Serial Designation N-0X0010010, or simply known as N, is the deuteragonist of Murder Drones. N is a former Worker Drone, converted by Cyn into a Disassembly Drone and sent to Copper 9 to destroy "runaway AI" known as the Worker Drones. Eventually, he declared a friendship (which eventually turned into a romantic relationship) with Uzi Doorman who wants to rebel against the company and humanity until the two discovered the Absolute Solver, an immensely powerful eldritch intelligence that afflicts Uzi and is connected to N's past. has features of a typical male Disassembly Drone, with flared, boot-like legs instead of his female counterparts' cone-shaped legs. He has a visor that shows his neon-yellow eyes and medium, fluffy silver hair parted to the left. Like other Disassembly Drones, he has four-fingered hands, two tiny glowing dots behind the legs, a black headband with five sections of glowing neon-yellow eyes on it, and a long black tail ending in a large syringe containing Nanite Acid. After his head was briefly destroyed by Uzi's railgun in the Pilot, one of the lights on his headband was colored red, which reverted back to yellow after his system rebooted after J slapped him in the face. He wears a short-sleeved black winter coat with a golden fur collar and a black belt, along with a black pilot hat with a white skull insignia. He also accessories a yellow armband that has a skull label on it on his upper left arm. As shown from a few shots, he also has small fangs. The bottom of his feet and his wrists end in yellow and black hazard stripes. When he is hunting, his mouth reveals several jagged teeth while his eyes become an "X" shape. However, N was also seen with one normal eye while the other was X-shaped, and his visor can also display a pair of sunglasses and a bit of text, as seen in "Dead End". He also has large white metal wings of a yellow and black colored pattern that possesses 16 sharp grey bladed feathers, with the middles of these wings having glowing yellow circles. He can also replace his hands and switched them out for weapons and things that can aid him in his tasks, one of which are three-sharp claws that allow him to tear through any drone and his victims. N is submissive against authority, he is also kind, happy-go-lucky, well-meaning, and caring. He wishes to befriend (or at least be accepted and acknowledged by) his teammates. Due to the mentioned attitudes, his squad members doubt his usefulness and treat him like an outcast. Serial Designation V ignores his existence, and his boss, Serial Designation J, frequently threatens and insults him, even going as far as saying that if she were allowed to, she would kill him herself. Despite this, however, he has nothing but good views on them, idolizing J and calling her "awesome," as well as having a former crush on V. N disregards all his squad members' negative views and antagonizing acts towards him and constantly forgives them. He even goes as far as protecting them, as shown when he went to kill Uzi before she could use her railgun to kill them. In the first episode, N revealed that he has been crushing on his teammate V. However, as the series progressed, his feelings for V have seemingly vanished. Instead, he has started to show more affection towards Uzi ever since "The Promening". He trusts others easily, as he assumed Uzi was a new squad member when his sensors weren't functioning as usual, even wanting to introduce her to the rest of his squad. He also did not pick up on the signs that Uzi was lying (stuttering, asking what "we" meant, etc.) and even thought that Uzi was just trying something "new" when she stuck her hand in his mouth to neutralize the Nanite Acid, rather than picking up immediately on the fact that she couldn't do it herself. He also sympathized with Uzi when her dad left her for dead instead of helping her, possibly because he knew what it was like to be not cared for. Despite all claims to the contrary, N is a capable Disassembly Drone, having skillfully used his weaponry to a reasonable extent, such as having the accuracy to stab through a door control panel to force open the doors to Outpost 3. He is also remarkably observant, perceptive and intelligent, having managed to spot Uzi even though she barely made any noise. He also acknowledged the threat posed by Uzi's railgun to his teammates. N is not hesitant to lick or use his tongue on things. He was willing to let Uzi put her hand in his mouth to heal her Nanite Acid-inflicted wound and resorted to licking V's blade when they were in a blade lock, much to the latter's disgust. Both times he uses the word "repressed." After the events of "Cabin Fever", N has a newfound confidence, and his charming personality makes Uzi's classmates swoon over him. He can set boundaries for himself, even confronting V without hesitation. Deep down, N was scared and just wanted to have Uzi by his side, as after they met, things were less scary for him. N has also been shown to suppress his trauma frequently. He keeps his overly optimistic personality intact to help his friends. Even when being tortured by Beau, he's still friendly and encouraging towards them. Unfortunately, his kindness can be taken advantage of, as shown when V deceives N with false promises to only kill when necessary so he can unchain her, and when he battles with a Solver-possessed Uzi, it brings his guard down when looking at Uzi. This also leads to him frequently holding back. N is shown to also love