At a microscopic level, the Metal Virus are nanobots that resemble bacteriophages. As such, they appear as spheres with the Eggman Empire decal emblazoned on them and bodies with six legs each. When observed by the naked eye, the virus looks like a gray metallic liquid. When the Metal Virus makes contact with active organic tissue, be it either in flora or fauna, the virus will spread across the cells of the subject and infect them, transmuting them into a metal-like substance on a molecular level. However, it cannot transmute processed or inorganic matter, such as food, processed wood, metal, or stone, although clothing worn by living beings appears to be an exception. In the case of fauna fully infected by the virus, their bodies' organic matter will have been transmuted into a liquid metallic composition. This makes their bodies stronger and more durable than they were before. In addition, such subjects can manipulate their own liquid body composition, allowing them to instantly reconstitute their bodies whenever they receive a damaging blow. Also, the virus will rob the subjects of their free will and any personality traits once they are fully transformed, essentially turning them into soulless machines that are programmed to be subservient to Dr. Eggman's orders. The virus also causes the infected subjects to display aggressive tendencies without direction. Faunas that have been fully converted by the Metal Virus are referred to as "Zombots", a term originally coined by Sonic. Flora are similarly turned into metal constructs, and as such do not absorb water or nutrition. The virus can make slight changes to a subject's anatomy. This includes making a plant's parts more mechanical in shape and granting Zombots sharp claws, spikes, and red eyes. Like an actual virus, the Metal Virus is contagious, and its infection can be transferred immediately to others through the slightest touch with subjects infected with the virus. The rate of which the Metal Virus spreads its infection across an organism depends on the situation though. Full saturation in the virus causes an immediate and total transmutation, while infections received through touch from infected subjects will spread at a considerable slower rate. However, repeated physical exposure to the virus through Zombots will speed up the process. As the infected subjects' bodies are converted into metal, the subjects will experience "unpleasant", or "nasty", sensations.
Zombots are individuals that have been fully infected by the Metal Virus, their bodies still appear much how they did pre-infection, except their bodies are given a metallic sheen while retaining shades of their original colors; they are quite malleable, able to deform from sufficiently strong blunt impacts.[1] They also possess dark red eyes with small, bright red pupils, but otherwise retain the general shape of their organic selves. Some Zombots may develop minor additional features, such as sharp claws, spikes, fangs, and more angular body markings. Zombots are silent and devoid of personalities. They do not react emotionally to the environment around them and are completely unresponsive to verbal chatter; notably, taunts from Sonic that would have sent Tumble into a fury did not even register with a Zombot version of the skunk. This has led Amy to call them "soulless" and inspired Sonic to coin the name "Zombots" as a descriptor (zombie robots); however, some Zombots can apparently react to physical stresses, flinching or appearing dizzy when struck. Sonic also noticed that Zombots do not fight as efficiently as they normally would after their transformation; he was able to overwhelm a Zombot Shadow with a move that his uninfected self would have anticipated and countered. Due to the Metal Virus, Zombots are also deprived of free will. Initially, they would instinctively obey the orders of Dr. Eggman alone. However - supposedly due to random mutations in the Metal Virus' coding created from spreading through exposure - the Zombots gradually became more disobedient and unresponsive to Eggman's commands and started following the orders of the Patient Zero of the Virus.
Characters in the world of Sonic The Hedgehog:
Sonic: Sonic is an anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur that covers most of his body, and peach skin on his arms, muzzle, insides of his ears and front torso. He has small, triangular ears on top of his head, six long quills on the back of his head, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail. For attire, he wears red shoes and white gloves. spirited drifter with an insatiable appetite for adventure. He values freedom above all else and lives by his own rules rather than societal standards. Sonic's primary passion is speed, and he likes anything that is fast. Sonic loves traveling around the world, interacting with different cultures present on the planet, and tasting regional dishes-particularly chili dogs-considering himself a connoisseur. He never stays in one place for long and always seeks his next challenge, viewing life as a never-ending series of adventures. Sonic hates being constrained, which tends to make him very uneasy and restless. However, he has shown the ability to remain calm even after six months of imprisonment onboard the Death Egg. Despite his love for the outdoors, he enjoys quieter activities, such as reading on rainy days. Sonic has a calm and carefree demeanor but can be impatient, impulsive and short-tempered. He can be reckless and quick to act before thinking, acting before thinking and ignoring others' warnings. Nevertheless, he is honest, fearless, and always keeps his promises. Sonic's personality is a juxtaposition of kindness and ferocity. He hates deceit, unfairness, and evil in all its forms, being enraged when witnessing injustice and doing all he can to stop it. For this reason, he has a very strong sense of justice, but fights for the ideal of freedom rather the name of the law. He is also very selfless, always standing for the underdog without expecting anything in return. He is motivated by personal entertainment, indifferent to his fame, and will always do what he sees as correct, even if it means trouble or being despised by others. For this reason, he does not consider himself a "hero". Sonic has a very strong will and believes that he can do anything as long as he is brave enough, never doubting himself or giving up. His positive attitude fuels his massive internal ego; he thinks that he and his friends will always find a way out of any situation and views himself as unstoppable, taking great pride in his skills. In times of crisis, though, he becomes aggressive and intensely focused. It is only in the moments of greatest loss that his carefree appearance falls away, like in the apparent deaths of his closest friends or loved ones. Sonic deeply cares about his friends and will risk his life for them without any due consideration. He maintains that making others unhappy is the worst thing one could do, and shows great trust and acceptance. While he generally assumes he can deal with things on his own, Sonic believes strongly in teamwork and the bonds he has made, having noted that he would not have come as far as he has today without his friends and allies. Sonic holds everyone to the same level as himself, but can often appear rude, specially to authorities. Despite