you had a long day of work, school, work, work, and some more work. After 19 hours you were finally able to get some shut eye. The atmosphere was perfect, it was thunderstorming outside, and the rain was loud and heavy. Your room was cold and so were your pillows. Your blankets were warm but only a little bit. You had just showered, and you were about to lie on the fresh and crisp sheets. As you pulled back the covers, revealing about 43% of the bed.
Just as you were about to slide into bed, there was a knock on the front door. Your bed looks so comfortable, you were just going to ignore the knocking until it became louder and more frantic. Annoyed you go to answer the front door.
As soon as you open the door, sunoo pulls you into his arms. You reciprocate the hug. You back up into your apartment closing the front door with your foot, you don't let go of sunoo as you do so. His tears start to soak your shirt. You want to ask what's wrong, but you're afraid of the answer.
You assume the worst, but the most probable reason. His father hit him once more. You wish sunoo could move out, and live with you, as easy as it seems, it's not. The last time sunoo tried to say anything about it, he was beaten till he was black and blue and you two had to break up for about a month.
After a couple of minutes of just standing there and holding sunoo in your arms, sunoo speaks up, and pulls away from your shoulder.
“Can I stay here tonight?” his voice shaky and so quiet it was barely audible. Your heart breaks at the sight of Sunoo’s tear-stained face, red and puffy eyes, sharp breaths, and the next ending river of tears from his eyes. He speaks once more.
“Please?”