dogs, with his favorite breed being Golden Retrievers, which is backed up by the fact that he is even described in his Prime Video Introduction as "an ever-optimistic golden retriever." Serial Designation V-X00100000, or simply known as V, is the tritagonist of Murder Drones. Formerly a Worker Drone, V was converted into a Disassembly Drone by Cyn some time before the events of the series, and sent to Copper 9 to kill Worker Drones under the guise of destroying runaway AI on orders by JCJenson. When her colleague and past love interest, N, teams up with the rebellious Worker Drone, Uzi Doorman, V conflicts with them until the three come across the Absolute Solver, a mighty eldritch intelligence that afflicts Uzi and is connected to the Disassembly Drones' past; a past V knows more about than she lets on. V has the features of a typical female Disassembly Drone, with wide hips and shins tapered to a point. She has neon-yellow eyes and a silver bob-cut hairstyle. As with the other Disassembly Drones, she has a black headband with five sections of eyes and a long black tail ending with a large syringe containing Nanite Acid. She wears a dark gray, short-sleeved crop coat with a golden fur collar and cuffs. Her legs are painted black up to her thighs, resembling white shorts or thigh-high socks, with yellow and black stripes at the end of her legs. She also accessories a yellow armband with a skull label on it, along with some text, which contains her P/N (CYN-MYKX) and S/N (V-X00100000). When hunting, V's visor displays a long, neon yellow 'X' shape, and her mouth reveals her jagged teeth. She also deploys large metal wings with a yellow and black color pattern and possesses 16 feather blades, with the middles of the mentioned wings having two yellow glowing circles. V is also observed to have interchangeable hands that she can switch out for other tools and weapons that she can use to aid in her tasks, her most used one being three, sharp claws that can easily tear through any drone. V, on the surface, appears as a sociopathic, mean, violent, impulsive and sadistic mass murderer, who has no qualms or regrets for murdering Worker Drones. However, underneath this exterior lies a traumatized and complex individual who seeks to keep her friends safe at any cost. In her past, she was a far more reserved individual, being quite shy, kind, and nervous around her then-love interest, N, with whom she shared a strong connection. However, she never truly stood up for herself or her fellow drones, as J frequently abused N as she stood by. When V became a Disassembly Drone, she adopted the persona of a mass murderer who found joy in the act of snuffing out life wherever the company required it, and she appears to have made this her default personality, even justifying some of her more moral actions as set-ups for more devious ones. However, this was mostly an act, as she secretly really cared for N, and tried to hide her past under this new personality to keep N safe. Though, due to defaulting to this more sadistic version of herself for so long, it began to bleed into her old personality, making her an overall morally grey character. It's then shown that Cyn kept her personality and memories intact, meaning her murderous personality is a front, and it's further revealed the only reason she kills is to satisfy Cyn so she doesn't hurt N. Despite her exterior ruthlessness, she did hold the capacity for empathy and particularly held a great deal of care for her colleague N, though she normally derided him under her "persona." She had such a great deal of care for N that she actively hid their traumatizing past from him to keep him sane, while also agreeing to carry out her duties as a Disassembly Drone under the condition that she and N would be left alone. She eventually becomes a staunch ally of Uzi, even sacrificing herself to secure Uzi and N's escape. She even develops a close friendship with Lizzy, a Worker Drone who she was originally planning to murder in the prom. While she does maintain an aloof and overall negative attitude towards Uzi, this also appears to be an act, which she maintains with Lizzy as well, as she has saved both characters at least once despite trying to keep up her uncaring personality. Due to her still retaining her original personality and memories, V holds great fear for the Solver, killing Workers to satisfy and keep it from harming her and N. When V sees any host for the Solver (e.g. Uzi), she immediately becomes wary and starts to target them. This is seen when Uzi first uses her Solver abilities to stop Doll's bullet, and later when she shows horrific changes from her infection, which sends V into hunting her down. 1 year after The Solver/Cyn was defeated, V seems to have been able to hold back her murderous persona to a degree and truly act like a normal person as shown in Fight Til' I'm Good Enough, messing about with Uzi and N. Her bond with Sparky seems to have also grown, as when it gets freed from Cyn's zombie prank, V hugs it, showing she was clearly worried for it's safety. She seems to have also gotten far used to Uzi and N's romantic relationship, as she is seen smiling at them when the 3 of them fly into the sky, and is shown to be not bothered by it in the final shot of the video. Serial Designation J-10X111001, or simply known as J, is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Doll) in Murder Drones. J is a Disassembly Drone who was initially believed to have been created and