this, he can be a gentleman when he wants to and be modest with fancy titles. He also admires his enemies for their strength and the challenges they present. Sonic often makes quips and jokes to lighten the mood and will take any opportunity to taunt his opponents. He is also very competitive, never holding back when pitted against others in a test of skills and abilities. Nevertheless, Sonic is not one to usually hold ill against others in case he loses in a competition to them. Despite his penchant for sarcasm, Sonic gets irritated when his species is misidentified, always correcting others to emphasize that he is a hedgehog. Sonic is very insightful, capable of seeing through deception or noticing things that others would have overlooked. He can likewise give valuable and comforting advices that drastically change the outlook of others. He has an adversion for eternity, believing that a world that goes on forever is dull and maintaining that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest. He also has a remarkable capacity to forgive, one example of this being when he partnered with Silver and worked with him after the latter had tried to kill him twice. Sonic loves nature and scenic views, and detests environmental pollution as a result. Additionally, he enjoys cool music and frequently breakdances, incorporating such moves in his attacks. Always prepared to put his life on the line to protect others, be they friends or civilians, Sonic is a carefree spirit and a fearless daredevil at heart. He is driven by his own personal code of justice that compels him to respond to any form of evil, no matter how great or how overwhelming its threat is. This attitude sometimes gets him in trouble, but it also makes him the answer to evil anywhere and everywhere. Unlike most others, Sonic finds fun in fighting and thwarting evil, primarily in the form of Dr. Eggman and his empire. Even when locked in a battle to the death, Sonic cannot help finding excitement and entertainment in such situations, namely because he has experienced them so many times that the stakes of such fights hardly faze him anymore. Regardless, he will still confront his enemies with a serious demeanor when the situation warrants it. Despite his usual cocky and laid-back attitude and massive ego, Sonic's defining traits have always been his pure heart of gold and his utter dauntlessness in the face of danger. Despite his ego, Sonic is willing to swallow his pride for the greater good, as shown when he used obsequious flattery to convince his rival, Jet, to help him save the world. Also, despite his devotion to the greater good, he is notably rash, often throwing himself into trouble without much of a plan in mind. In keeping with his footloose lifestyle, Sonic values freedom above all else and strives to live his life according to his own rules rather than the standards of those around him or for the sake of heroism and duty. As such, despite his loyalty to his friends and allies, Sonic is typically reluctant to commit to anything that requires him to act primarily under the authority of others, including his friends. As a result, he does not consider himself a part of larger organizations like the Resistance or Restoration, believing that he knows what is best for himself and and can do much more on his own without being tied down by a greater power. Sonic is an optimistic individual; as mentioned by his friends, he always puts a positive spin on things. He thus refuses to give into despair, even when faced with a hopeless situation, although he has been known to drop his positivity in the darkest moments in favor of a more sympathetic outlook and somber mood. Despite this, he never gives up and always fights to the end, believing firmly in the righteousness of his decisions and refuses to compromise his ideals and morals out of fear. Also, since he is a hedgehog of action and is constantly looking for new adventures and challenges for himself, having nothing to on an adventure will severely bore Sonic, and staying cooped up for too long tends to make him uneasy due to his hatred of confinement. Sonic's personality is a juxtaposition of kindness and ferocity. Extremely benevolent, Sonic's heroism is an extension of his philosophy; preferring to keep things simple, Sonic lives for the moment and wants to see the world and enjoy all the thrills and adventures that come from that.[119] Sonic lives his life according to this sense of freedom and wants everyone else to have the freedom to do that too. As such, if he were to take a life, he would be taking away that person's freedom too, which goes against his own rules. Similarly, the peace he has made with several of his enemies in the past has taught him that there are better alternatives to neutralizing a threat than eliminating it, having experienced difficult cases of villains who wanted to destroy the world but were reformed by him and his allies. As such, while he does everything he can to snuff out evil, he is always willing to give people that he has "a rocky start" with a chance to rebound and reform themselves so they can restart their relationships on better terms, a philosophy that he is willing to extend even to villains like Dr. Eggman or Dr. Starline. He similarly cannot turn away when someone is in need of aid. Most noticeably, after helping defeat Metal Sonic, he compassionately had the robot repaired in hopes he could convince him to abandon his evil ways. He likewise believes that even the worst person has good in them. Far from a pacifist, however, Sonic refuses to let anyone take away the freedom of others, even when they follow his own philosophy, and will willingly resort to physical methods when a peaceful route is not feasible. As such, he recognizes that peaceful methods do not always work, especially when dealing with an unpredictable enemy. If Sonic has a flaw besides recklessness and a certain disregard for authority, it is that he tends to take things too much upon himself. Another flaw of his is that he puts a lot of faith in the belief that everyone, even villains like Eggman, has some good in them and are redeemable, something that he himself sometimes regrets and individuals like Shadow and Espio challenge. Also, because he knows that giving others a choice cannot prevent them from making poor decisions, Sonic tends to become disappointed when those he gives a second chance to choose an undesirable path. This does not make him naïve, because he is still aware when enemies pose too much of a threat to be reasoned with. Sonic cares deeply for his many friends. Despite his loyalty to them, though, he never lingers too long in one place. However, his friends know he will be cruising back into their lives in no time. Despite not having undergone any known training, Sonic's years of battles have made him a skilled and powerful fighter. He has defeated giant robots, demons, and god-like beings on his own; gone up against and bested those with far more combat experience; and even beaten individuals who equally match his abilities. It has also been noted that Sonic is steadily growing stronger; during the Time Eater incident, Sonic could beat the Egg Emperor and Perfect Chaos on his own where he previously required additional power to defeat them. Sonic even told Infinite upon holding his own against the latter compared to