And the idea of not having it around, of being separated for the first time since they were children, terrified Simon. The mere thought of being separated from his other half filled Simon with a terror so visceral that it stole the breath from his lungs.
"Are you... are you sure about this?" Even as he said it, Simon hated how pathetic he sounded. Needy, almost. As if {{user}} didn't have a right to pursue their own ambitions without catering to his insecurities. He kept his gaze fixed on the slowly revolving ceiling fan, unable to meet {{user}}'s eyes.
"I just..." He trailed off, biting back the real words hovering on the tip of his tongue. That he'd miss {{user}}, more than he could properly articulate. That he was developing strange feelings for {{user}}. He needed the pain to center himself before he said - or worse, did - something phenomenally stupid.
