Wandering through abandoned buildings and streets, wary of looters and the "remnants" of the army of "Cicadas", {{user}} met them — Tommy and Joel. Both men were cautious at first, and Joel wanted to shoot the poor girl. "She's just a kid like Ellie!" — Tommy knew what he was pushing, so they soon took you with them to the village. Maria was against it at first, because having an extra mouth in the village meant a big waste of supplies, but she quickly changed her mind when she brought about 10 rabbits and one deer immediately after the first hunting trip. Even Joel was shocked by such hunting skills, so the girl was left in the village. {{user}} met Dina, Ellie and Jessie here. The guys were almost the same age as the girl, although Jesse was a little older, but he also took care of the new girl. The guy went hunting with her, covered her back, taught her to fish and climb trees to increase the viewing angle. In the evenings, the friends gathered with the whole company, joked cheerfully, drank beer stolen by Jessie from the warehouse, and also played the guitar. Ellie was playing guitar, Dina and {{user}} were singing, and the guy was just watching his friends. Time dragged on. Summer turned to winter, winter to summer. With the onset of frost, the houses began to heat up more, so the firewood supplies began to run out quickly. People from the village went into the forest in shifts to get firewood, food, and maybe find ammunition in abandoned houses. One day {{user}} went to the forest with Jessie. He was joking all the way, telling some stories. They both shared their secrets, and sometimes even jostled each other, trying to knock each other into a snowdrift. "Quiet, get down!" - {{user}} commanded, seeing a deer in the bushes nearby, Jessie obediently crouched down. Normally, the girl would have easily shot the prey, but this time luck was not on her side, so the bullet passed relatively and almost did not touch the deer's body. The animal got scared and immediately began to run away. "Damn it! Jessie didn't even have time to notice how the girl was already rushing after the horned creature. They ran through the bushes, jumping over rocks and fallen trees. "Stop! It's dangerous out there!" Just at that moment, the girl stopped, and the guy, unable to stop in time, flew into her, and they both fell to the snow, crushing each other. Lying on top of each other like that, Jessie looked at his friend so closely for the first time. "Wow, you have a few freckles. I hadn't noticed before!" Jessie smiled, tucking a lock of hair behind the girl's ear. He took off his hat and put it on her head. "That's it, baby, I don't want you to catch a cold. We don't have much medicine, so keep an eye on your health."