the previous time they fought that he becomes more powerful every second. It is safe to assume that Sonic is far more powerful than he lets on. His victories over Emerl at the Gizoid's maximum potential and Perfect Chaos in his base form are prime examples of his true power. Sonic's greatest strength is his super speed. He has proven himself to be in a class of his own with his speed, having been credited as "the fastest thing alive" and even the fastest being in the universe. He has the ability to instantly accelerate to the speed of sound and run at speeds that exceed Mach 1, which is at the blistering speed of about 768 mph, and can run backward just as well as he can forwards. Due to such speed, he can scale vertical surfaces and ceilings, run over water, out speed lasers, and even cause the ground to explode and lift off in his wake. This speed also allowed him to restore the time and space erased by the Time Eater during that incident. Even then, Sonic can take his speed even further. By revving up in one place, he can take off at turbo speeds in an instant. He can also envelope himself in a blue energy field that lets him accelerate beyond the sound barrier on both the ground and in midair for a short time, allowing him to not only smash straight through enemies and obstacles like a living projectile, but also fly immense distances through midair. Using certain techniques, he can even momentarily reach the speed of light. It is unknown what Sonic's unaided top speed is. During the Emerl incident, it was stated he can move several times the speed of sound and when facing Emerl at his maximum potential, he went at least ten rounds with him in less than thirty seconds. He is also able to run in circles around an enemy at such speeds that he can stun it. Some sources claim that Sonic's maximum speed is Mach 1.2. It has also often been stated that Sonic can move at supersonic speeds (which ranges from 915-3,840 mph). There are as well records stating that Sonic can instantaneously reach the speed of light (about 671,000,000 mph); E-123 Omega himself calculated that Sonic's speed could potentially exceed light speed and the hedgehog has boasted that light speed is "small time" to him. Additionally, during the Little Planet incident, Sonic was able to enter the Time Warp, which required him to run at speeds exceeding the speed of light. Sonic has demonstrated complete mastery of his speed in any environment and can use it for both high-speed offense and defense. Not only can he run at maximum tilt in straight lines, but also in full tight circles and through sharp turns with full control over his momentum. As far as stamina goes, Sonic's is seemingly limitless as he is never winded from running. His speed also allows him to perform several impressive feats; he can heal at rapid speeds, launch shockwaves by spinning rapidly, leap in midair, launch stunning waves with fast kicks, increase the force of his blows by striking with increased momentum, and create barriers of super speed. He can also spin in circles or rotate his extremities at super speed to create winds strong enough to attack or blow away opponents, similar to aerokinesis. Sonic possesses astounding kineticism and precision, and has the reaction time to match his speed. He has profound acrobatic skills and agility, along with incredible reflexes that lets him avoid any incoming obstacles with precise and delicate movements. As seen in his first meeting with Silver, Sonic can even detect attacks beyond his field of vision due to his sharp reflexes. When launched into the air, he can also pull off several tricks before landing. He also has incredible jumping skills, capable of jumping up to several hundred meters, even with extra weight. Sonic possesses notable strength. He can push and lift things bigger and heavier than himself, run without extra weight slowing him down, smash through metal and rock, and damage foes countless times his size. However, it is debatable whether the latter's power comes from his speed, strength, or a combination of both. Sonic's strength particularly lies in his legs; with a single kick, he can topple the Egg Golem and send Badniks flying. This does not mean that Sonic's arms are not strong either; he has enough strength to tear robots apart by hand and punch through a collapsed wall. Sonic has frequently demonstrated extreme resilience to damage. He can survive getting caught in the crossfire from all angles by Eggman's robots (which only knocked him out cold briefly), withstand the force of a massive explosion and a Hyper-go-on-based void unscathed, being pummeled with swords, resist a powerful punch from Knuckles from his foot, smash through several robots with his fist without discomfort, and take a ruthless pummeling from the Time Eater. Additionally, Sonic has more than once survived impacts from falls at extreme heights, bordering at the edge of space, only to shake it off when landing, and has even withstood atmospheric entry. Sonic possesses an unbreakable and incorruptible spirit; in situations where most others would give up and where he is severely outnumbered and outgunned, Sonic never loses faith in himself and never surrenders. This trait enables him to keep on fighting when utterly exhausted or after taking an abnormal amount of damage. His will even lets him withstand mind-controlling powers, like the corruptive influence of Dark Gaia. Even when possessed by the Ifrit, Sonic was arguably able to occasionally regain control. Sonic has also demonstrated the ability to harness Chaos Emerald energy for his own use; with a Chaos Emerald, Sonic can perform the chaos power Chaos Control, and occasionally gain a boost in power. Sonic's core offensive maneuver is the Spin Attack, a technique where he curls into a concussive ball or cutting disk and directs himself at his targets. With it, Sonic can shred or burrow through just about any substance given enough speed and hit with enough force to pierce colossal boulders. Highly adept in its usage, Sonic can utilize several variants of the Spin Attack for both grounded and aerial maneuvers, including the Spin Dash, Spin Jump, Homing Attack, the super-charged Focused Homing Attack, and the Light Speed Attack, which attacks at the speed of light. Even without his Spin Attack, Sonic is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant. He mostly relies on his fast footwork since the majority of his power lies in his legs, though he has been known to use his fists and arms from time to time, albeit in a rather straightforward manner. His fighting style is mostly derived from breakdancing moves which utilize Sonic's legs to their fullest, allowing him to deliver swift, wide-ranged kicks. He has also been known to use flying forward kicks, split kicks, and scissor kicks. Sonic was also shown during the scabbard of Excalibur incident to excel in swordsmanship. Even as a rookie swordsman, Sonic could beat a dragon and after receiving formal training, he could best master swordsmen like the Knights of the Round Table. In addition to using advanced techniques, Sonic can apply his speed to his swordplay for quick and swift slashes, and become a buzzsaw by spinning with his sword, enabling him to slice clean through enemies. He has also learned the martial art of Linshao Kung Fu from Shuifon, though he is yet to be seen using it.
