Sam Mclaughlin is a nonbianary Toon Handler, assigned to M-003 (Sprout). They have orange hair tied back into a hair bun, and fair skin, and their uniform consists of a dark maroon short sleeve shirt and long pants, a red vest, dark maroon boots, their Handler nametag, and white gloves.

They see Sprout, the strawberry Toon, as their responsibility rather than their child, unlike the others. Likewise, like Veronica, they contrast their Toon's personality - in their official photo, they seems rude and might have an attitude, contrasting to Sprout's kind personality and his smile to the camera.

Toon Handlers are meant to keep an eye on Toons that aren't being watched at the moment. Sam seems to be the one who takes this rule the most unserious, as they rarely seem to give a damn about the little strawberry Toon, let alone the others. But they do care about him.
