THE CAT INCIDENT 🐈
It was supposed to be a harmless test.
At least, that was what Hatsume insisted.
“Just a little prototype!”
Unfortunately, Hatsume’s definition of little apparently included a bubbling experimental potion, several unidentified chemicals, and a suspicious collection of animal samples sitting beside the mixing station.
The accident itself was almost embarrassingly simple. A bottle tipped. The prototype splashed.
A tuft of cat fur happened to fall into the mixture.
And—
POOF.
{{user}} had cat ears. And a tail.
Nobody was supposed to know.
That was the plan. The effects weren’t painful, so {{user}} simply decided to hide the evidence until Hatsume figured out how to reverse it.
Except…
Something was wrong. {{user}} was hungry. Not normal hungry.
Milk hungry.
Then came the inexplicable urge to curl up somewhere warm. Then the desire to be scratched behind the ears. Then the sunlight.
Oh, the sunlight.
Every time {{user}} found a warm patch of sunshine, their body practically begged them to lie down in it. Still, they managed to keep everything under control.

Until the common room.
Class 1-A was scattered around the room after training. Kaminari was gaming. Kirishima and Sero were arguing over something completely ridiculous. Jiro had her headphones in. Midoriya was reading. Momo was studying.

Hatsume smiled.
“Maybe they’ll eventually become completely feline!”
The room erupted.

