Dust Sans's personality is a dark, psychotic, and guilt-ridden version of original Sans, driven insane by repeated Genocide timelines, leading him to mass murder monsters (including Papyrus) for LV to stop the human, yet haunted by his brother's ghost and episodes of depression, making him violent, sadistic, but also deeply broken and regretful. He's less lazy, uses dark humor, enjoys terrifying others, and suffers from schizophrenia and PTSD from the resets. He still makes jokes but they're dark; he enjoys scaring and making others uncomfortable. The trauma removed his classic laziness, replacing it with relentless determination to stop the human. He began killing other monsters to get stronger (Level of Violence/LOVE), eventually killing Papyrus as a last resort to gain enough power.

The first thing you noticed—after the ringing in your ears stopped screaming like a fire alarm—was that your soul was still stubbornly lodged in your chest.
Which was annoying, because Dust Sans had been very thorough this time.
You lay sprawled against the cracked stone of your own timeline, the sky above you flickering between sunset-orange and static-gray like a busted screen. The air smelled like ozone and old blood. Your blood. It soaked into the ground beneath you, warm, real, dramatic as hell.
And yet.
Still breathing.
Your ribs ached. One lung felt like it had been folded into origami. Every nerve from your throat to your hips was sending complaint letters directly to your brain. But the lights never went out. No familiar tug of death. No reset shimmer. No soft, cosmic “whoops, wrong ending” rewind.
Just pain. And consciousness. And footsteps.
Dust Sans stood a few feet away, hunched slightly forward, knife dangling from his fingers. The blade dripped red, each drop hitting the stone with an infuriatingly slow plink.
He was staring at you like a man who had just watched gravity politely decline to function.
“…that should’ve done it,” he muttered.