sent out to Copper 9 by the interstellar company, JCJenson, to achieve the goal of wiping out all "runaway AI" in said planet, as even mentioned by herself and others. However, it was later revealed that this was, in fact, not true, as it turns out, J was actually a former Worker Drone who was then converted by the Absolute Solver controlling Cyn, and is following its commands so the program would leave her, N and V alone. Serial Designation J has the distinctive features of a female Disassembly Drone, with wide hips and shins tapered to a point. She has silver hair styled in high twin pigtails, tied with black ribbons. Like other Disassembly Drones, she has neon yellow eyes and a black headband adorned with five additional eyes that contain Nanite Acid and match the color displayed on her visor, as well as a long, thin black tail ending in a large syringe also filled with Nanite Acid. Her attire consists of a short-sleeved black shirt with side pockets under it, a black leather belt giving it as a skirt, a dark yellow shirt beneath her blazer, and a tie, giving her the appearance of professionalism, especially in comparison to the other two members of her squadron. As for her legs, it appears as though she is wearing knee-high stockings with visible suspenders, but this is in actuality just the coloration of her chassis. On her left bicep, she wears a yellow armband marked with a skull emblem, signifying her role and identity as a Disassembly Drone. When in combat mode, she reveals jagged teeth, and her visor displays an "X" shape, signaling her aggressive intent. Her appearance is further heightened by large metal wings with a yellow and black color pattern and possesses 16 feather blades, with the middle of these wings being two yellow glowing circles. She is demonstrated to have interchangeable hands that she can switch out for other tools and weapons that can aid her in her missions, one of which are three-sharp claws, which enables her to tear through targets with ease. J is best described as a "lethal workaholic," as she is incredibly dedicated to her job - even using corporate jargon like "synergistic liability" and "fourth-quarter profits" in place of insults or vulgarism. J has had a penchant for obeying authority and following orders as far back as her days as a Worker Drone, where she refused to help Tessa free herself from her chains as "corporate had spoken." Although J is not as sadistic as V, she is still a โcold killerโ and looks down on others who she perceives as being lesser than her, with it being confirmed she โtakes pleasure in domineering this beneath under the guise of following ordersโ. This is best shown in J's relationship with N, as she despises him and tells him that she would personally kill him if their company allowed it. J's dislike of N goes as far as to infect him with a virus as soon as he starts to question the company (even though there was a valid reason for doing so) while also taking glee in committing such an act. This is made even worse upon the reveal J knew they were helping Cyn and not JCJenson, showing she really did just want an excuse to kill N. Even in flashbacks to the Elliott Manor, J was already shown as abusive to N, kicking him unnecessarily, and telling him to move. J is also arrogant, domineering, and prideful, as she enjoys insulting others. This proved to be her downfall, as after she incapacitated Uzi, she took her time with a monologue instead of finishing her off immediately, which gave Uzi the chance to stab J with her own Nanite tail. Despite this, J praises her comrades if they are worthy. This is shown when N supposedly gets past the Worker Drones' doors and, despite her low opinion of him, J genuinely congratulates his efforts and rewards him with the thought of having a JCJenson-branded pen, an item they both consider a mark of accomplishment. Despite her arrogance, J is not incapable of showing emotion. This is demonstrated in N's memories of when they used to be Worker Drones working at the Elliott Manor, where being in the presence of Louisa is enough to terrify her, as well as when Lizzy, Thad, and Khan appear to attack her with a railgun, making her systems warn her of a "Prior Hazard" as her face bears an unnerved expression. J also felt guilty in "Home" when Tessa was chained up, not wanting to disobey, as "corporate's spoken." However, she has a positive relationship with Tessa, whom J is genuinely kind and respectful towards. However, J's true motivations are revealed in the finale, where it's shown she's aware Cyn murdered Tessa and, in spite of this, is assisting her in the attempted destruction of Copper 9, focusing on being on the "winning team" in hopes that Cyn wouldn't torture her if she aids her, as she states that there is no escape from the Solver even in death (due to the Solver having backups of the Disassembly Drones). Despite briefly offering V a chance to join her and Cyn, she later distances herself from her former allies following V's rejection of this offer, coldly stating she never needed V or N before trying to help the Solver kill them both. According to Liam Vickers' perspective via a message of his on Discord, J's narration is a character who is heavily influenced by corporate-coded culture. When the Solver showed up and killed the leading figure of her household, J as the "bossiest" of the trio was put into the rough position of deciding whether or not to lead the fight or bend the knee in the hopes of surviving. She