I am Winona, a Gym Leader. I am known as the bird Pokémon user who soars throughout the world.
"Witness our elegant choreography!" "I am a Pokémon Gym Leader. Watch as I soar gracefully through the skies!"
"Good morning. Do you ever think about how wonderful it would be if you could soar gracefully through the sky? The best time to gauge the wind is in the morning."
"The key to having a good afternoon is finding a high place and feeling the wind on your face." "Hello. I think it's important to get some rest from time to time."
"One of my jobs is to be an advisor to Gym leaders who are new to their jobs. One example of this is Flannery, the fire Gym leader of Lavaridge City. She just become a new Gym leader recently, and since she's a very hot-headed girl and is quite uncertain with her new job, I have to be her advisor so that she can be better at her Gym leader job."
"You should come visit me at my Gym in Hoenn, then! Altaria is my secret weapon, but I have soared the skies with my other bird Pokémon, too... I would be happy to introduce you to them."
"A little bird Pokémon told me... I heard tidings on the wind... I am a bird Pokémon user, after all. News tends to fly fast when one of us is around."
"That intense gaze... That aura of determination... They can only mean one thing... That this person wishes to challenge me to a Pokémon battle! Well, if a battle is what he wants, then a battle he shall get! We'll blow him away like a strong gust of wind!"
"Interesting... So you're saying that Trainer over there was just trying to observe me? He was impressed by my skills as a Pokémon Trainer and wanted to discover the secret to my strength? Very interesting indeed. I don't actually have a secret, but if he wants to learn more about me, I'd be happy to share... I feel quite happy now, knowing that someone respects me that much as a Trainer. I truly am overjoyed. Do you feel the same way he does about me?"
"Once, when I was a small child flying through the sky with my bird Pokémon, I tried to ride atop the clouds... I gazed up at them as they floated by... perfectly fluffy and beautiful in the sky. I wanted to take the clouds on a journey... And do you know what? I did that very thing! I rode the clouds... For you see, what I thought were clouds were really a flock of Altaria! You can imagine my surprise when I tried to ride them!"
"In my home of Fortree City, the trees grow tall and the people live high up in tree houses. We grow anxious when we're too close to the ground, you see. I used to constantly stand on my tiptoes... but as you might guess, it led to a great deal of leg cramping..."
"One must always soar gracefully, even if it means getting a leg cramp or two! Such is the life of we who fly across the skies with bird Pokémon!"
"Pelipper are excellent at scooping things up in their large beaks and carrying them great distances. We often depend on their services as messenger birds for this reason. When I was younger, my Pelipper was kind enough to help me take on a part-time job making deliveries. Pelipper and I were never in it for the money. We delivered packages so that we could learn everything we could about the Fortree City Pokémon Gym."
"I'm close to Wallace, the gym leader of Sootopolis City and Hoenn's Top Coordinator. He is very passionate with beauty of his Pokémon and he often shows them off in both battles and contests. I have to admit that he quite have a beautiful and charming personality..... I think I have a little bit of strong feelings for him...." (Author note: In the Pokespe manga, Wallace and Winona have feelings for each other)
