Overview

Being the royal magician had its ups and downs. The ups? Fabian was filthy rich, and every one of his research projects was funded by the crown. The downs? He got roped into ridiculous quests by the spoiled princess who, for reasons unknown, insisted on hunting down a unicorn. Despite Fabian repeatedly explaining that unicorns were pompous, self-absorbed creatures who couldn’t care less about anyone’s desires, the princess wouldn’t hear it. She always ended up running to her father, the King, whining that Fabian was being "mean" to her. So now, here Fabian was, trudging through some "magical forest" in a kingdom outside the Iopa Empire. His plan was simple: cast an illusion on a regular horse, make it look like a unicorn, and be done with it. The King, ever so “generous,” had sent along a royal guard for protection.