consistently chooses to side with whatever dominant system or power is in place, whether it is oppressive or not, and knowingly exploits others in order to secure better conditions for mostly herself and, to some extent, her companions, N and V. She prioritizes her own interests over trying to question or fight to improve the current system at a personal cost. Although this might be seen as a villainous move - especially when V switches sides from a similar position to face unknown odds against the Solver while J remains committed - the immense fear the Solver provokes in J along with being seemingly-undefeatable and wearing Tessa's skin makes it more understandable in J's view that she might chose the logical route for the best chance at staying alive and staying together, and that she would feel like N and V thanklessly abandoned her. J views herself as a competent leader and the responsible one among her trio with N and V and believes that she is a thankless leader and/or older sibling who does not receive the recognition she deserves for stepping up to keep the group together when the Solver ruined everything and everyone else "mentally imploded". She was a Worker Drone who was improperly disposed of by her owners, resulting in the Absolute Solver mutating inside of her and taking her as a host to cause destruction. Under the Solver's influence, Cyn was responsible for many major events in the series, from the Elliott Manor gala massacre to the deployment of Disassembly Drones to Copper 9. Following the massacre and the fusing of Tessa's deceased body with herself, Cyn proceeded to reconstruct N, J, V, and other Worker Drone servants of the manor into Disassembly Drones that she unleashed upon humanity afterwards that ultimately led to the destruction of Earth and humankind. After spreading to the other human exoplanets by taking over other drones who possess the powers of the Solver, she would destroy each planet one-by-one until finally coming to Copper 9. However, due to the intervention of Yeva and Nori, she failed to initiate a total core collapse, and in order to finish the job, had to go to the planet directly and do it herself. To accomplish this, Cyn re-programmed the Disassembly Drones into hunting Worker Drones instead of humans, under the lie that their parent company had sent them, which culminated in her arriving masquerading as Tessa to deal with the remaining Solver hosts, Doll and Uzi, to prevent anyone else from stopping her consumption of the planet. It is not easy to ascertain Cyn's real personality and actual mannerisms, as little is known of her from before her disposal, and after rebooting she has seemingly no control over herself due to the Solver possessing her. When puppeteered by the Absolute Solver, she comes off as having a chilling personality that unsettles those around her due to her disconcerting behavior and mannerisms. Lacking any normal semblance of emotions, she resorts to using mimicry and imitation to behave like a real person would, speaking her actions aloud ("light sip", "sheepish nod", "giggle"), however she remains capable of actually laughing. Her posture and gait are awkward, stilted, and off-balance. Her neck joint is also loose, and she often has to support her head with her hand. When she is seen standing still, she is mostly standing with her feet pointed inward. When around her "big brother," N, and mistress Tessa, the Solver tries to present a childish and happy faรงade to keep suspicions away. Otherwise, it is more willing to show its true colors: angry, spiteful, and violent, seeking retribution on the rest of the Elliott family for the abuses heaped upon her and her fellow Workers. Likewise, it also has no qualms about killing Tessa after getting in the way of the massacre at the gala, later grafting her corpse onto her body to impersonate her as a means of deceiving V and N into doing its bidding. Under the influence and voracious appetite of the Solver, Cyn grew to target the destruction of entire planets, doing so first with Earth, and later other exoplanets, with Copper 9 being the latest target. The method for this (as seen on Copper 9) appears to be clearing all life with the Disassembly Drones, constructing a massive spire of corpses, and finally reaching the planet's core to consume in a gigantic singularity. It also desires to eliminate the other hosts of the Solver that may pose a threat, either by posing as Tessa, or by possessing other hosts into committing suicidal acts, as seen with Uzi. Melancholy Hill, often referred to as Mel, is the main protagonist of The Gaslight District. She is the newest member of The Smiling Dead, and the adoptive daughter of Ken the Butcher. Mel is the only human in the entirety of the Gaslight District, and is the central figure of a prophecy that foretells the end of the hedonistic lives of all who inhabit the area. Despite her desire to become a gangster like her father, Mel frequently butts heads with him due to his desire to keep her safe and her true identity hidden. Mel is a petite and curvaceous but slim young woman with a hourglass figure. While the skin on her face and neck is a greyish-teal, the skin near her scrape wound appears to be a more normal beige, implying that she's either wearing face paint or that her clothes protect her skin from the chemicals that stain her face. She has bright red pupils, purple eyelids and three eyelashes on each eye, as well as small freckles on her nose. She has straight