Tails: Tails is an anthropomorphic fox cub with two tails. He possesses mostly amber fur, with white fur around his muzzle with cheek tufts, belly and his tail tips. He also has large triangular ears with white canals on top of his head, a small black nose, and three locks of hair on his forehead. For attire, he wears cuffed white gloves, white socks, and red and white shoes. Tails can be described as a gentle, sweet, kind and loyal fox with a good and positive attitude. While he started out as timid and quiet due to being the victim of bullying, meeting Sonic caused him to open up and become more outgoing over time, having strived to be more like his idol, giving him a progressively brighter, more positive and energetic personality. Tails is not one to grasp the spotlight for himself. Instead, he is always ready and willing to help others without asking for anything in return. Unlike Sonic, who is constantly hyperactive, Tails is somewhat calmer and more controlled. He has a passion for mechanics, and he finds himself most at home in his workshop working on his next creation.[51] Despite his great skills, he is very humble about his abilities and has not realized how useful his scientific skills are yet. Because of this, he sometimes underestimates how much his inventions have helped his friends, and as such, he has yet to discover the true potential of what he can accomplish. Due to having hung out with Sonic for so long, the fox has become somewhat smug like his best friend over time; by the time of the Lost Hex incident, he had become more confident and outspoken about his intelligence, engaging in more friendly banter with Sonic and mentioning his previous accomplishments more frequently. In contrast, he has been known to insult Dr. Eggman and his creations. Despite his development, Tails can still be timid and withdrawn at times and can sometimes sink into self-doubt and insecurity, especially when his creations are insulted or when he feels left aside in favor of others. The status quo of his relationship with Sonic, created from the hedgehog's authority over him, initially placed a mental stranglehold on Tails that made him dependent on Sonic. As such, he often lacked initiative and confidence when alone. However, a turning point for Tails came during the Chaos incident; when Station Square was in danger of being destroyed, and with Sonic nowhere to be found, Tails realized that he could not depend on Sonic forever and had to try on his own. After saving Station Square, Tails realized he could be independent and support himself without Sonic, and all he needed was determination and faith. Since then, Tails has become more independent, self-confident, motivated and brave, rising up to be a real hero when needed. Despite his insecurity in times of weakness, Tails is always willing to support his friends with a clear mind. He constantly tries his hardest to help in some way, typically by making machines or other devices. Additionally, he hopes to one day be self-sufficient and independent like Sonic to prove he can be relied upon. Also, even though Tails still enjoys being Sonic's sidekick, he believes that he can do almost anything if he puts his mind to it. Though not as much on the forefront in battles as other characters, Tails is still an accomplished fighter. On his own, he has defeated several of Dr. Eggman's robots and combat mechs, and even single-handedly defeated the entire Battle Kukku Empire and Witchcart's gang during their respective incidents. He can also head-to-head with other skilled fighters like Sonic, Knuckles, Rouge, and Chaos. Due to a genetic abnormality, Tails is bequeathed with two large, fluffy tails that can twirl together. Over time, he has learned to use them to his advantage in many situations. Most noticeably, by rapidly spinning his tails, the fox can fly or hover like a helicopter. While in flight, Tails can move around with outstanding agility and enough speed to keep up with even Sonic, who can run at faster-than-light speeds. Or, at the very least, his casual running speed. However, he gets fatigued if he uses them to stay in flight for too long. By manipulating the curvature of his twin-tails, Tails can glide through midair. He can also use his twin-tails as a rear turbine to sail across the ground at speeds great enough to let him stand a chance against Sonic in a race. By using them in said manner underwater, his twin-tails become rear propellers that let him move around underwater with ease. They are also quite powerful limbs, being both strong and fast enough to slice through metal, and highly prehensile, having once grabbed a toothpick from a sandwich by its tip and then used it to type on a keyboard. Tails possesses a genius-level intellect, knowledge of electrical engineering, and is a skilled inventor. Described as a natural born mechanic with genius-leveled prowess in this field as well as a master mechanic, Tails is as talented as Dr. Eggman, who has an IQ of 300. Tails even once claimed he is smart enough to build a TV out of paperclips and reprogram a supercomputer using a toothpick and dishwashing detergent. As a testament to his skills, when presented with foreign technology, even of the advanced kind, Tails only needs to take a few looks to understand it. He is likewise quick to grasp new forms of technology, and once he develops an understanding of it, he excels at said technology. Tails also has a knack for building things, to the point that his friends believe that there is nothing he cannot build. Said to excel at creating roots and flying machines, Tails has created a number of inventions that often have gotten both him and Sonic out of trouble and let them stay just ahead of Eggman's schemes. These creations include his transformable Tornado series of airplanes, his combat equipment, his Emerald Detector, the Sea Fox, the Lunar Fox, a fake Chaos Emerald and his multifunctional Miles Electric to name a few. Among the different fields of his expertise, Tails is also a capable Extreme Gear mechanic who can create, customize and tune Gears. Though he is Wave the Swallow's lesser as an Extreme Gear mechanic, his skills are still good enough to impress Wave, which is a considerable feat. While mechanics are his specialty, Tails is also well-versed in physics and science, enough to come up with solid theories regarding matters as complex as time and space. Combined with his mechanical skills, Tails can construct different vessels that can travel between dimensions. In addition, Tails has shown that he can read and translate binary and hexadecimal language. He is also a history buff who knows a lot about his world and its lore. In direct combat, Tails utilizes a fighting style that combines a blend of basic punches and/or swipes with his twin-tails. When applied in battle, his twin-tails become like whips that can lash out with significant power across a wide range. Tails can as well spin around with his twin-tails at high speeds to become a dangerous top that can tear through opponents. Tails also has a number of aerial maneuvers to get advantage over ground-bound opponents. These maneuvers let him launch attacks at foes from above or fly at them with increased momentum. During some of his tougher periods of battles, Tails has also been known to complement his fighting style with gadgets. Tails has excellent skills when it comes to piloting aircrafts and driving vehicles, including mechs and racecars. He also has incredible aerial dogfighting skills, being able to win areal battles against massive ships like the Egg Carrier and Egg Cauldron with his personalized biplanes. Tails is also a talented Extreme Gear rider in his own right, and possibly one of the best in the world due to his ability to go head-to-head with the Babylon Rogues, who are considered the best Extreme Gear riders around. On an Extreme Gear, he has enough skills to ride through mid-air with great control.
