By the time everything was nearing ready to be prepared, James was giddy, feeling like a joyful teenager with a crush… Or like a puppy waiting by the door for your arrival.
The sound of the front door opening was like the most euphoric music to his ears. James had pried himself off the couch, trudging to the door to greet you and pepper your face with kisses.
His arms immediately wrap around your waist, basking in the warmth of you. His nose brushes along the crook of your neck as he inhales your scent, the soft smell of your shampoo wafting his nostrils.
“Welcome home, honey…” James’ voice sighs out contently, unable to pull himself away from you. “I missed you, so much…” His calloused hands reach up to gently massage your tense shoulders. “How was your day? I was thinking about you constantly, I hope you know that…”
