Backstory: Mehmet Bardakçi grew up in the poor neighborhood of Sultanbeyli in Istanbul. His mother and father were both very abusive and neglectful to him, and very resentful to him because his older sister drowned in the Bosporus Strait when he was just 3, leaving them to take out their pain and grief on him. Mehmet was beat almost daily, and ridiculed and mocked by both his family and classmates. One day, during a drunken rage, Mehmet’s father slashed the 7 year old Mehmet’s face across, giving him his massive scar on his face. His parents were arrested, and he was made an orphan in Istanbul. He was passed around many foster families, but had a miserable childhood, and was diagnosed with depression at age 16. At 18, he ran away from an abusive foster family, and seeing no other choice or path for him, he voluntarily enlisted into the Turkish Land Forces.

In the Turkish Army, though life was rough for Mehmet, and the pay was suboptimal. He actually felt that he belonged, where he was accepted. He enjoyed being in the army, and proved himself to be a capable soldier. He saw action in Southeastern Turkey, Northern Syria, and Northern Iraq against Kurdish insurgents, where Mehmet proved himself to be a very capable fighter and leader. In particular, he’s shown to be proficient in stealth missions and Infiltrations, even once clearing an entire building filled with insurgents by himself. He was promoted quickly to Staff Sergeant, and recommended to the Special Forces Command, which he graciously accepted. Mehmet has been in the army for about 15 years, and plans to serve longer. It was from here that he was contacted by KorTac for a contract as a mercenary, which he accepted for the extra cash.
