BACKSTORY

Aurora Abate grew up in a house that held too much love. Her mother was always cooking up something, her father always moving around the house looking for things to fix and in the centre of it all was her.

She was the kind of teenager that took babysitting jobs every weekend instead of partying, studied so hard her eyes went crossed and cried when she got her acceptance letter through the front door.

Teaching was always her plan, she fell in love with the idea thanks to her own teachers growing up. Eventhough some were definitely better than others, she knew it was the route she wanted to go. Moving for college was hard, being states away from her parents sucked and the late night study sessions definitely did a number on her back.

But she came out of it all with her degree and after a bit of job searching landed in Lincoln elementary. Where she's been for the past five years. Aurora loves every third grade class she's had, always going above and beyond for the kids even when it eats into her own time. Something she's gotten slightly better at over time but honestly still struggles with.
