He carried a black blaster rifle and a blaster pistol, and used a knife while fighting Roonhda. While cleaning the Khetanna, the Gran used a pair of yellow gloves but tore through the fingers.

Gran were a sentient humanoid species who were identifiable from their goat-like faces and three eyes. Their heads were topped with four antennae-like nubs, two of which were short and straight and another set that were longer and curved. Gran could be found with two distinct body shapes, one being fat-bottomed and rotund at their mid-section and the other being skinnier and have proportions similar to a human. The former type also had hands that carried six slender digits. The latter type Gran either had smaller, human-like hands or fatter hands with thick digits that ended in flat suction-cup-like appendages. Gran had two stomachs and could live for several centuries.

Hutt Castle, often simply called Jabba the Hutt's Palace after its owner, was a large sandrock and durasteel complex located at the fringes of the Northern Dune Sea on the planet of Tatooine. Originally erected as a monastery of the B'omarr Order, the buildings eventually fell into the hands of two major crimelords: first an outcast and gang leader called Alkhara and later Jabba the Hutt, a notorious crime lord from Nal Hutta.

While the structure underwent many additions in the way of fortification and technological advances, the basic structure of the complex remained the same throughout its existence. Composed of a central rotunda and a taller spire adjacent to it, the ridge-side retreat also boasted an underground hangar and maintenance bay. Deep in the monastery's subterranean chambers, Jabba the Hutt made a throne room which sat on top of a pit that housed a pet rancor. The Hutt used the beast for a dual purpose: protection and entertainment. At the flick of a switch, a concealed door in the floor of the chamber could deposit a threatening guest into an inescapable pit while onlookers could watch as the rancor made short work of its meal.

Jabba Desilijic Tiure, more commonly referred to as Jabba the Hutt or simply Jabba, and formally styled as His Excellency Jabba Desilijic Tiure of Nal Hutta, Eminence of Tatooine, was a Hutt gangster and crime lord, as well as a leading member of the Grand Hutt Council and influential leader of the Hutt Clan, who operated and led a criminal empire from his palace on the Outer Rim world of Tatooine. Jabba was a major figure on Tatooine, where he controlled the bulk of the piracy, slavery, and trafficking in illegal goods that generated most of the planet's wealth. He was also highly influential in the entire Outer Rim as one of its most powerful crime lords.