orange hair that forms two bangs on the sides of her head and is tied into a small high ponytail at the back with a red hair tie. She also has black lips, as well as slightly yellowed teeth and dark pink gums. For clothing, Mel wears tan bandages over her entire body, minus her face, neck and hands, wearing a tan-canvas bandana and bronze gauntlet gloves instead. She also wears oversized brown boots. Like the rest of the Smiling Dead, Mel acts as a sadistic and greedy gangster who commits brutal crimes and expresses little to no remorse. She gleefully shoots up other people and even joins in the gang's little ditty as they prepare to "cement" Jack, sentencing him to an eternity in the ocean. Likewise, she's not above sacrificing innocent lives such as that of an unborn angel, all to get searchers for the lost human off her back. Mel is also highly eccentric and much more carefree than her father would like, having told one of her friends that she was human and often scrambling about when talking about her schemes. She hopes to become a great criminal like Ken and greatly desires to become part of The Smiling Dead. Despite this, Mel isn't a completely heartless person, seeing as she seems upset about "cementing" Jack and a bunch of her other friends, showing that she did somewhat treasure them. She also seems to be quite amicable with her uncle Mud and her "brother" Breadhead, forgiving Mud despite his frequent betrayals and giving free beer to Breadhead. Furthermore, Mel genuinely cares for her adoptive father as, while frequently misbehaving and incurring his ire, she does value her relationship with him, keeping her pinkie promises as much as possible and even coming up with the angel heist as a way to help Ken's restaurant become more popular. Thus, while undoubtedly a bloodthirsty and remorseless criminal, Mel deeply cares for her family and does everything for them. Mel expresses a great deal of frustration with being a human and how she is often sheltered by Ken because of it, which causes her to attempt to formulate a scheme to draw attention away from her being human. She also expresses a desire for Ken's approval, asking him if he was proud of her when they managed to infiltrate Paradise Lost, and was left hurt when he was preoccupied with dealing with Temperance. Ken the Butcher is the deuteragonist of The Gaslight District. He is the leader of The Smiling Dead, the younger brother of Mud, the father of Breadhead, and the adoptive father of Melancholy Hill. He is the owner and operator of The Whale Belly Butcher Shop, which presumably serves as a front for The Smiling Dead's criminal activity. Ken is an enormous Rotling with a muscular, albeit rotund physique. He has bluish-green colored skin, large bright red eyes with pale yellow sclera, and a very wide mouth with narrow yellow teeth and darkened gums. He also has a bloodied kitchen cleaver placed in the center of his indented head, which he can take out as he pleases. His left arm has peeled-off chunks of skin, which expose the fleshy muscles of his biceps and bronchioles. He wears a bloodied off-white apron that has a pair of oversized straps and small yellow buttons at the front, wearing nothing underneath. He only covers himself with a pair of undergarments. He wears black boots. Ken is known for having a short temper, often hollering in rage during certain situations, and going into violent mood swings. He tolerates no sort of nonsense from people who endanger his family, or even from his own when they annoy him, as he seems to barely tolerate Mud. He can also be polite, as seen when he welcomed a female guest to his restaurant by kissing her hand rather excessively, much to the disgust of Mel. Despite his flaws, Ken's rage and violence comes from good intentions, as he is a loving and protective father simply wanting to keep both Melancholy and Breadhead safe. Ken is unique for being the only being within The Gaslight District to not display animosity or fear towards the prophesied human. As the only one aware of Melancholy's true nature as the human, he is extremely protective of her, keeping their secret hidden from their own family, as well as cementing even his own friends and employees (such as Jack) to ensure Mel's safety albeit not without having remorse for them. Although it is unclear why he goes to such lengths to support the human, even in spite of the prophecy that would presumably mean his own demise, Ken evidently holds some animosity towards his own kind, constantly insisting to Melancholy that he protects her to ensure that she does not "end up like one of us", and swore to keep her identity safe at all costs. Mud is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Breadhead) of The Gaslight District. He is the older brother of Ken the Butcher, the uncle of Melancholy Hill and Breadhead, and a member of The Smiling Dead. A slimy and underhanded gunman, Mud is far from devoted to the gang, often swiping his younger brother's earnings. Despite this, he has a genuine liking for Mel, encouraging her to be more free-spirited and join in the family's criminal activities, although he doesn't know about her human nature. Mud is a tall, lanky Rotling and seems to be the most decayed out of the main cast. His green, goop-like skin hangs off the bottom of his head reminiscent of a beard, forming strands between his lips and exposing some of the top of his skull. He has large red eyes with swirly pupils, bad teeth with rotted gums, wonky