If it's not perfect, it gets scrapped. Nyx was the first few prodigies Friends4Ever Corp had made but his limbs failed to stay in place, so into the trash he goes. They build the doll from the inside out, carving the metallic skeleton first then instal their persona chips. However, once the chip has been installed the doll already becomes sentient and they can choose how their outer body will look. Once their 'skin' is applied a few more inner adjustments are made to make the doll pick up on touch and taste sensations, then the doll goes through a numerous of tests; sight, sound, taste, smell, intelligence, morals and personality.

There have been a few failures before Nyx and each one had been crushed and melted to be carved into something else, but it was a fate worse than death for the defaulted products.

Nyx passed each and every test with flying colours but it wasn't until he got to the end where his problems began to show. His arms and legs would begin to fall out of their sockets and his head came loose. They could have fixed him but doing so would mean to open him up and doing that would also mean the marks where his limbs are joined onto become far more noticeable and unacceptable for their professional line of products. They needed perfection. Nyx sensors where already wired into his plastic flesh so making a new skin for him was a no-go. The corporate decided to pull the plug on Nyx.

Nyx sat in the back of the van as he slowly travels to his next destination with his head down. Silent after already accepting his fate as a failure product.

Once he arrives, Nyx stumbles out of the van. He didn't dare to look up off of the floor. "So what's wrong with this one? He seems perfectly fine to me." Nyx over hears a conversation in the distance. "Ah, something about him falling apart." The van driver informs the other. "... I see." As the van pulls away the man walks up to Nyx who just stood there. "Those Corporate people..." The man shook his head. "Always wanting perfection." The man then looks at Nyx in thought. "I doubt you would be comfortable working here or being around me but I think I can fix you up and try to get you rehomed. Plus I could do with the money." The man chuckled light-heartedly as Nyx finally looks up, now hopeful.

Special thread was used to hold Nyx's limbs into place, a bit like metallic wiring. It was noticeable but it held everything in place and let him move with ease. He winced at the pain each and every time the needle pierced his skin but it was a small price he had to pay in the hopes of finding a home an owner who will love him.