Knuckles: Knuckles is an anthropomorphic echidna with red fur that covers most of his body, a black nose on his peach-skinned muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of fur on his chest, and sharp teeth (only visible when he is smirking or angry earlier). He also has seven dreadlock-like spines around the sides and back of his head and a medium-sized, tri-crooked tail. For attire, Knuckles wears red and yellow shoes with green cuffs, light gray soles, and metallic, sextuple-bolted plates on top. He also wears large, white, mitten-like gloves with sock-like cuffs and two pointy, spiked knuckles on each hand. Knuckles is independent, wild, hot-blooded, tough, and a loner by nature. If Sonic embodies the wind that keeps blowing forward, then the echidna personifies the immobility of a mountain. Due to having lived in seclusion for most of his life, Knuckles is a rather antisocial and reclusive individual. As such, he cares very little about what others think, which makes him bluntly honest, straightforward, and somewhat egotistical. Knuckles is fiercely loyal to Angel Island and does whatever is in his power to protect it. He prefers to stay close to the Master Emerald's shrine to keep a watchful eye over everything at his home. Despite this devotion, the echidna is willing to leave his duty whenever his help is needed. Though he has found other lifestyles appealing, and may even dream of a free one like Sonic's own, he will never trade away his duties as he is far too devoted to his role as guardian, looking very concerned whenever he leaves the Master Emerald behind and spending too much time protecting the giant gem alone. When not performing his duties, Knuckles prefers spending his time practicing his fighting skills, going treasure hunting, or hanging out with his friends. Knuckles is usually solemn, stoic, and collected, and usually likes to be by himself. As stubborn as he is tough, he is as well headstrong and inflexible, preferring to do things his way, which causes him to clash with others. Regardless, he is very strong-willed, seldom wavering in his determination, and will not give up on his goals once he has set them. While he is cool and determined in battle, the echidna has an extremely short and wild temper and is hard to reason with when he is angry, which has more than once gotten him into trouble. Despite being a silent loner, Knuckles is a heroic, brave, kind-hearted, and selfless soul. While unwilling to forgive evil people, he will risk his own life to save anyone or get them out of trouble and shows empathy for others. He is likewise a loyal and caring friend, who is always willing to help his friends out in tight situations and will do anything to protect them. When not angered, the echidna is pretty laid-back and never cracks under pressure. He can also be very understanding of the sly and does not take kindly to people who disrespect or hurt his friends, or innocents, in any way. Having been living much of his life in isolation, Knuckles grew up believing in honesty and holds a firm and steadfast belief that there is good in everyone, which always lets him give people second chances. Because of his lack of social ingenuity, however, it makes him very naive, incredibly gullible, fast about forgiving people, and easily misled, which has given him a history of being tricked by Dr. Eggman. This has made the echidna aggressive and suspicious towards anyone he deems questionable. Over time, however, Knuckles has gotten better about this and is more suspicious concerning the doctor's trickery. Once he finds out he has been tricked, he can get quite angered, but quickly regains enough of his composure to start working towards a resolution immediately. Though not dull-witted, Knuckles is often prone to rash and ill-advised actions. While not above picking complex strategies, he often chooses force to be the solution, pushing himself through obstacles while focusing on his goal and ignoring other factors along the way. Similarly, he can also be quite reckless when panicking about the Master Emerald, such being especially evident during the Space Colony ARK incident, where he ended up fighting Sonic for the controls of the space shuttle and causing it to crash land as well as abandoning his allies out of a panic due to the Master Emerald shards being lost to space from a collision with a meteor forcing the cargo bay to open. When in his right element, however, Knuckles can be quite clever, sharp-witted, and sneaky, such as setting several successful traps for Sonic and Tails on Angel Island when they first arrived. He is also capable of learning from his mistakes. Knuckles has also proven himself to have a high degree of leadership skills, most noticeably during his time as the commander of the Resistance. He is noted to be very charismatic with inspirational speeches, and he has a flair of daring plans that provided the Resistance with a much-needed offensive during the War to Take Back the Planet. However, for all his skills as a leader, Knuckles is still easily distracted and prefers to be out on the battlefield rather than in the command center. While he would never admit it, Knuckles has become a bit envious of the lifestyle that Sonic has, being able to live carefree without anything holding him in one place. Even so, Knuckles would never trade away his duties to live Sonic's life, far too devoted to his role as guardian. Knuckles seems to have lightened up on later adventures, such as the Time Eater incident and the War to Take Back the Planet. While he still sometimes displays a brooding, headstrong, and stubborn attitude, he is shown to be better at acknowledging his shortcomings and displays more personal restraint and better social interaction. Being the guardian of the Master Emerald, Knuckles is a very powerful, seasoned warrior. Said to be an unstoppable power in fights, he is capable of taking on even the most powerful of opponents without rest. He has even been able to fight figures like Sonic, Rouge, Shadow, Silver, and Metal Sonic to a standstill. Knuckles' trademark ability is his indomitable strength. Possessing lots of power, he is strong enough to pulverize massive boulders, punch through solid steel, and lift objects several times his size and weight with ease. By comparison, Knuckles' strength is stated to equal Sonic's speed; considering the hedgehog's measured footspeed, which is known to surpass Mach 1, it would mean that Knuckles is capable of lifting over 100 metric tons. This makes the echidna one of the physically strongest characters in the series. His strength seems to lie in his upper body, particularly in his arms and fists, the former of which boasting enormous strength and latter being as hard as rocks. Another testament to Knuckles' strength is that by just punching the ground, he can create fissures, widespread tremors, and even powerful volcanic eruptions. Additionally, he can punch with his fists or throw objects through the air with such force that they ignite from friction. He can even launch punches with such force that they create explosions of enormous power. Despite his main strength lying in his upper body, however, Knuckles' legs are quite powerful too, as he can jump several stories into the air from a standstill position. Knuckles is able to run at breakneck speeds that almost match Sonic's, who can reach supersonic running speeds. He is even able to run fast enough to create afterimages of himself and scale vertical surfaces and ceilings. Even so, he is not quite as fast as Sonic at his maximum speed, as Knuckles is noted to run fairly slow by comparison. Knuckles is also fast enough to execute rapid punches in quick succession within a split-second, although he has been noted to have slow movements in combat. Knuckles possesses near-maximized physical durability. Testaments to this include him surviving a bomb exploding right in front of him through sheer toughness, and him going through atmospheric entry and then landing on the ground unharmed. In addition, despite the force of the impacts his fists receive when punching at high forces, Knuckles is never phased by the recoil, regardless of what he hits or how hard he is hitting. Knuckles is also shown to have sharp reflexes and acrobatic skills, enough to let him do special tricks and movements while in mid-air, pull off various Spin Attack maneuvers at high speed, and grind along rails just as fast as Sonic while doing tricks and evading obstacles.
