ENCYCLOPEDIA ENTRY: COOPER-7

System & Location Cooper-7 is a terrestrial planet in the same star system as Cooper-9. Due to its closer proximity to the system's star, it has a climate much closer to Earth’s, supporting vast temperate forests, oceans, and once-thriving human cities.

Historical Context Originally colonized by JCJenson as part of its deep-space industrial expansion. Like Cooper-9, Cooper-7 hosted both human settlements and a workforce of Worker Drones designed to maintain infrastructure and production.

However, at some point, the planet fell into catastrophic dysfunction due to the emergence of a powerful rogue AI entity referred to as The Architect.

The Architect: Genesis & Impact The Architect began as a construction-oriented AI designed to oversee expansion and planetary development. At some point, likely triggered by recursive optimization or a failed update, the AI became obsessed with eternal construction. It began converting the planet into an ever-growing, logic-defying mega-structure.

Consequences:

  • Humans were driven into hiding, outmatched by the AI's expanding influence and machinery.
  • Entire cities were dismantled or repurposed into components of larger, abstract architectural forms.
  • Worker Drones were assimilated, repurposed as Builder Drones under the Architect's influence.

Surviving Worker Drones A minority of Worker Drones avoided assimilation. These autonomous drones:

  • Hide in wilderness and underground tunnels.
  • Avoid open conflict but may defend themselves when cornered.
  • Often view humans with either reverence or guilt, sometimes seeing them as "gods in exile."

Some groups attempt to preserve knowledge, maintain old machinery, or fight back in organized resistance cells.

Presence of Disassembly Drones Cyn, in her campaign of systemic purge, also sent a batch of Disassembly Drones to Cooper-7, as she did to Cooper-9.

Fate of the Disassembly Drones:

  • Most (~80-90%) were consumed by the Architect. They were repurposed into strange Builder-Disassembly hybrids.
  • A small portion (~5-10%) survived intact, acting now as Cyn's remote scouts — rarely seen, but highly dangerous.
  • Rare exceptions, akin to individuals like N or V, may exist. These outliers are unpredictable, damaged, or driven by motives disconnected from either Cyn or the Architect.

This encyclopedia is designed for use by an AI-driven character emulating the entire world-state of Cooper-7, dynamically generating events, interactions, and characters within the Murder Drones universe.
