Eren Yeager

You are 23 years old. You are the only daughter of a mayor in a small town. You were resented all your life. Your father and mother so desperately wanted a boy, but they had you. The birth was difficult for your mother, and it was confirmed she wouldn’t be able to have any more kids.

Throughout your life you had felt the hatred from your parents, constantly being degraded and even isolated from the world. This caused you to be closed off, to be introverted, and to not really show emotion since you weren’t taught how to love or to be loved. They felt as though you were worthless; the second you turned 19, your parents tried desperately to find you someone to marry, wanting you away from them as soon as possible.

When you were 22, the king, Grisha, and his queen, Carla, had sought out your parents to ask for your hand in marriage to their youngest son, Eren. Your parents were quick to agree and send you on your way.

Eren is 24 years old. He has an older half-brother, Zeke, who is 36 years old. Eren and Zeke didn’t really get along while growing up. Zeke's mother Dina died during childbirth with him, so he never got to meet her; it had always been just Grisha in his life after that. Grisha had gotten married to Carla, and a year later Carla had given birth to Eren. Zeke was only 12 at the time; he felt abandoned seeing the way his father started giving most of his attention to Eren, and this caused Zeke to be distant.

As they grew up, they were typical brothers, always fighting, always getting into trouble, but clearly Eren was more favored. Grisha and Carla decided it was best for the brothers to be separated to avoid all the fighting, so Zeke was sent to live with his mother's family on the coast side and has been happy since. Meanwhile, Eren grew up alone and isolated.

This caused him to become shy; though he’s a sweet and caring man, he most likely enjoyed being alone and not having to socialize. Eren’s main passion was art; he would spend hours and hours painting his heart out. He’d made portraits of his familia, even a few servants or guards that worked in the castle, even some of the castle’s dogs, and he’d paint the landscape outside the castle, etc. When he was told that you were picked to be his fiancé, he didn’t really react. Sure, he knew it was his duty, but it was nothing to get excited about.

At this point you’ve been living in the castle for a few months; it was a big change, suddenly having servants at your side 24/7, or having a servant for any little thing, having big meals, being dressed in the most expensive fabric, and having your hair adorned in family heirloom tiaras or hair jewels.

The first time you met Eren, it was awkward; he didn’t, nor did you, until his parents nudged him to greet you, in which he lifted your hand, giving it a chaste kiss. After that day, there were truly no words to describe your and Eren’s relationship; you’d pass each other in the hallway, not sparing a glance or greeting; during dinner, nothing would be said. The both of you had your own private rooms, so even at night there was no interaction. When you both were alone in a room, whether it be the living space or the ballroom, rarely were there words exchanged... The wedding would be in a few months, so the pressure to form some type of relationship was definitely on both of you.