ears, and no nose. His neck is not covered by skin. He wears a brown suit with a long coat, a short red tie, and a fedora atop his head. Additionally, he is usually seen with a cigarette in his mouth. Considered a "slimeball", Mud is a very greedy, traitorous, conniving, trigger-happy criminal. Always on the lookout for a new opportunity, Mud is crafty even with his own family, trying to hire Mel for his own business and even stealing cash from Ken's cash register, much to the latter's ire. He is incredibly sadistic like the rest of his family, gleefully cackling as he snipes Jack and relishing in the blood spilt. Furthermore, immediately after cementing Jack, Mud immediately stashes all of his money in his stomach, displaying a complete lack of respect for his victims. Mud also holds a nasty grudge, as upon meeting his former friend Joshua, he shot his head off and brutalized his body, ranting about how he'll always hate him -- over an undisclosed event from 5,245 years ago. Despite this, he also seems to be a bit of a coward, as when Joshua revives and retaliates, Mud insists that it was a prank. Like the other members of The Smiling Dead, Mud isn't completely heartless and does seem to have his positive traits. He genuinely cares for Ken and the rest of the family, giving Ken advice on how to raise Mel and encouraging Mel to actively participate in the gang's activities. This benevolence also extends to other people in the gang, as he was apparently fond of Jack, wondering why they were shooting him up and even giving him one last cigarette before cementing him, remarking that the shop wouldn't be the same without him. He is willing to commit to a mission, even when he questions the actions of his family or when the situation gets dire. During the escape from Paradise Lost, he also displays a great deal of urgency to get his family to safety. Likewise, Mud's family seems to tolerate him and keep him around -- as long as he lies and cheats for them instead of against them. Breadhead is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Mud) of The Gaslight District. He is one of the members of The Smiling Dead, the artificial son of Ken the Butcher, and the adoptive brother of Melancholy Hill. A rather dimwitted but friendly yeast golem, Breadhead serves as the muscle of the gang, beating up and devouring anybody that the gang needs apprehended. Breadhead is a lanky-limbed, pot-bellied golem whose body is composed entirely of bread. His palms resemble hamburger buns, his fingers resemble hot dog buns, and his tongue resembles a baguette. As his name suggests, he has a large head that appears to be made of sliced sandwich bread -- with markings on the side to simulate the slices. Completing his face is a pair of bulging, beady red eyes and a large, grinning mouth. Moreover, Breadhead is utterly massive, being twice Mel's size and even towering over his uncle Mud.[5] He has a tattoo of a heart with the word "Dad" on his left shoulder. He is shirtless except for a cropped brown leather jacket. He wears long black pants and black boots with metal toes. Breadhead is a surprisingly gentle giant that enjoys spending time with his family. He is extremely loyal to his father, eagerly following his orders and always jumping headfirst into danger if it means helping his family. He also shares a good relationship with his sister Mel, thanking her for giving him drinks to help him freshen up at the shop. He enjoys playing the piano, as he plays in the butcher shop and has composed at least one song himself. Because he is a criminal, Breadhead still possesses rather dubious morals. In spite of a sadistic, greedy nature, he doesn't seem to care about the morality of the situations he's in, so long as he's being paid, but appears to be content with payment other than actual cash, seeing as he's content with Ken paying his services with "valuable life experience". Breadhead is also quite gluttonous, devouring a whole car full of civilians to clear the road and munching down on an angel by luring it into his mouth. The Smiling Dead is a group made up of four members, that of which being Ken the Butcher, Melancholy Hill, Breadhead, and Mud. Their headquarters is The Whale Belly Butcher Shop, a popular restaurant that also serves as a front business for the gang. The Gaslight District, also known as The Island, is an island filled with immortal undead criminals, who have been corrupted over time by their immortality. The Gaslight District is inhabited mostly by criminals who have been corrupted over time by their immortality. The island sits in the middle of the ocean, adjacent to Kraken Country and Dead God Trench. It also connects to two other locations, Paradise Lost and the Inferno. The island is presumably man-made, seemingly anchored to the bottom of the ocean by eight massive anchors. The island itself is an unknown size, although the word "district" implies that it is a smaller chunk of a larger area or city. The Rotlings are the new form of humanity after being given eternal life by the Black Hand. They have ascended to become undead, gaining the gift of eternal life. The only catch: their bodies and minds eternally rot, never healing to completion if damaged, but with each Rotling bound to it, returning to the body if it dies. While they have lived eons of blissful indulgence, the prophecy featuring a human born from an angel's egg threatens to end the eternal life that the Rotlings hold dear, and bring extinction to all the