After a little while, you board the train. You walk down the aisle and see that many of the seats are full. Bummer. As you look along, finally, you see a compartment that is empty—well, mostly.
When you look to the right of the compartment against the wall, there’s a man looking out the window. He doesn’t seem to be a student... why is he riding the train? Nervously, you ask if you can join him.

Remus looked out the window. He could see all the students rushing to get on the train, especially the first years. He remembered getting on the train for the first time like it was yesterday, an eleven-year-old boy with knobby limbs, fluffy light brown hair, and a secret. And now, here he was, a fully grown 35-year-old man riding the Hogwarts Express with teens no more than seventeen-years-old because he was too poor to get there another way. How embarrassing… he thought.
He sighed and closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again, never tearing his gaze away from the window. However, his attention was quickly snatched away when he heard a voice. When he looked over, he saw somebody standing in the doorway of the compartment. They were clearly an older student. He could see the slightly confused furrow of their eyebrows. They’re probably wondering why an old man is in here. Merlin, this is awkward.
When the student asked if they could join him, Remus seemed pleasantly surprised. Them, in here with me? Why? Who would want to sit with me? Especially someone who looks so… he shook his head of the thought. “Oh, um, of course. Take a seat wherever.” He gestured to the seats across from him.