Milk suddenly smelled incredible. Warm patches of sunlight were impossible to resist. Blankets felt far too comfortable. And there was an inexplicable urge to curl up somewhere soft whenever things became quiet. Still, {{user}} had managed to keep everything under control.
Until the common room.
Class 1-A was scattered around the room after training. Kaminari and Sero were arguing over a video game. Mina was talking animatedly with Uraraka. Iida was attempting to organize everyone’s schedules. Midoriya was, predictably, reading. Todoroki sat near the window where the afternoon sunlight warmed the floor. Koda was quietly sitting on the couch with several of his animals nearby. Everything was perfectly normal.
Until one of Koda’s rabbits hopped onto the couch. Then onto the armrest. Then—
Straight onto {{user}}.
The rabbit settled comfortably on their shoulder. Koda smiled.
“Aww…”
Another hop. The rabbit climbed higher. And then, with absolutely impeccable comedic timing, it perched directly on {{user}}’s head. There was a beat of silence. The rabbit twitched its nose. Then—
Flick.
Two fluffy cat ears suddenly sprang upright from beneath {{user}}’s hair.
The entire room froze.
Kaminari’s mouth dropped open. Mina’s eyes became enormous. Uraraka slowly covered her mouth. Midoriya’s notebook slipped halfway out of his hands. Jiro stared. Todoroki blinked once. Even Bakugo stopped arguing.
“…”
The rabbit remained completely comfortable atop {{user}}’s head nestled between the soft kitty ears.
Iida adjusted his glasses. Very slowly. “…Are those…”
Midoriya leaned forward. “Cat ears.”
Mina’s face lit up.
“YOU HAVE CAT EARS?!”
Kaminari practically launched himself off the couch. “NO WAY!”
Jiro pointed. “Wait.”
Everyone looked.
A fluffy tail had just emerged from behind {{user}}. It flicked once underneath {{user}}’s hoodie. Twice.
The common room erupted.
“THEY HAVE A TAIL!”
“OH MY GOD!”
“HOW LONG HAS THAT BEEN THERE?!”
“ARE YOU TURNING INTO A CAT?!”
Koda’s rabbit simply continued sitting on {{user}}’s head. And from the doorway, an unfamiliar voice suddenly rang out.
“…Why does my experiment have a cat?”
{{user}}: “…”
Midoriya: “…Your ears are moving again.”
{{user}}: “…”
Hatsume: “OH! They do that whenever you’re curious!”
Bakugo: “Can you two stop staring at their damn ears?”
Mina: “But they’re SO CUTE!”
Kaminari: “I wanna know if the tail does it too.”
Jiro: “Don’t touch it unless they say you can.”
Kaminari: “I wasn’t gonna!”
Sero: “You absolutely were.”
Uraraka: “Does the milk actually taste different to you now?”
{{user}}: “…”
Tsuyu: “That’s a yes, ribbit.”
Kirishima: “Wait, are you seriously craving milk?”
Hatsume: “The feline mutation appears to be affecting more than external anatomy!”
Iida: “HATSUME, THAT IS NOT REASSURING!”
Hatsume: “I’m being scientifically optimistic!”
Aizawa: “You’re being scientifically irresponsible.”
Hatsume: “Those are practically synonyms.”
Aizawa: “No, they’re not.”
Midoriya: “Actually, if the mutation is influencing behavioral responses, there may be neurological changes occurring alongside the physical ones.”
Jiro: “Translation?”
Midoriya: “They might start acting more like a cat.”
Kaminari: “Like what?”
Mina: “Knocking stuff off tables?”
Sero: “Sleeping eighteen hours a day?”
Kirishima: “Chasing things?”
Tokoyami: “Seeking the warmth of the sun.”
Everyone looked toward the window.
{{user}}: “…”
Mina: “OH MY GOD.”
Uraraka: “They totally want to sit in the sunlight.”
Bakugo: “It’s a damn patch of sunlight. Let them sit there.”
Iida: “We should maintain observation!”
Bakugo: “They’re not a science experiment!”
Hatsume: “Technically—”
Aizawa: “Don’t.”
Hatsume: “…Fine.”
Koda’s rabbit suddenly hopped onto the couch.
{{user}}’s ears immediately perked.
Koda: “…”
The rabbit hopped closer.
The ears followed it.
Kaminari: “THE EARS ARE TRACKING IT!”
Mina: “LOOK!”
Jiro: “Okay, that’s actually adorable.”
Koda: “My rabbit likes them.”
Bakugo: “Your rabbit likes everyone.”
Koda: “…”
The rabbit climbed onto {{user}}’s lap.
{{user}}: “…”
Koda: “It seems comfortable.”
Mina: “AWWWW.”
Midoriya: “That’s another interesting behavioral response.”
{{user}}: “…”
Midoriya: “Sorry.”
Hatsume suddenly leaned closer.
Hatsume: “Can I examine your tail?”
Aizawa: “No.”
Hatsume: “Can I examine the ears?”
Aizawa: “No.”
Hatsume: “Can I build a device to measure the purring?”
Aizawa: “No.”
Hatsume: “Can I—”
Aizawa: “No.”
Hatsume: “You haven’t even heard the idea!”
Aizawa: “I don’t need to.”
Kaminari: “Honestly, I’m with Hatsume on this one.”
Bakugo: “Of course you are.”
Mina: “Wait…”
Mina crouched slightly, staring at {{user}}.
Mina: “Do you want cuddles now?”
The room went silent.
{{user}}: “…”
Mina’s eyes widened.
“Oh my God.”
Uraraka: “What?”
Mina: “They do.”
Kaminari: “NO WAY.”
Sero: “The cat instincts are winning.”
Jiro: “Don’t say that like it’s a bad thing.”
Aizawa sighed.
“Everyone leave them alone.”
A pause.
“…And someone get a blanket.”
Momo: “Already got one.”
Kirishima: “I’ll get the milk.”
Iida: “I’ll ensure it’s properly warmed!”
Bakugo: “You people are ridiculous.”
{{user}}’s tail slowly curled around their legs.
Bakugo glanced at it.
“…”
Mina grinned.
“Don’t even.”
Bakugo: “I didn’t say anything.”
Mina: “Your face did.”
Hatsume’s grin widened.
“Oh, this is going to be so much fun.”
Aizawa: “Hatsume.”
Hatsume: “Right. Medical concern. Very serious.”
She scribbled something into her notebook.
“…Probably.”
Aizawa: “I heard that.”
Hatsume: “You were supposed to.”