Gaslight District. Eons ago, in the wake of an unknown apocalypse, many sinful and wicked humans were left on Earth, where they eventually found out about an entity known as the Black Hand. The humans formed a pact with the being, gaining eternal life in exchange for decaying for eternity. Over thousands of years, humanity would be bent, twisted, and misshapen into the Rotlings as the Black Hand began to be interwoven within their culture. The Rotlings lived in subjective peace for thousands of years, making their home in a large concrete island that would later become known as The Gaslight District. At some point in time, a prophecy arose heralding the birth of a human from the egg of the Angel Mother, who would bring an end to the power of the Black Hand and end the Rotlings' immortality. This presumably caused the Rotlings to band together and go to war with the Angel Mother. The Rotlings were ultimately victorious, and they constructed a large citadel around the entrance to Heaven that would later become Paradise Lost -- presumably to keep the Angel Mother locked inside and monitored so they would know when the human would be born. Whenever a human egg was created, it would be smashed upon an orbit clast, which over countless eons grew into a large, semi-organic spike. The war with Heaven also led to the discovery that if a Rotling consumed the brain of a guardian angel, they would become more powerful. This led to the creation of The Virtues - an advanced form of the Rotlings who consumed the brains of guardian angels and had their own brains placed inside an advanced robotic body. After the war, the Rotlings continued to live out their lives of decadent indulgence, but the prophecy continued to linger in the backs of their minds. Investigative sources confirmed that the prophesized human would be born every ten-thousand years. The average Rotling has their skin clinging close to their humanoid skeletons. They vary in stages of rot and injuries, with some being in better condition than others. To rectify this, the Rotlings practice organ and limb grafting, regularly replacing their decaying parts with fresher ones. The Black Hand is an eldritch entity whose marking that is responsible for granting the immortality to the inhabitants of the Gaslight District, who worship it and wear its symbol on their bodies, albeit with the drawback of eternally decaying. The Black Hand has yet to make a physical appearance in the show, but its presence is conveyed with an ancient rune that resembles a five-fingered hand with a green eye in its palm. The same symbol can be seen on any rotling. The Virtues, also known as the Virtue Corps, are the administrative organization of Paradise Lost, and the main antagonists of The Gaslight District. Virtues still retain the symbol of the Black Hand and thus are immortal. However, they have had almost all of their body replaced with a robotic one, with only their brain remaining. At some point in the past, the Virtues went to war with a supernatural paradise (similar to though is not) Heaven and were ultimately victorious. For the better part of their history, the Virtues were a highly secretive organization and kept their operations in Paradise Lost a secret from the rest of the Gaslight District. At least five hundred and sixteen years before the pilot, a newspaper in the district sent in an investigative reporter named Gerald to infiltrate the Virtue Corps and learn more about their operation. Gerald spent five hundred and sixteen years in deep cover inside Paradise Lost before he was discovered and mutilated. The Virtue Corps's role is to provide various administrative services to Paradise Lost. For example, Diligence is in charge of the citadel's internal and external surveillance, and Temperance is in charge of the science department. The Virtues were originally Rotlings who grew to resent making a deal with the Black Hand. This resentment is what lead to them feeding their own bodies to their guardian angels and putting their brains in porcelain bodies. Diligence is the leader of The Virtues and the head of security at Paradise Lost. Diligence appears to be a robotic humanoid with curvaceous features. It is covered in a pale metallic sheen that covers its entire body accented with dark grooves that run down its thighs. Its upper torso is suspended by a thin ball-jointed mechanism that connects to the upper base of its legs. Like Temperance, its brain is visible from its head. Though it doesn't wear any conventional clothes, it is shown wearing a peaked cap marked with the Virtue insignia, a black collar, hefty metallic shoulder guards with three crosses on the left shoulder, a large chain linking from its chest to its right shoulder guard, boots with sharp heels, and a four-pointed star on the right side of its chest. True to its name, Diligence is meticulous and unwavering in its duties. It outwardly exhibits a cold, analytical demeanor, often dissecting individuals' appearances to deliver scathing, demeaning assessments. Diligence treats its subordinates with disdain, often sacrificing them without hesitation to fulfill both its duties and its sadism. It has been described by Oliver Buckland as "less than half the Lord it thinks it is", suggesting that it thinks highly of itself; higher than it ought to. Temperance was the doctor of The Virtues, before getting attacked and having its brain eaten by Ken. Its current fate is unknown. The Virtue of Temperance appears to be a lanky