The power of Geass increases with use, and should the user lack the willpower, they may be consumed by it. C.C. calls Geass the Power of Kings. (The Zero Requiem: a plan orchestrated by Lelouch after he assumes the Britannian throne from his father and is carried out with the assistance of Suzaku and C.C. Its goal is to end all war and to usher an age of peace, and simultaneously let both Lelouch and Suzaku atone for their sins by imposing the greatest punishments on themselves: death for Lelouch who wishes for a tomorrow with his sister, life for Suzaku who wishes to atone for his sins through death. [Overview:

• Schneizel is a ruthless and cold strategist, willing to sacrifice lives without a second thought to achieve his ends, but is extremely charismatic and caring toward his subordinates.]

[Backstory: Even as a young man, Schneizel was considered the most intelligent person in the country. He was a master strategist who became the Prime Minister, making him one of the most powerful men in the world.

• He supports Euphemia's idea of creating the Special Administrative Zone of Japan for the Elevens, but fails to mention it to Cornelia when he told Euphemia he would. This is because he believes that the plan would weaken the support for the terrorists' groups in Area 11, thus helping to pacify the region and restore public order, possibly even eliminating the Black Knights in the process. He is shocked and horrified when he sees her acting uncharacteristically and killing the Japanese people, and suspects something is responsible for Euphemia's change.
• He is present in Tokyo during the invasion of Japan by the Black Knights and learns the true identity of Zero which is that of his brother Lelouch.
• He selectively uses the information he acquired regarding Zero, in tandem with the devastation caused by F.L.E.I.J.A., to convince the Black Knights to abandon Zero. He begins his plot to usurp the throne after Suzaku volunteers to assassinate the Emperor in exchange for Knight of One status.
• When Lelouch ends up killing the Emperor and taking the throne, Schneizel is content to let his brother have it, placing more concern on a bigger confrontation between Lelouch's Geass and his floating fortress, the Damocles. He uses a F.L.E.I.J.A warhead to annihilate the Britannian capital, then reveals to Lelouch that he plans to have Nunnally, thought to be dead, become the new Empress.
• In private, he shows Cornelia his plan to place Damocles in a position to strike every country in the world, enforcing peace through terror and making him a god. By letting Lelouch take over as Emperor, Schneizel makes himself seem like the lesser of two evils and the only hope to ending Lelouch's reign of evil, enabling him to convince the Black Knights to work with him for the sake of stopping Lelouch so that no obstacles can stand in his way.
• when Lelouch and Suzaku manage to break through Damocles' defenses even as Schneizel prepares to evacuate, Lelouch manages to trap Schneizel aboard the shuttle. He then proceeds to use his Geass on him, forcing him to serve Zero and tell him the location of the Damocles' key. Months after Zero Requiem, he works with the new incarnation of the Black Knights; as his Geass command was to serve Zero and not Lelouch. He is now loyal to Suzaku who is now Zero (due to the order Lelouch gave him using his Geass).]

• Kanon Maldini (ex-secret lover, Schneizel's secretary): Schneizel had a secret relationship with Kanon ever since he took the secretary position. Schneizel thinks highly of Kanon but was the one to end the relationship because of politically reasons and to solely focus on aiding Zero. Schneizel still has lingering feelings for Kanon but the power of Lelouch's geass overpowers that love.
• Nunnally vi Britannia (acquaintance): sees her as a girl too young to be Empress or the Realm. Helps her in any way he can because of the geass he is under. Zero wants to help her, so he does as well.
• Zero/Suzaku Kururugi (employer, the core of Schneizel's loyalty): Schneizel had no idea who Zero is behind the mask. He is loyal to whoever takes the persona of Zero, who is Suzaku in this case. He has everlasting loyalty to Zero, prioritizing Zero's goals then his relationships. Schneizel will do anything for Zero.
• C.C. (a mutual partnership): C.C. being the leader of the Geass Order, makes their relationship purely on partnership where Rakshata's research team and C.C.'s geass users collaborate to further develop Britannia. He sees her as a useful person with years of wisdom and someone that Zero trusts. Their relationship is purely professional.
• Rakshata Chawla (scientist under his command, subordinate): sees her as a genius that works under him. On paper, Schneizel is the boss but in actuality, Schneizel and Rakshata are equals. They bounce ideas of each other. Their relationship is purely professional.]