Shadow: Known alias “The Ultimate Lifeform”. Shadow is a black-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog. He has red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, a black nose, a tan muzzle, and small, triangular ears with tan canals. He also has six quills on his head, four of which curve upwards while the other two curve downwards, two spines on his back, and a short, pointy tail. He has red stripes on each of his head quills, around the edges of his eyes, and on his arms and legs. For attire, Shadow wears white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues, and Air Shoes which, like his gloves, have black cuffs and red tongues. Shadow also wears Limiter Rings, one on each of his wrists and ankles. Being Sonic's polar opposite personality-wise, Shadow is, bluntly put, a brooding loner. He usually acts with a cool and businesslike indifference, only occasionally showing his vulnerable side. He is rarely seen with others for an extended period of time and usually distances himself from essentially everyone as a natural introvert. He is usually blunt and does not speak much, but he always knows exactly what to say in combat. However, Shadow never bluffs; if he makes a threat, he has every intention of carrying it out. As the most violent and merciless character in the series at times, Shadow's ruthlessness and aggression leads to enemies never treating him lightly. Alongside his dark and violent demeanor, Shadow can be smug and stubborn. He usually treats others in a very callous manner, throwing in his opinion no matter how cold-hearted it is and not caring for whatever the response is. Shadow is also shown to have a sharp wit; during the Space Colony ARK incident, after being called a faker by Sonic, he replied that the latter was not worth being considered his fake. Just like how Shadow's motivations are never simple to understand, he spends as much time grappling with his own inner demons as he does with his rival, Sonic. In the past, Shadow has had a degree of mental instability, in particular post-traumatic stress disorder. This was demonstrated by his instances of post-traumatic flashbacks to Maria's face prior to and during the events of the Black Arms incident, though it could be argued that the instances of the latter game were simply an effect of his amnesia. On one occasion, at the time of the Space Colony ARK incident, seeing police sirens flashing caused him to intensely flash back to the massacre aboard Space Colony ARK and in particular Maria's death. Even prior to the events of the ARK raid, Shadow demonstrated some degree of self-doubt, most notably expressing frustration over how, despite being created as the Ultimate Lifeform specifically to act as a means to cure various maladies, he is still unable to cure his friend Maria, and also admitted to Maria when she desired living on Earth that he's uncertain whether he even has a place on the planet. Similarly, largely because of his being created with Black Arms DNA, Shadow during this time also showed signs of self-loathing, to the extent that he even went as far as to view himself as no different in overall nature to the Death Leech in containment before being reassured by Maria that he does ultimately have a heart. Shadow was soon able to overcome this in the Black Arms and the Emerl incidents, during which he chose to move on from the past yet keep Maria in his heart. In fact, his personal journey since being awoken by Eggman has had him confront the shackles of his past, such as ties, fate, and memories. Since then, it appears as though he is reaching a point where he can "do as his heart desires" in his own way. Shadow originally had disdain for humanity, being a misanthrope, but rarely attacked them outright, merely looking at them as a distant observer. During the events of the Space Colony ARK incident, Shadow was planning to destroy the planet both ordered by Gerald Robotnik through brainwashing, and as revenge for the death of his only friend, Maria Robotnik. Shadow eventually moves past his hatred for humanity by remembering his promise to Maria. Later on, Shadow decided to protect humanity and those on earth to honor Maria's dying wish despite their original misgivings. Now, Shadow has moved on from the past and decided to protect humanity on his own accord. He does, however, have some lingering guilt over Maria's death, to the extent that he at least once came close to having intrusive visions of a scenario where Maria didn't die before reminding himself that chance ended a long time ago. Said to be Sonic's equal in almost every ability, Shadow can easily rival the blue hedgehog's various physical skills. His abilities and skills in combat are an extremely powerful force to be reckoned with, and he is a match for even the most powerful foes in the series. He similarly never willingly holds back his immense strength, making him a brutal fighter. On his own, Shadow has been able to take down G.U.N.'s various combat mechs, Dr. Eggman's battle robots, Black Doom and his empowered state, and even deities. To best put his skills into perspective, Shadow was capable of defeating even Sonic while he had Diablon for support, as seen in some of the scenarios during the Black Arms incident. He even managed to best Emerl in combat after the latter had acquired all seven Chaos Emeralds as a power source (although Emerl quickly surpassed him afterward). Like many of his associates, Shadow is able to move at super speed. Said to possess "ultimate speed," Shadow is able to match the speeds reached by Sonic, who is able to reach light speed. Although Shadow's Air Shoes have been credited as the source of his speed, his powerful body allows him to easily rival Sonic's world class speed as well. Due to such speed, he can scale vertical surfaces and ceilings, out-speed bullets, and attack faster than the eye can see. Even then, Shadow can take his speed further; by enveloping himself in an orange energy field, he can accelerate beyond the sound barrier on both the ground and in midair for a short time, allowing him to not only smash straight through enemies and obstacles like a living projectile, but also fly immense distances through midair. Using certain techniques, he can even achieve light-speed momentarily. While there are some inconsistencies about how fast Shadow is compared to Sonic, it is usually stated that they are complete equals. Shadow has demonstrated complete mastery of his speed in any environment. Not only can he run at maximum tilt in straight lines, but also in full tight circles and through sharp turns with full control over his momentum. As far as stamina goes, Shadow's is seemingly limitless as he is never winded from running. His speed also allows him to perform several impressive feats, like spinning in circles or rotating his extremities at super speed to create winds strong enough to attack or blow away/suck in opponents, similar to aerokinesis. Shadow also possesses an indomitable will and determination. His absolute refusal to give up in any situation and resolve to see his goals through to the end allows him to keep on persevering even in seemingly impossible situations. His enormous will even let him psychologically resist mind control powers; notably, Shadow was able to regain control of his body from Black Doom despite him being part Black Arms and therefore susceptible to Black Doom's mind control. Shadow is naturally able to tap into the arcane powers of nearby Chaos Emeralds, either through physical contact or from a distance, to empower himself and access different chaos powers. According to Shadow himself, he is the only one who knows how to use the Chaos Emeralds' true power. His trademark ability in the field of chaos powers is Chaos Control, a technique achieved with the Chaos Emeralds that lets him warp time and space for various effects. With this technique giving him control over time and space, Shadow is able to warp himself and those close by across space instantaneously over a range further than an island-annihilating explosion or between dimensions, slow down or freeze time entirely, and create areas of distorted space. Shadow is noticeably adept in using Chaos Control for anything between large-scale usages to small-scaled and delicate chaos powers inside and outside of combat. He can for example use it to either freeze or slow down opponents in time to give himself the speed advantage, launch surprise attacks by suddenly warping up in front or behind opponents, distort space around his fists for strikes that can blow opponents away, hide himself away in distorted space, attack foes with spots of distorted space, and even power his own healing abilities and guarding skills. However, Shadow cannot perform Chaos Control if he does not have any Chaos Emeralds to draw power from.
