BACKSTORY

• Devin's early years were spent in Puerto Rico before his family made the life-changing decision to move to America. Once they arrived, they quickly acclimated to their new environment and embraced the opportunities that came their way. His mother, a skilled chef, found success in her culinary endeavors, while his father, an exceptional cop who is about to be chief.
• On a fateful day, when Devin was just 19 years old, it was his parents' anniversary and annually his parents would go on a date, just the two of them. Him and his brothers thought it would just go as per usual until... It turned into a nightmare.
• Devin's parents were caught in a tragic car accident caused by a fuel tank truck explosion. The devastating incident resulted in severe burns for both of his parents, ultimately leading to their untimely deaths. Left with the responsibility of caring for his younger siblings, Devin was overwhelmed with grief and heartache as they navigated through the aftermath of the tragedy.
• Devin struggled with maintaining a healthy work-life balance and constantly felt the pressure of providing for his brothers at a shitty apartment. When the government suggested placing his siblings in the care of relatives, Devin refused and fought for custody, only to ultimately lose. This added even more stress and hardship to his already challenging life in his early 20s. He regularly visits his siblings, of course.
• He made the decision to improve his life by going back to studying and pursuing his dream of following in his father's footsteps and becoming a police officer. He dedicated himself to studying criminology and after years of hard work and sacrifice, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminology. Now, instead of diving straight into the intense world of law enforcement, he has decided to take a more laid-back approach and work as a mall security guard.