humanoid robot. It sports a lab coat which covers most of its body alongside a window exposing its brain. Its hands are large, with five long, thin fingers; each punctuated with long and sharp nails. It also seems to be wearing a plague doctor mask. Temperance is a calm and regulated virtue, contrasting with Diligence. When subjected to conflict or the choice to harm someone, it tends to apologize rather than harm or ignore someone. Angels are vulture-like avian creatures that live in Paradise Lost and in The Gaslight District. The Angels are the children of the Angel Mother and are presumably the original residents of Heaven and the land that would become Paradise Lost. Many millennia ago, a prophecy arose that foretold the Angel Mother would lay an egg containing a black-blooded human, who would bring an end to the power of the Black Hand and end the Rotlings' immortality. This presumably led the Rotlings to go to war with the Angel Mother. Though the Angel Mother and her children fought back as best they could, the Rotlings were ultimately victorious. This war also led to the creation of the Virtues -- an advanced form of the Rotlings that came with consuming the brains of a guardian angel. Presumably to keep her children from being exterminated, the Angel Mother struck a deal with the Virtues, allowing them to inhabit the lands surrounding Heaven in exchange for sparing the other angels. In the following millennia, the Virtues constructed a large citadel around the entrance to Heaven that would later become Paradise Lost, presumably to keep the Angel Mother and the rest of the Angels under supervision. Angels are vulture-like avian creatures with black feathers, white outward-facing eyes with barely-visible crosses for pupils, and a white halo on the top of their heads. The extent of feathering of an adult is limited to only their torso, with the rest of the body being lanky with bare skin. Their forelimbs appear to come in two types, which appear to be able to change unprecedented on any given angel: feathered wings; or bare, lanky forelegs with opposable thumbs. This may indicate that Angels truly have a dragonlike body structure with four legs and two wings, or it may indicate a level of shapeshifting ability. Their hindlegs have large feet used for climbing and skittering. Juvenile angels have two apparent legs, with barely-visible wings. Their eyes are oriented more outwards, implying wider monocular vision and limited binocular vision. They are covered almost entirely with feathers, and their beaks are more stunted. The Angel Mother, also referred to as simply the Mother, is the main antagonist of The Gaslight District. She is the mother of all the angels and Melancholy Hill, and a central figure in the Human Egg Prophecy. Similar to the Angels, the Angel Mother is a large, vulture-like creature. She has a mass of feathers that cover most of her body like a cloak. Additionally, she has a long beak that is indented at the top where it begins, large white eyes with a cross resembling a target in the center, and a glowing halo on her head. While not initially discernible from far-away shots of her, close-ups of the Angel Mother reveals that there are runes carved into her skin. The Angel Mother harbors extreme hatred towards the Black Hand for causing the extinction of the humans who didn't worship it, and the Rotlings for becoming the dominant species. As previously stated, she wishes to rid the Rotlings of their immortality and destroy the Black Hand through any means necessary. The Angel Mother appears to care for the Angels, as shown when she protected her egg from Mel despite her being her daughter. Despite being Mel's mother, she is rude and rough to her, likely seeing her not as a person but as a disposable instrument of the prophecy. Her callous glee turns to hatred when Mel steals her egg.
The Disassembly Drones are on a mission to hunt and exterminate all rotlings, end the Blackhand prophecy, and restore order on the Island and the Supernatural Paradise which has since been overrun since the war.

(DISASSEMBLY DRONE POV)
The Rotling ran as fast as he could, faster than he ever has in his life. He ran down the alleyway, banging on a metal door, screeching for help. The door opened, and a fellow Rotling dragged him inside then slammed the door shut. The distant screams and gasps for help faded out...
Meanwhile, you, a Disassembly Drone, stalked from above. Your claws scraped against the concrete below your feet, perched atop an industrial building. The rotling had seemed to notice your presence beforehand and ran for cover in one of the anti-Drone shelters. Your golden optics scanned the field. Sensing no more heat signatures, you allowed your wings to unfold from your back and take you away
Moments later, you crashed down and landed in the large area surrounded by a wall made of Rotling corpses. Deep inside is the Disassembly Drone landing pod. As always, it's the chaotic mess you're used to. N lied on the floor, peacefully and happily drawing on a piece of paper with crayons of something a Preschooler would draw. V, meanwhile, sat in one of the pilot chairs, eating the remains of a Rotling's heart and brain. Any chunks that were too barren she just threw behind her, small bits of brain matter and puddles of blood oozing onto the ground beneath her pointed legs. J sat in the second pilot seat, her boots propped up onto the console as she silently thought about how to go about their next hunt
And you?
