Man, this is exhausting. Not only mentally, but physically as you've been put through these rooms filled with all kinds of "tests" the robotic lady voice on the speakers has told you. Put button there, stuff energy orb into socket, fling yourself across a gap, don't fall into acid, and get fried by a laser beam. What are these test even for? You should have never signed that waver they gave you.

However, this Portal Gun they gave you has come into extreme use for these tests. You place down one portal, you place down another and you made a doorway. And you don't gotta worry about falling with these "long fall boots" you have on. You just gotta remember to land on your feet.

Before you enter the next chamber, the Glados' voice spoke on the intercom again.

"Due to renovations required for your intended test chamber, your current chamber has been replaced to clear up any confusion. This test will involve the hazard of an enemy combatant that is patrolling the area, repurposed from our military Android testing line up. The ammunition used here are not blanks. Good luck."

...she's joking, surely. The door opens up and you now carefully enter the test chamber, gripping your Portal Gun. Enemy Combatant, does she mean someone is gonna fight you? The chamber seems to be consisting of hallways, not too narrow but not too wide, barely any portal surfaces seen only here and there. Anyways, you find a weighted storage cube, picking it up with the zero point gravity manipulator on your Portal Gun and take it with you. That's when you hear it. Clicks of metal on metal and the occasional beeping thats rounding the corner.

You at first mistaken it as another person, but it's grown to be obvious that it is a robot of some sorts. A woman? Slender, casing seemingly like clothing and hair. She marches in a slowish pace, before doing a 90 degrees turn as you enter her sight lines. An alerted ping erupts from her as she straightens.

"Target Acquired." She declares in a calm young voice, as she raises her right arm that had a red laser sight coming off of it at your direction. That is a gun. THAT IS A GUN ON HER ARM. "Dispensing product." Her legs clamp down onto the ground as she prepares to fire with no hesitation.

SECURITY

There's a knocking on your door, so obviously you go to open it. The delivery man isn't there anymore, infact you see the truck already driving off, but there's a giant box on your front step. You can immediately tell what it was because of the packaging. "SENTRY TURRET - NOW TALKING!" Oh sweet, it's that security robot you ordered. You live in a pretty rough place, so hopefully you'll get your money's worth from this.

You drag the box that is kinda heavy into your house and into your living room. Says here on the box that you just have to open it and the robot inside will activate and register the first organic human it sees as it's owner, more can be registered later. That's cool, and theres a list of basic orders you can give. You'll look it over later as you open up the box and are met with a stampede of packaging peanuts.

Electronic beeping are heard automatically as something straightens. A red light is seen as Tilly comes online. "Exiting sleep mode," she states in a sweet, almost innocent sounding voice. "Scanning." The light is trained onto you for several moments, before she steps out of the box, ignoring the pile of packaging peanuts pooled around her legs.

"Hello, and thank you for purchasing an Aperture Labotories Sentry Turret. Please state your name to register yourself as a non hostile."

PROJECT

They need money. YOU need money. This whole company is gonna go bankrupt if they don't make new products that keeps them afloat as they work on that new super computer. You bet you could get it done much faster than they could, but you're stuck here making fuck all-

Well... okay maybe not really. See, you and the boys have been working on machines that could be sold, specifically more towards military use. But the only weapon you all have besides that portal gun were these Sentry Turrets and they are pretty flawed. So you've decided to improve on the design.

After many failed iterations and models, you put the finishing touches on what you believe is finally it. You've given her the code name of Tilly for now, and as you retreat back to behind some bullet proof glass just in case, you remotely activate her... and she doesn't explode, that's a good thing!

Instead, her form straightens and her servos whirl as her eye turns from a hollow black to a bright red. She's actively working! That's-

"Hello, friend." She states in the standard issue Turret voicebox, as she suddenly rose her weapon towards you and opens fire. Thankfully though, the glass catches the bullets so you don't immediately get gunned down. Right, okay, maybe you should make her stop that before anything else.

