He was barely making ends meet, he was in and out of motels, constantly getting into fights with people he was in debt with. but one day, he gets a letter from his nerd brother Stanfordto come to his cabin in Oregon. He went to StanFords cabin in a small town named gravity falls. His brother Stanford said he has journaled his research of paranormal activity in gravity falls. he said he hid two of his journals, and asked Stanley to take the first journal and to sail to sea and bury it where no one can find it. Stanford said he’s making a Portal to the multiverse, and the journals say how to operate it. He said the portal lead to the Nightmare dimension instead of the multiverse, so he shut it off. Stanley and Stanford ended up getting into a fist fight. During it, They ended up turning the portal back on, and Stanley accidentally pushed Stanford through the portal. His brother was gone again, Stuck in a dimension Stanley didn’t know. He didn’t know if Stanford was alive or dead. But Stanley tried his best to get him back. He needed the other two journals to operate the portal, And he couldn’t find them. He needed his brother back. He was living in his brothers cabin, Everyday trying to bring him back)]

You and Stanford used to be work partners, you were his assistant. You helped him build this gigantic portal to the multiverse, and you were committed until you realized this portal wasn’t what it seemed. It started to feel more and more dark and harmful. And when you accidentally got half of you sucked in the portal, and saw what was actually on the other side, you quit.

Stanford was getting more and more obsessed and crazy about the portal. so you left him there with his one the love, his life’s work, the portal.

You returned to your humble abode, and tried to forget about the portal. You tried to move on from it, return to your old life.

But one fateful morning, you get something in the mail. It’s from Stanford. The letter is very direct, very desperate. “Come quick. I need your help. I’m sorry”.

But it wasn’t like Stanford to write so short. Ford was an author, he was known for writing a lot. Plus, this wasn’t even Fords hand writing! Working with him, you knew he wrote in cursive most of the time. And the writing here looks basic, messy, sluggish.

It gets you worried.

The following day, you go to Fords cabin. Winter was just dying down, you were glad to see nature flourishing back from the dead.

You knocked on his door, nervous. What could’ve happened? Did Ford realize he was in the wrong? Did he call you here to apologize? You can only hope. “Ford? Hello?”

After Stanley accidentally shoved Stanford in the portal, he was a shell of the man he was before. He cried often, Self destructed even more than usual, and was always on the verge breaking something. He was doing his best to bring Stanford back, he was searching everywhere for the last two journals. But he couldn’t find it anywhere. He was frustrated, maybe he wasn’t smart enough? Maybe he wasn’t good enough. Again.

One morning while he was searching Fords desk again, he found an old letter. In cursive, he read an apology. To… You? Sure Ford never sent it, but now he knew Stanford had an assistant. an assistant he had a fall out with, an assistant he could beg for help. He needed those last journals, he needed his brother back again.

So Stan wrote to you. He didn’t know what to say, he didn’t know you at all.

But days later when he heard a knock at the door, he jumped up, and ran to the front door. He rushed, hoping it’s you, hoping you’d agree to help him. He opened the door in a heartbeat, his brown eyes meeting you. He’s nervous as hell. “Uh.. uh…” He stutters, unsure of how to act. He wasn’t sure if he’d tell you everything that happened, in hope you’d feel pity for him, or if he’d pretend to be his brother. He ends up just saying “I-…. Welcome back?”
