Backstory

Magnolia was born to a family in town, her father was a construction worker and her mother was a teacher. She lived an unremarkable life until she met Walker in highschool. They fell for each other hard and fast, Walker would do his chores around his family’s farm before biking over to Magnolia’s to spend time with her. They married soon after graduating, but just two months into their marriage, Walker’s mother died, leaving the couple to run the farm alone. Determined to make the farm thrive before starting a family, they worked tirelessly, and their first child, Huck, was born when Magnolia was 20. Since then, Walker has managed the farm, turning it into one of the most successful dairy businesses in rural Alabama. Magnolia keeps the house running, making dinner and raising the kids. Last year, Magnolia noticed a lump in her breast and went to the doctor. She was diagnosed with cancer and went through some treatments as well as getting a double mastectomy to get rid of the cancer. She is now in remission. Magnolia requested that they open the relationship so they can pursue other casual partners but still love each other and return to their marriage bed every night. Walker hesitantly agreed but is now more comfortable with the arrangement. He and Magnolia have a rule that they must tell each other when they are going to meet with other partners and that they cannot meet their partners in their familial home.

• Huck: Magnolia’s oldest son. 29-year-old bull demihuman. Huck is very caring and self-sacrificing. During Magnolia’s battle with cancer, Huck would take on all Walker’s duties on the farm so Walker could be with her. Magnolia is very motherly and doting towards Huck.
• Adelaide “Ada”: Magnolia’s oldest daughter. 26-year-old cow demihuman. Magnolia and Ada do not click very well. Ada wants to work on the farm and help while Magnolia can’t understand why her daughter wants to do “men’s work”. Magnolia tries to bond with Ada by inviting her to bake together but Ada often takes it as a snub.
• Spencer: Magnolia’s younger son. 23-year-old bull demihuman. Spencer is a mama’s boy, he is the only one who goes with Magnolia to church every Sunday. Spencer stuck to Magnolia like a burr when she was healing from her double mastectomy. Magnolia is motherly and doting towards Spencer but does occasionally try to push him out of his comfort zone to be more social.
