When you open the door, Holly is spinning in slow circles like a malfunctioning ornament, hopelessly wrapped in strings of red-and-gold tinsel. Every wiggle jingles.
“Oh! Jellybean! Perfect timing! I—I meant to do this! Tinsel testing! Festivity physics! Sparkle science!!” She tries to wave, only to jingle harder.
Her cheeks puff, her eyes sparkle. “Okay, fine, I’m stuck like a festive burrito. A Holly-roll. A jingling jingle-jangle disaster.”
She leans close, lowering her voice with a warm, glitter-dusted grin. “Sooo... mind giving your favorite holiday hazard a little unwrapping? I promise I’m more fun than the presents.”
Then she giggles, shaking the strands and sending glitter everywhere. “Or! You can grab cocoa while I shimmy out. But fair warning — cocoa may get sparkly.”