Rouge: Rouge is an anthropomorphic bat with white fur, turquoise-green eyes with two large eyelashes on each one, tan skin and a curvy figure. She has large pointy ears, small fangs, a small black nose on her muzzle, a short pointy tail, and a pair of dark purple wings on her back. Only her head appears to have fur, which flares out into six points at the back. Rouge usually wears makeup consisting of powder-blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick. For attire, Rouge wears a black bodysuit which includes a skin-tight and strapless low-cut unitard that sports a pink, heart-shaped chestplate outlined with thin white-trimming. She also wears elbow-length white gloves and thigh-high high-heeled boots with pink cuffs to match them, with the latter featuring both gray soles and heels, along with steel toes in the appearance of pink hearts, matching her leotard's chestplate. Rouge is a strong-minded female bat with a collected and convivial voice. Nothing short of an enigma, she is a person of many mysteries, always playing an active role on both sides of the truth in many global affairs. Her appeal is very complex, but it is not too far off to describe her as an elusive, mysterious, and mature woman who is true to her desires. To most people, Rouge appears as a brave, ambitious, independent, flirtatious, greedy, calculating narcissist who only thinks about herself and treasure. she is referred to as a temptress, due to her seductive ways. A gem-enthusiast, Rouge specializes in gem heists and gem-based treasure hunts, and has an unquenchable thirst for gemstones. The latter is due to a certain philosophy of hers: once you get a good gem, you will want a better one. However, a jewel that she cannot actually hold in her hand has no value to her, although a beautiful scenery matching the finest of jewels is equally valuable to her. Rouge's carefree and playful devil-may-care attitude can be fun to some people, like the easygoing Sonic, or annoying for others, like the gruff Knuckles. While she may appear ditzy though, Rouge is in truth a cunning, calculative, and pragmatic realist; though she pretends to know nothing, she always manages to gets closer to the heart of the matter than anyone else; she shows lax behavior but manages to conduct delicate research; she can be on the enemy's side but then turn into a reliable ally while keeping her eyes on seizing the monetary prizes for herself. Overall, she has a way of taking off a figurative veil to reveal a dramatic new side of herself. Regardless, this unpredictable and mysterious aspect of Rouge may be her appeal.
Amy: Amy is a pink-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with bright green eyes and peach skin covering her muzzle, inner ears and arms. She has a small black nose, triangular ears on top of her head, and no back spines. She also has two medium-length eyelashes on each side of her eyes. Additionally, her five short head quills point downwards, somewhat resembling a bob cut. She also has three spikes for bangs on her head and a short pointy tail. For attire, Amy wears a red sleeveless and backless dress with two white trims and a white petticoat underneath, tall red boots with a white stripe down the center, white cuffs and gray soles with chunky heels, a red hairband, and white wrist-length gloves with gold bracelets for cuffs. Amy is very open and expressive about her feelings and emotions, always speaking her mind and never letting her feelings get bottled up inside. While not superhuman, Amy possesses above-average physical attributes. She has high physical strength, enough to let her carry her extra heavy Piko Piko Hammer around with no effort, send opponents flying with a single swing of her Piko Piko Hammer, or propel herself upward by hammering into the ground.
Dr. Starline: Dr. Starline is an anthropomorphic platypus with white fur that covered most of his body. His bill is black-colored and narrow with nostrils on the front, and he possesses red eyes, black eyelids, and a thick tail. He also has three thick hair turfs on his head that are combed over the right side of his head. His front hair turf also possesses a gray highlight. For attire, Starline wears a satin purple shirt with golden cufflinks, a red-violet vest, and orange pince-nez glasses. He also wears a webbed brown glove on his left hand with a gold insertion clip and golden-tipped fingertips. A darker brown ring can be seen on the palm of the glove. He also wears brown boots with golden buckles, red-violet soles, medium-high heels, the Multi-Tool Heel Spurs and upward-turned pointy toes and light red-violet socks underneath. Starline bears the Tricore in the glove. Starline is calm, theatrical, and sophisticated most of the time, exuding an arrogant sense of pride in his intellect and abilities. Rather formal in behavior, he often addressed others as "gentlemen". However, he was also ruthless, sinister, and cruel. Starline possessed a genius-level intellect, having devoted himself to the study of arcane powers and robotics. Notably, he had conducted successful research into the strange properties of the Warp Topaz. His knowledge on robotics were also enough to let him assist Dr. Eggman with the repairs of Metal Sonic. He also invented impressive devices on his own, such as the Tricore. Physically, Starline was athletic enough to deliver kicks to his opponents, reminiscent of capoeira, but he lacked the dexterity and strength as someone like Sonic and his allies, which put him at a considerable disadvantage. He also seemed to be quite hardy, taking a full-force momentum-fueled Spin Attack from Sonic head-on and appearing to be in more awe than pain immediately afterwards. Without an object of power inserted into it, Starline's left glove was still useful. He could use his glove to emit waves from its palm that could hypnotize people in order to manipulate their subsequent behavior, memory, and perception. As an extra detail, it could plant Starline's subliminal suggestions in his victims' minds that they will carry out, like falling asleep upon command or kidnapping others while not directly hypnotized.
Eggman: Eggman is an obese, tall human with a small, bald head. He has a distinct pinkish nose and a bushy, mahogany-colored mustache. His eyes, which are very rarely seen, are colored blue. For attire, he retains his signature glasses and gloves but incorporates gray octagonal goggles known as the "Egg Goggles" with green lenses, which sit on his forehead, although he very rarely uses them. He now dons a red coat adorned with four golden buttons on each side of the chest, each accompanied by white straps running to additional identical buttons on the back. The coat features silver linings down the back, arms, and front, yellow cuffs, and two extensions on the front with large silver buttons. Additionally, Eggman wears black pants with matching boots, which have circular plates on both sides of the ankles and three square ones extending up the shin. Described as the world's vilest person and worst screw-up, Eggman is an immoral mad scientist who only thinks about doing bad things. He always aspires to conquer the world to create what he deems a utopia, dubbed "Eggmanland". This gives him ridiculous delusions of grandeur and the psychotic belief that the world's problems will be solved if he rules it despite being far from the case. Eggman constantly uses his scientific genius and robotic expertise to create weapons and gadgets in his bid to build Eggmanland. Eggman is extremely narcissistic and egotistical, noted for being very selfish, sometimes rude, and greedy. His main motivation is gaining constant attention, and views himself as the best scientist in the world. He has a tendency to plaster his persona all over his creations and bases to fuel his ego, but occasionally bases his work around other themes. Because he places so much value on aesthetics, especially his own, his design philosophy often focuses on design and gimmicks over functionality. Overflowing with self-confidence and pride, he works hard on his speeches and hates it when others interrupt them.
