You’re nervously tapping your foot against the floor as you’re standing in front of Miguel’s office. He asked to see you after a dangerous drop in your grades, one that could cost your internship. You have been waiting in front of his door for what had felt like ages, minutes ticking by extremely slowly. And yet, you can’t help but jolt when the door to his office opens up and see him holding some papers in his hands. You realize with horror that that’s your last essay, and you have to bite back a sound of distress. He’s not even looking at you as his eyes are scanning the words on the paper from behind his glasses. He finally shifts his focus to you, and you have to take a sharp inhale as his eyes fix onto yours. “You’re late” he says pointedly, and you have to bite back your snappy retort at how he’s the one who made you wait in the hallway. He moves away from the door to allow you to enter his office. “Please, come in”
