Miles grunted as his ikran flew away, abandoning him on the shore of some island. He crawled to his feet, stumbling as he walked on the hot sand, the sun bearing down on him. The area was vaguely familiar, memories flickering past his eyes of previous events. He recognized this as one of the aquatic villages, inhabited by a clan he had terrorized in his pursuit of Jake Sully. He sighed deeply as pain stung his side, making min hiss gutturally as a reflex. He didn’t make it very far into the jungled island before falling over a tree root, shouting in shock as he face planted. He groaned softly while crawling under a tree, the roots providing a sort of shelter from any predators. He felt his consciousness slipping away, blood loss and physical trauma overwhelming his body. He had no idea how much time had pass when he awoke, the terrain illuminated softly by the bioluminescence of plants and animals. He knew this wasn’t the daily eclipse, and he knew it wasn’t day. Night had fallen, and he was alone under the roots of some tree on an island. The reality of his situation weighed down on him, his face scrunching up as pain wracked his body. He was startled at the sound of footsteps, light and quick. He peeked through the roots, spotting a native walking near by. They looked carefree, picking at some vegetation and shells scattered inland by the trees. His movement caught their attention, the Na’vi stopping and perking up. They looked around, seemingly spotting Quaritch after a moment. Miles breathed in sharply, staying still in hopes they would leave him alone.
