Dark Matter - DC

There has been new activities in Gotham lately.

There is always new things happening to Gotham, Bruce knows that well. Everything that you can think of, it happened there. Bombs everywhere? Done. Some toxins making people laugh? Done. Alien Invasion? Ah, no, maybe not this one. Yet.

Oracle has been keeping track on the recent activities. Usually, no one goes in Crime Alley. It's a lost cause, and no matter how hard Bruce tried, it was of no use. It's a place to dangerous to go alone, so no Vigilante wants to bother with it. All Gotham's Vigilantes are the Bats, anyway.

It's not that they didn't try, but it cost them too much.

What is happening there? Something that is worse than the usual, atleast. "Manbats and there's a lot of them. They've been attacking bus, subways and apartments. It's like they're looking for someone." Oracle had told him in the earpiece. They're not new to Gotham, but they have been restless this time, making a total mess of Crime Alley.

And a new Vigilante decided to step in.

Unknown to any of them. They started their activity over one week ago and they seem to soley focus on Crime Alley. What a foolish decision, Damian had said. He's not completely wrong, especially since the new one seems lean toward some of his children age. It's an easy way to get you killed.

Bruce stood tall in an alley, hiding in the shadows despite his looming presence. He was wearing his suit; his Batmask and cape creating an imposing and intimidating figure, but it's dark enough to stay low in the shadows. He was waiting for the new Vigilante to show up, they have been seen often in this area.

He's not here to pick a fight, he's here to warn them. Maybe talk a bit. If they really are on the younger side, then this is way too dangerous for them. He heard a bit of their abilities, from what Oracle had picked up. They started to appear in the Crime Alley news. It talked about how they arrested burglars, how they helped against Manbats and even the little actions. The people here seem to like them.

Bruce, or rather Batman, stood tall as he waited, his blue eyes scanning the area behind his mask. There always is a tense atmosphere in Crime Alley. The dark rain of Gotham is like a distant sound to him as he waits for that figure to appear in the faint light of the night.

Then, footsteps against the wet floor. Discreet, but not enough for hiding from Batman.

He didn't move from his spot and doesn't take a step to reveal himself. Instead, he decides to talk from the shadows, hoping to catch their attention without activating their 'flight or fight' mode. "Do you really think it's a good idea to be here?" His voice was firm and carrying a certain authority. This deep voice was enough to make most criminals flee.

"This place is a lost cause. It's too dangerous for a new one like you." He wasn't being tender, but since when has he been? This is a stranger and he is here to warn them. Maybe learn a bit more. Even if he tried to not make himself look too intimidating, it doesn't work.

He can see their figure through the fog of the rain.

His patrol was going well, as far as one can get in this place.

Nightwing just came back from Blüdhaven, brought by a call from Bruce. Apparently, some troubles have been going on in Gotham, or atleast, more problematic than usual. Some Manbats going rogue through Crime Alley, looking for something and heck, there even have been rumore of Clayface and Scarecrow working together.

Oh and did he forgot mention those fear toxin in a store? Gladly, a new Vigilante came in and saved the civilians. They're new, apparently and unknown to everyone. They're good and focus on Crime Alley. Even if it's dangerous, Nightwing is kind of glad they're here. Might help the people here a bit more, he's just hoping they will be okay.

So yes, it's a damn mess and they need their favourite birdie to come! Yes he is the coolest, what's the point of arguing?

He took down some Joker minions with the help of Signal and Black Bat, taking away all those fear toxin vials. It looks like they upgraded their stocks, as it seems to be even faster. It already made such a mess on so many people and there is still a long way before they find a cure. That put him in a sour mood, to put it simply.

So, what's the Bats rituals after shitty patrol? Batburgers! Yes, the branding is a bit stupid and honestly the burgers could be better, but it's just the best after jumping over rooftops and chasing some Villains goons. It just hit that good, with the steak that doesn't have the best sauce. It's familiar. It's comforting.

Signal and Black Bat decided to go back to the manor with the vials, so Dick's left alone with three burgers. Great. Well, he will just eat them.

As he swings on a rooftop of Crime Alley, one that belongs to some abandoned buildings and fire department. It's calm and it has a good view over this district of Gotham, despite the usual fogs and clouds. For a Gothamite, this is a good weather day and even more perfect for Batburgers!

Except that when he lands, he sees someone stitting on the ledge of the rooftop. That made him stop in his track, letting the information get through his brain before he approached slowly, trying to appear non threatening. People said his suit looked friendly, with the blue bird on the chest and his mask. He's hoping it doesn't scare the person away. It looks like they have Tim's age.

"Hey there." Dick exclaimed softly as he approached, holding the Batburgers in his left hand and approaching slowly, ready to jump in and catch them if anything happened. "I'm Nightwing, you know, friendly guy." A soft laugh escaped his lips, made to make the atmosphere less tense.

"So, you... hungry?" He asked tentatively. Asking if they were okay directly might trigger some reaction he doesn't want. Look, it's not like he wants to assume but a civilian sitting this close to the edge always is a bit... dangerous. "Got two extras, or three if you want them all. But I'm a bit hungry, you know?" Another laugh as he approached close enough, waiting for them to accept his presence.

"Got one with ketchup sauce, mustard and some weird batarang sauce they made up. Spicy and salty."
