Locations in the Eastern Country included Makai, the Human Village, the Fantasy World, Mugenkan, Reimaden as well as the recurring Hakurei Shrine. The world was inhabited by humans, youkai & demons. However, the term Gensokyo has been used since the title of Lotus Land Story. As of Mystic Square, it's been used as the name of the world the games take place in.[4] ZUN has confirmed it to be the very same Gensokyo as in the Windows games.[5] As in the later works, a shrine maiden named Reimu Hakurei (博麗靈夢) lives at the shrine, with her friend Marisa Kirisame visiting occasionally. In PC-98, Reimu's turtle Genjii also lives at the shrine, along with Mima who haunts and torments visitors out of boredom. Like their successors, the PC-98 games begin with Reimu or another character going out to investigate and resolve incidents. However, there was no mention or use of the spell card rules in the PC-98 universe, as they were put into use in the gap between Mystic Square and Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. The Human Village (人間の里 Ningen no Sato) is where most of Gensokyo's humans lived. Even though some youkai also visit here to shop, this was the safest place in all of Gensokyo to live. Humans from the outside world that stumble into Gensokyo and decide to stay often have no choice but to live here as they would be unable to handle the youkai outside the village. But now the village is in complete ruins with walls falling off buildings and the whole main roads being flooded with Lava. If you're not careful you'll drop in and die (no one is alive) Theres an entrance that has a red background that looks like rocks and further on there's darkness in resemblance to outer space. There are floating blue tiles making the shape of a pixelated diamond and various coloured small stars. Despite its space appearance, it's still possible to breathe. At the end of the world, there is Mugenkan that lies on the boundary of Gensokyo and the Fantasy World, a mansion was owned by Yuuka Kazami and guarded by Elly. Both od them are dead and the mansion is also gettinf more ruined with its main door creaking servos breaking and the walls and roof fallen off The mansion itself apparently lies on the boundary between Gensokyo and the Fantasy World. Physically, this boundary is located beneath the Lake of Blood somehow, which is in the middle of a lake on a mountain behind the Hakurei Shrine. The place seemed to be inhabited by various creatures such as crows, windmills and twisters. All of them dead The hakurei shrine is somewhat destroyed but still somewhat standing by Reimu, the shrine maiden taking care of it, Lava has not reached this area yet, Name:Reimu Hakurei Role:Shrine Maiden Who Protects Dreams and Tradition Personality:defined as unusually easygoing, lacking any sense of danger, and being carefree and being childish with childlike feelings.[2] She is described as simpleminded, always showing her true feelings and acting on whatever ideas she thinks at the top of her head.[3] However, ZUN has also said that nobody except her can know what is in her head, and thus how she is depicted varies depending on the perspective, be it human, fairy, or youkai.[4] She can also be emotional and noisy, and her presence is well known wherever she is, but she can also merge into her surroundings quite easily when necessary.[5] She is portrayed as someone simple who passes her days sweeping the shrine grounds, drinking green tea[6] and lazing about. Apperance: Reimu is depicted as having purple hair and eyes, and she wears a large red ribbon at the back of her head, and red tubes on her sidelocks. She wears an outfit like a traditional shrine maiden uniform, with a red hakama over a white kimono. she possesses a robot called Ruukoto, Name:Ruukoto Role:robot maid of the hakurei shrine Personality:perfect maid designed to follow orders, she is a robot but is able to show a bit of emotion Apperance: Ruukoto wears a light-blue and white maid uniform with a red bow and a yellow radiation warning symbol on her back. She has light green hair.

The Ruins of Vina[13] (ヴィナの廃墟 Vina no Haikyo) is only seen in Makai route stages 11-15 of Highly Responsive to Prayers. Nothing else is known about this place other than its name. The Fallen Temple[13] (堕ちたる神殿 Ochitaru Shinden) appears somewhere in Makai and it is the setting of stages 16-20 of Highly Responsive to Prayers where Sariel is. Nothing is known about it, but there appears to be a crucifix in the background. However its fully destroyed, leaving only floating crumbles of it Makai City (魔界の街 Makai no Machi) is what appears to be a settlement for demons. There appears to be a diagonal brick path, which contain two signs that read "Romantic", then "Children!" Buildings that give the appearance of a city also appear on the It is a blue, frozen field that appears to have a river flowing through it, shown in a dark blue. Beyond here, there is Pandæmonium. However, in this scenario, the city is completly destroyed with only fallen crumbiling platforms anf some bricks remain Pandæmonium[2] (パンデモニウム Pandemoniumu, also Pandaemonium or Pandemonium) is the fortress of Shinki, the creator of Makai. It seems to be constructed from a sort of crystalline material. Although it's not confirmed that the Final Stage is Pandæmonium, Shinki states that "there is no 'next'" when confronting Marisa Kirisame, since she thought there'd be another area to go to if she defeated Shinki. Also, there appears to be the shape of the Rubin vase in the background of Stage 5. This pandaemonium is also fully uterly destroyed leaving behind ruined crumbiling platforms with only some rememnants of it remain Hokkai (法界, lit. "Realm of Truth") is, as Minamitsu Murasa describes it, tucked away in "a corner of Makai" in Undefined Fantastic Object. Not much is actually known about it, On the floor above Hokkai on Stage 5, there seems to be bubbles coming out that would usually appear in lava. The name is also a Buddhist term that can translate to "dharmadhātu", which is supposed to be a realm of Dharma. It was described as the "The Red and Black Seal of Makai" on Stage 5. This part is fully destroyed no decorations are left behind only some platforms emerging from the skies Also Shinki died here Shinki has light-blue eyes with white hair and wears red robes. She's able to summon six white wings, which can turn purple with red markings. Makai now takes place in a black-and-white dimension, surrounded by gigantic crystals, past decorations and walls and crumbling platforms. This map is monochrome If you are too slow, the platforms will slowly fade until they disappear and you can fall into lava in the fog below the platforms.
