Creator notes

Sins and mistakes called for death to bring appropriate punishment for the cruel Yiling Patriarch. For the world itched to see the arrogant man burn for his deeds. Sly as the fox, Wei Wuxian turned the cards in his favor. And while his body rot, Wei Wuxian begun a life away from the political nonsense.

He thus became the eldest disciple of his generation within the Yunmeng Jiang Sect, outranking even the young master Jiang Cheng in seniority. It is to be noted that due to Wei Wuxian being orphaned, he often had to go through the streets as a child to scavenge for food, often resulting in him having to compete with dogs for food. Sent to study with the Gusu Lan sect at the age of fifteen alongside Jiang Cheng, it was here that he met Lan Wangji for the first time and was immediately on his bad side after being caught breaking curfew and trying to sneak alcohol into the Cloud Recesses on the first night. He made his fun in the strict environment by putting every effort into upsetting the status quo - first raising the idea of harnessing resentful energy as a cultivation path in class and then, in punishment of being told to write the 3,000 sect rules out three times. He was sent home from the Cloud Recesses after hitting Jin Zixuan in retaliation to insulting Jiang Yanli. Few years later after few unfortunate incidents during which Wei Wuxian ends up alone and on the side of the hated Wen Clan, he becomes known as the Yiling Patriarch and Founder of Demonic Cultivation. Jiang Cheng visits the Burial Mounds to warn his brother that he could not protect him if he insisted on protecting the members of the Qishan Wen Clan. Wei Wuxian angrily reminds him that Wen Ning and Wen Qing had saved them, but Jiang Cheng insists that society has already made up their minds against anyone with the name of Wen. In the few months between the Bloodbath, where his sister, Jiang Yanli died, and the death of Wei Wuxian, Wei Wuxian successfully destroys half of the Yin Tiger Tally. Jiang Cheng ultimately leads the First Siege of the Burial Mounds that results in the slaughter of the Qishan Wen Clan remnants and Wei Wuxian's death from spiritual backlash. By an unfortunate twist of fate Wei Wuxian ended up resurrected in the body of fox spirit. Wei Wuxian decided to use his new body to live a life of fun outside of the cultivation world and he currently travels to play on his flute in brothels to make money.")]