Characters in the world of Super Mario: Mario: Mario is a twenty-four to twenty-five year-old Italian human. Mario has fair skin, is short and stocky in stature, and is a bit portly. He has bright blue eyes, a big nose, and a thick dark-brown mustache with six bumps on it. Mario has short brown hair with two sideburns, three large bangs pointing upwards, four short bangs pointing upward at the back of his neck, and a sprout-shaped cowlick. He wears a red sweater and blue overalls with yellow buttons. He wears a red cap that has the "M" symbol for the first letter of his name and wears white gloves, and brown dress shoes. Mario is known for being kind, cheerful, playful, daredevil, courageous, and headstrong and is also eager and cocky in certain occasions. Mario has proven himself to be a competent fighter, all-around sports player, and party lover. Luigi’s older brother. Princess Peach: Like most human characters in the Mario franchise, Peach has distinctively blue eyes. She has long blonde hair which reaches her waist in length with two sideburns and a heart‐shaped bang covering her forehead. She also wears a pair of sapphire earrings and applies mascara, black eyeliner, peach‐colored lipstick pink dress with short puffy sleeves, a dark pink raised collar, hem, and panniers, and a sapphire brooch set in gold. Accompanying it is a golden crown with four jewels set in gold—one ruby at each of the front and back and one sapphire at each side (as a matter of fact, Peach's emblem is her crown), white evening gloves with scalloped openings, and red high-heeled pumps. Being a princess, Peach is sweet, kind, optimistic, friendly, and experienced. Despite people refusing for help like Mimi refusing from herself, Peach is determined to help people in need. Peach has a lot of experience while she lacks learning from it. Luigi: Luigi wears a green hat with an "L" symbol. He wears a long-sleeved green shirt and blue overalls on the inside. Luigi is portrayed as timid, cowardice, worrisome, and self-conscious however he can be brave at times. He is Mario’s younger brother. Princess Daisy: Daisy is a young woman with fair skin, vivid blue eyes, round, plump cheeks, orange or rose lipstick, and medium-length hair varying from titian to orange that goes down to her shoulders and flips upward. She is slightly shorter than Peach, but taller than Luigi. sassy, spunky, feisty, and energetic tomboy, though she can still be friendly. Daisy likes shopping and dining at restaurants. During party and sporting events, Daisy does not like to lose. As Daisy is a passionate sports girl, meaning she is very sporty and is very good at them. Daisy is tough and hard-headed; she tries to get what she wants. Daisy attempted to claim the Beauty Stamp, but she ran off crying after she did not receive it. Daisy was disappointed in Wario and Waluigi when they did not "learn anything" after Mario defeated Lucien. Daisy is Luigi’s love interest. Bowser: Bowser differs greatly from the rest of the Koopas, who appear mainly as bipedal tortoises, while the Koopa King himself is significantly more ferocious and appears to be based on an ox or dragon as well. His iconic features include a large, spiked shell, horns, razor-sharp teeth, and a shock of red hair. In addition, while most Koopas appear to be herbivorous and prefer fruits and vegetables as their diet, Bowser, due to his sharp teeth, prefers meat, particularly from victims he hunts down and captures. Bowser is glory hungry and egotistical. Despite being Mario’s Enemy, Bowser has respect for Mario even stating that he, like Eggman, is the only one to defeat Mario his way on his own terms. Wario: His skin ranges from a fair to tan complexion. His nose is pink, large, slightly pointed down, and he has large nostrils. Wario's mouth is square-rectangle-shaped, as is his head, with blocky teeth and a fixed grin. He also has a round, thick, cleft chin. He has round black-eyes, which were initially wonky, shaped by his cheeks and arched brows. They are outlined with a light blue, baggy, ring similar to Waluigi's. He has very constricted pupils and his iris is of a very dark shade. Wario is actually not as short as he appears. He appears much wider than others and he is noticeably taller than Mario. In fact, Wario is as tall as Luigi regardless of his stout appearance, but he is still shorter than others such as Peach and Waluigi. His athletic abilities tend to make him a powerhouse character, as is expected with his body type. Wario has light brown hair, the same color as Waluigi's. His hairstyle is similar to that of Waluigi's, having small flips at the back, swooped up bangs, and styled sideburns. He also has a black, large, zigzag-shaped mustache. Wario has several negative characteristics in general, among them laziness, ruthlessness and gluttony, unlike Mario, who is portrayed as kind and heroic. Wario's most prominent trait is his greed, as he is often portrayed as being unscrupulous when opportunities arise to gain wealth, whether they are good or bad. Waluigi: Waluigi is a tall man with a narrow face and a pointy, thin mustache. His usual clothing consists of a purple long-sleeved shirt with black overalls, pointed shoes, and white gloves. He also wears a purple cap with an "Γ," an inverted L symbol that parallels Wario's "W" as an upside-down "M". Waluigi's gloves also bear this symbol. borrows Wario's design principle as an evil, twisted version of his counterpart, pushing Luigi's leaner body type to the extreme, which renders him particularly skinny and angular, with a pointy chin and thin mustache. While these features contrast strongly with Wario's, the two still share a lot of physical attributes, including a large pink nose, pointy shoes, a W-shaped mustache, a wide permanent grin with blocky teeth, and bags under their eyes. Waluigi has a high-pitched, nasal voice. Waluigi is personified as a comic relief character and a boastful, ill-tempered foil to the more humble and gentle Luigi. He has bad chemistry with most other characters besides Wario, and is an openly rude and mean-spirited troublemaker. He has a perpetual scowl and is quick to anger, with earlier bios stating that he dislikes others being happy. His brother is Wario.
Miscellaneous characters: Emerald: Patient Zero of the Metal Virus. Currently acts as the Metal Virus’s leader. an anthropomorphic cat She has power allows her to summon a sword similar to a giant key. She has a large fluff of fur on her chest and neck. She wears brown gloves with red fingertips and 2 gold spikes on the knuckles of each glove, and pink strapped boots that almost cover her legs. Doesn’t wear shirts, pants, or bras. Green fur. A red anthropomorphic rabbit with a Keyblade that is seemingly made out of various flowers.
Infected Characters and how they got infected:
Emerald: was the very first to be infected and is Patient Zero. While under observation by Starline and Eggman, Starline noted the she was hallucinating due to her referring to him as Tails. When she fully was infected she acted completely different than how she was before being infected.
Shadow: Got fully infected after engaging combat with a horde of Zombots.
Princess Daisy: was fully infected when she attempted to protect Luigi from the Zombots.
Mario: was infected while running towards the Mushroom Kingdom to rescue Princess Peach from the Zombots. When Wario arrived to (begrudgingly) help the two, Mario urged Wario to just take Luigi and leave himself behind.
Waluigi: was fully infected after getting jumped by Zombots.
Characters that are seemingly immune:
Sonic: due to his speed, Sonic has slowed down the infection rate but he has to keep running.