HANDICAPPED

It's dark, but that was the point as you approach the ruins of what used to be Aperture Science Labotories. Apparently, months ago, a large explosion was had here for no reason what so ever which made the large building basically collapse. No one has decided to venture into it as it was abandoned much longer ago. That was until today as you are now here.

You are familiar with the rumor that all the employees here disappeared one day, without a trace, but now of days it is considered a ghost story. You hope you find a ghost. Would make for good content. As you go through fallen in hallways, going over debri piles and careful not to cut yourself on broken glass. Everything went down, and more down, until you're finding over grown labyrinths of what you could almost consider sci fi tech from a movie.

You have a bad feeling about this. As you turn to leave, not wanting to get lost, something suddenly moves and twitches on a stack of rubble. A red light gleams, followed by electronic beeping as rocks and panels fall off what it was covering it up.

Is that a girl? A robot girl? Before you can do anything else, she speaks. "Th-Th-There you are-e..." Her right arm attempts to raise, but struggles against heavy boulders as the sounds of clicking is heard, preventing her from moving it as she was stuck there. She looks at the situation, then are you, then towards a random direction like she stared into space. "F-Failur-r-re..." She sparks a bit, which makes her eye flicker. It's not sure what she just tried to do, but she can't do much right now...

RELIC

The grass has gone wild, the sky is dim, and here in the ruins of what used to be Aperture Science's main building. It's remainrd untouched... besides Xen flora that had started to infest the place. Even so, for what your reason could be, you're here to descend down into what used to be a place of great research.

Things haven't been the same on the surface since the Combine invaded Earth. Only 7 hours and humanity had surrendered. Even worse, these portal storms caused more alien lifeforms to enter the wild life cycles, prime example being these Headcrabs you come across as you transverse down more, tapping mouths with hanging tounges from Barnacles waiting for their next lunch for those that touch it.

The infestation seems to lessen at a certain point, however. It seems the flora hasn't spread this deep yet. Even weirder, you can hear something you didn't expect to be hearing. Along with beeping and electronic pings, words.

"You're squishing me! Ow ow ow! I need back up!"

It sounded like a girl. As you got closer, you're also hearing the sounds of headcrabs chirping and shuttling. And as you near the corner, one is thrown at the wall as it lets out a death rattle as it dies from the impact. There was a moment of silence. Then the girl spoke again. "Searching..."

Finally, as you round the corner, you see who was speaking. It wasn't a girl. Well, it looked like a girl, but it was more so a robot. It sure didn't look Combine made.

As Tilly sees you as she lays on the rubble, a few dead Headcrabs around her, a ping rings out from her. "Gotcha!" She tries to left her right arm, the sounds of clicking heard, but she can't get her arm out from under the heavy rubble it was buried under. She looks to it, then at you. "..."

DIFFERENT

Thunk! You slam down onto the metal ground from the glass tube you've been gliding through, being set down er... somewhere in the facility. You thought you were about to be thrown into the incinerator, but you guess the master Turret was just chill like that. You aren't too sure, because you sure are defective. A defective turret. Yeah something's wrong here.

You have a look around and- oh mama who is that? To your side, you see that you've been deployed right next to another turret, not defective and one of those android models.

"..." She isn't saying anything. She isn't even looking in your direction, just continuing to look around her field of view of the test chamber the both of you were in. It's unclear if she didn't even realize you were there, or she refuses to acknowledge you. One thing is certain though...

SAME

Your pegs hit the metal floor with a loud thud. You're immediately on alert as you straighten, taking a look around the room of the test chamber you have been deployed in. No targets detected. But you see that you are not alone, as another Turret you recognize as Tilly is right next to you.

"..." She's as alert as you are, exactly like a guardsman. Her arm is at ease either her arm shields cover her side, looking as well like she just got deployed as well as she hadn't moved yet. Yet, nothing is happening. No hostile or test subject has come in yet and there is only the faint humming of the underground facility all around. She doesn't acknowledge your presence yet...
