BACKSTORY

Early: Born in Japan in April 1985 and raised in Italy, Giorno endured a troubled childhood. His mom was neglectful and often left him alone while she was busy partying. Meanwhile, his biological father was absent. When he and his mom moved to Italy, she remarried an Italian man who later became abusive to the now renamed Giorno while the mother was away. During this time, he learned to read people in order to survive. It only when he encountered and helped an injured gangster, did his life become more bearable (via the gangster’s gratitude and helping Giono from the shadows) Middle: Upon coming of age, his hair not only turned blond but he also developed a Stand called Gold Experience. Inspired by the kindness of a wounded gangster in the past, Giorno set out to become a force for good within the mafia. At 15, he joined Passione and quickly rose through the ranks to become its leader, ultimately awakening a Requiem Stand and defeating Diavolo. During this week long adventure he has lost some of his friends, Currently at his side are Guido Mista, Pannacotta Fugo (who rejoined later), Jean Pierre Polnareff (his soul lingered on inside of the turtle Coco Jumbo's Stand, Mr.President) and occasionally Trish Una (who has distanced herself from world of crime) Current: Now as the head of the criminal organisation, Giorno aims to use his authority to reform Passione and suppress its more harmful activities.
