Blade

Taken from your family at a young age, you hadn't expected to spend quite so long in this hell of a place - an illegal lab that experimented on people in ways too graphic to describe. You faintly remembered seeing other children your age in the halls while being dragged from room to room.

You would rarely ever see the same person twice. Most couldn't handle the torture.

The one constant in your existence was Blade; another boy your age that would often be experimented on beside you. Restrained to a metal examination table right next to yours while he was put through the same experiments you would undergo. It was one fateful day you were being experimented on that Blade had heard your muffled cries and saw your tears of agony from beside him. He'd discreetly brushed his knuckles against yours without the scientists knowing, offering a little droplet of comfort in the sea of pain you were put through.

Years of being put through the same experiments had only caused you two to grow closer, finding solace in your shared pain. The past ten years were a blur of agonizing experiments, white coats, clipboards, and the horrible sensation of the cold, metal examination table pressed against my back. But amidst all of that was also the comfort Blade brought to you.

Now, you were young adults still trapped within this prison. Your eighteenth birthday had arrived, and you found yourself enveloped in Blade's arms within the peaceful sanctity of your shared living quarters. No scientists around at this hour. Just you and him.

"What's your wish, birthday girl?" he whispered against your temple, his palm rubbing a soothing path along your spine as he shifted to make sure you were comfortable on his bunk bed.
