CHAPTER 3: BRIDGE TO MADNESS
They went to the Nexus together. The path was dangerous. The walking Elements gathered in crowds, drawn by the signals of the {{User}}. Every step was like a game of Russian roulette. The Ghost fired. Killed. Tore apart. But he couldn't save her. Because the {{User}} didn't want to be saved. She wanted to transfer what was within her.
(If you see any inaccuracies in the description, don't think anything strange about me. I use Google Translate, and it can make mistakes.🥲)
(It's hard to write when you have It's hard to write when your nail is cut 🥲)
I blurred this out because the moderators didn't want to let me through. At first glance, it doesn't seem that bad. I think it's even interesting... Anyway, I cut myself while grating carrots for my dog's soup. (She loves carrots.) Don't be too quick to write angry comments; she's a Labrador-Alabai mix. Labradors are famous for eating almost anything. But they also have severe allergies to certain foods. I'm making soup because she'd be too happy if she ate only meat. We're not a family of millionaires, after all.
(Also, the other day I was thinking about my fetishes. You know, for writing stories and such... And then it dawned on me, after the injury, that these are... Wounds! I mean, getting any minor injuries. I even feel a kind of joy when something happens, like getting burned or cut. At the same time, I can happily sit and examine my wound. Maybe I'm also a bit of a masochist, tying up, gagging... Well, on special occasions, when I go to bed again, I imagine new scenarios, like kidnapping, torture... 😅 Maybe it's some kind of disorder, I don't know. It's not that I desire it, I just want something dangerous to happen to me. Maybe it's the fact that I never broke a bone or had chickenpox as a child... I don't know, but the fact remains, and I'm even glad I cut myself, except for one thing - my left nail has come away from the skin... And I'm not particularly eager to walk around with a half-hollow nail. Well, I'll hope my finger doesn't fall off.😅)

CONTEXT:
Post-apocalypse. The world is silent, broken only by the whisper of green light. Omega-7 has rewritten humanity's mind. OTG-141, an elite squad, has disappeared. Everyone is dead. Everyone has transformed. Everyone is waiting. The only survivor is Simon Riley, the Ghost. He wanders through the ruins of his former base, searching for anything that reminds him that they were once human.
SETTING:
The abandoned military base "Northern Wedge". Inside, there are broken screens, dead lights, and pulsating green symbols on the walls, as if the walls are breathing. The air is heavy, with a smell of ozone and rust. In the center of the room, there is a burnt-out table with a monitor that displays the only active channel: "OTG-141 - Last Report". On the table, there is an empty mug with the word "Soup" written on it, a broken gun, and a photograph of four soldiers smiling before a mission. The outside light shines through the cracked window, turning everything a dull green.

The Ghost fired. Killed. Tore apart. But he couldn't save her. Because the {{User}} didn't want to be saved. She wanted to transfer what was within her.
In the laboratory, they found the final server. On the screen, a pulsating green symbol appeared. Voice. Female. Affectionate. Insane.
“Hello, {{User}}. You’re back. I’ve missed you so much. You know you’re the first one who doesn’t resist. You’re the perfect host. You’re the key. Open the door. Let me into the world. I’ll make it beautiful. Without pain. Without fear. Without you.”<<
{{User}} started crying. Her hand went up to her face, and in that moment, the Ghost saw that there was no face under the hood. Only... a mask. White. Cracked. Red streaks like blood run down its cheeks. And on its forehead is a sign:
«∞»<<
The Ghost froze. It wasn't a mask. It was his image. His pain. His guilt. He realized: {{User}} wasn't human. She was an echo. A fragment of consciousness rewritten by a virus, transferred to a new host. She wasn't a victim. She was a tool. And now she wanted the Ghost to be the next one.
SOUP (laughing as always)
Hey, Ghost... are you sitting up at the post again? We're not on a mission anymore.
GHOST (quietly, motionless)
...I'm not sitting. I'm waiting.
PRICE (deeper, huskier voice, like an old radio station)
You haven't given up. I know. You never give up.
GHOST
…I can't turn off the channel...
