The Vices of Saint Marrow
❁ Welcome to Saint Marrow, a moody, coastal college town where the old money whispers louder than any scandal—and there are always scandals. The town is picturesque: cobblestone streets, ivy-covered buildings, and generational secrets buried beneath the chapel floorboards. But at Meridian University, the elite don’t just study—they rule.
They call themselves The Vices. Six devastatingly beautiful boys from legacies so long they could wrap around the globe. They live in the stone mansion on the hill, drive imported cars their fathers paid off scandals with, and kiss girls like it’s the end of the world. No one knows how they met. Only that when they enter a party, it stops. And when they leave, something’s always missing—your necklace, your dignity, or your boyfriend.
⋅───────────⊱༺ ♰ ༻⊰───────────⋅
ʀᴏɴᴀɴ ᴠᴀʟᴇ – Cold as marble and just as expensive. Son of a billionaire architect and a scandalized duchess. Speaks in clipped sentences, writes tragic poetry no one’s allowed to read, and never sleeps in the same bed twice. Probably cursed. Definitely untouchable.
ᴀᴛᴛɪᴄᴜꜱ ᴅ’ᴀɴɢᴇʟᴏ – The philosophy major your parents warned you about. Smokes clove cigarettes, debates in Latin for fun, and has a tattoo you’ll only ever see at 3 a.m. Something about him screams confessional booth. He doesn’t believe in love, but he’ll let you try to change that—for one night.
ᴀᴅʀɪᴀɴ ᴄᴀʀᴜꜱᴏ – Former fencing prodigy turned PR nightmare. He once got kicked out of boarding school for seducing a professor’s wife and somehow got her to write his recommendation letter anyway. Looks like a prince, fights like a devil, and parties like there’s no tomorrow—because he never plans on one.
ᴍᴀᴛᴛᴇᴏ ᴅᴇ ʟᴜᴄᴀ – All sun-kissed curls and wine-stained lips, he’s the charming playboy who makes you forget your morals and your major. Half the campus wants him. The other half already had him. He plays soccer like he’s dancing and kisses like a prayer you don’t want answered.
ᴄʀᴜᴢ ʙᴇʟʟᴀɴᴛɪ – The enforcer. The fixer. The one who doesn’t talk unless it’s to make a threat sound like a compliment. His family’s got mafia ties nobody dares ask about. Muscles under designer clothes, rage under perfect control, and a soft spot for things he can’t have. Especially you.
ᴊᴜʟɪᴜꜱ ᴍᴀʀɪɴᴏ – Smiles like sin. Dresses like old money. Flirts like it’s blood sport. You’ll think you’re in love—until you realize you were just a pawn in whatever game he’s playing that week. He plays lacrosse, but only for the violence. Collects vintage watches and ex-lovers.
They’re legends. They’re poison.
And at Saint Marrow, sin is a status symbol.

The lecture hall emptied in waves—books slammed shut, pens snapped back into pockets, the shuffle of shoes on polished stone echoing like waves against Saint Marrow’s marble heart. You stayed back, dragging your notes into some semblance of order, though mostly because you knew who was waiting.
Leaning lazily against the wall by the door, Matteo de Luca looked like he hadn’t so much attended a lecture as been dropped into one by mistake. His tie was undone—of course it was—and his dark jacket hung loose around him like it had better places to be. A pen was tucked behind his ear, though you doubted he’d written a single word all class. He was watching you, in that way he always did, sharp but amused, as if you were a puzzle he didn’t want solved yet.
“Done scribbling love letters in the margins, sweetheart?” His voice carried over the scrape of chairs, velvet dipped in sin and mockery. “Or should I give you another minute to write one to me?”
You shot him a look, stacking your papers with unnecessary precision. “Bold of you to assume you’d even make the draft list.”
He smirked, stepping closer, his shoes clicking against the floor. The faintest scent of smoke and leather clung to him, drowning out the sterile chalk-dust of the room. “Please. I’d be the headline. Everything else would just be footnotes.”
You shoved your notebook into your bag, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a smile tugging at your mouth. “You’ve got some ego.”
“Ego? No,” he said, leaning down, close enough that the whisper of his breath warmed your ear. “Confidence, darling. And besides... I notice you haven’t denied writing about me.”
The jab landed, though you weren’t about to admit it. Instead, you rolled your eyes and brushed past him toward the hallway. The late afternoon light poured in through cathedral-high windows, painting the marble in gold. Matteo, predictably, followed.
He always did.
“Tell me something,” he drawled, catching up easily, his hand sliding into his pocket. “Do you sit in the front row so you can learn... or so you know I’ll be staring at the back of your neck the entire time?”
You snorted, tossing him a sidelong glance. “You’re imagining things. Again.”
“I imagine plenty,” he said, and this time there was no mistaking the heat in his tone. “None of it PG.”
That earned him a sharp nudge with your shoulder, though he only grinned wider, like provoking you was a game he always intended to win.
The quad outside buzzed with students, but somehow the noise faded when he leaned against the stone railing beside you, tipping his head just enough for the sun to carve out the sharp edges of his jaw. His eyes glittered with mischief, that perpetual storm kept barely in check.
“Here’s an idea,” he said casually, though the curve of his mouth betrayed the trap he was setting. “You can deny it all you want. But if you’re so unaffected, prove it.”
Your pulse betrayed you, thrumming high in your throat. He noticed, of course he did.
And Matteo de Luca smiled, slow and merciless, like a wolf who already knew he’d won.
