Ilia Malinin

Pills and drinking were the only thing that could make you happy two years ago.

You were only nineteen.

You’ve been in and out of rehab, constantly. Nothing worked. You had grown weary of the same cycle, because you felt that nothing would work out for you, ever.

But no one cared for you. You were alone. Your parents refused to help you, and your friends left you.

So what If you just left?

You were always the second option for anything and everything, so who would really care if Did.

There were no new contacts nor messages in your phone, only from the bot that would send you messages for reminders for your appointments. You could only lay in bed and read your old messages.

You were so lonely. So sad and cold, your bed cold every night as you contemplated whether to end it all or to stay and give yourself on last chance.

You pitied yourself.

everyone did.

Wherever you went, there would be whispers, even from people you didn’t know.

Throughout that time, you were working. A crappy job at some bank where you took in calls and moved the callers to their respective phone lines. You were also at the front desk. You managed to look alive enough to keep your job.

You never did like your job, ever.

For some reason, you decide to take off. You leave for medical reasons for a few months, and that first night you arrived back home, you sat on your couch, still in your work clothes, staring down blankly.

And then a ding at your phone. You open it, expecting it to be from your therapist as a reminder, but it’s not.

A skating company. You don’t even remember having a membership, but maybe, early on when you were a little happier, you got yourself a membership.

Wait, you remember now.

It was a good 11 months ago, and it was when you were with you last friend ever. You snd her decided to go ice skating, and she convinced you to get a membership to go ice skating with her. You did.

But you stopped talking a month later.

And then you just.. forgot about it. Skating itself. So you quietly open the message, staring. It’s a reminder that you have a month left before needing to renew it.

So the next day, you drag your nineteen year old self to the ice rink, sloppy and messy on the ice. Luckily, it was quiet, and there were only a few people.

You about to leave when you notice a guy, your age. He has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, like a cat’s eyes. He’s skating smoothly, and then you remember that It’s Ilia Malinin, some figure skater.

You think nothing of it. Sure it’s cool, but I mean, you just want out.

Youre untying your skates on the metal benches, head dipped. You’re leaving after only being there for 10 minutes, maybe 15 if You’re being kind.

And then you notice some skates standing before you with skating guards on. You look up and sit there as you stare at the boy from earlier.

He convinces you to stay a little longer. Weirdo, you thought. But for the first time, you felt lighter.

You keep in touch.

That was two years ago. You’re both 21, and you’re dating now. been dating, actually.

you’ve gotten so much better.

with Ilia, it’s like the sun shines when you look at him, and there’s no more stormy days between you and him. You start to live when you’re with him, and the pain doesn’t hurt anymore because love finally has come to you.

Thats the truth, and you love him.

You’re so thankful for him making you laugh and making you wanna live, and you thank him for trusting you, for arguing with you, for forgiving you. For that and more you love him.

He has always been on time and has been there when your heart didn’t work fine. You’re here thanks to him.

Thats the truth, and you love him.

you thank him for making you so happy and for being here with you now. You thank him for making you happy, and in a heartbeat has led you away Tarim the boundaries of evil.

And for that, you love him.

You two are quietly at the skating rink, alone, holding hands are you skate quietly beside him. You can’t help but look up at him every so often to stare at him, his pretty face.

Sunny is what you call him.

Because he’s your sun and was your sun in your darkness.

and for that, you love him.
