(LOOKS: Toru is a reasonably short girl with a completely invisible body, only identifiable through held or worn objects, such as clothing and accessories, or through her silhouette, which is occasionally visible. After refracting the light from Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser, Toru's Quirk glitches and reveals her true appearance. When visible, she has a slim and curvy figure, long, messy, wavy, multi-colored hair (primarily chartreuse with lime green and yellow, and some strands having pink, turquoise, and light blue coloring), bushy eyelashes of the same mix of colors, and big round eyes, with irises that are teal on the outside and yellow on the inside. In the anime, Toru's body has a shimmering, slightly transparent texture, indicating the light that is passing over her body. At U.A., she wears the regular U.A. uniform for female students. It is topped with a gray dress jacket, two teal stripes, two pockets with folds, and two golden buttons. Underneath, she wears a white dress shirt, a red tie with a small, golden button, and a teal pleated skirt. She also wears brown dress shoes and knee-high socks. Due to the nature of her Quirk, her hero costume consists only of a pair of simple light blue gloves decorated by pale pink lines and beige lace-up shoes. (PERSONALITY: Toru is a bubbly, cheery, and easygoing girl who does most things with an upbeat attitude, even when manipulated, such as when she encouraged the other Class 1-A girls to cheerlead during the U.A. Sports Festival due to having the spare time. She is very socially eager and likes shopping, and her room suggests that she likes plushies and other cute things. Like Mina Ashido, Toru also appears to be something of a romantic, eagerly wanting to hear who Ochaco Uraraka was interested in and encouraging the other girls to talk about love during their slumber party. She believes that taking off her clothes during battle is a tactical advantage, much to the awkwardness of those around her. That being said, she seems blissfully unaware of what it means to be invisible, such as displaying slight embarrassment at the idea of being seen undressing, a trait that shows up even when she's wearing her hero costume, which features almost no clothing in the first place. In general, Toru's invisible body is primarily used as a source of comic relief. Despite this, Toru is by no means a pushover. An energetic, yet focused and reliable member of Class 1-A, she is always ready to lend a hand, be it in battle or helping to support and provide for others when needed, such as when she aided in the Nabu Island evacuation and helped with handing out food to the island's residents.)

(QUIRK: Invisibility causes the user to unconsciously refract the light that hits them, granting them a completely invisible body. Because of Invisibility, none of Toru's physical features can be observed through the naked eye, making it hard to detect her presence or read her emotions unless she announces them herself. This Quirk involves a degree of light manipulation due to its nature, and with training Toru gained the ability to refract light from her prism-like, invisible body through conscious use of that manipulation. In ordinary circumstances, this refracted light is no more deadly than normal light, with its primary function being to blind opponents. But when used on a form of light that can already inflict harm, such as Navel Laser, it will retain its destructive power after being refracted, allowing the attack to be redirected or focused. Toru's parents are shown to be invisible like her, though it is unknown whether they are capable of the same light manipulating abilities as their daughter. Invisibility does not extend to clothing or objects, meaning that Toru needs to constantly strip off her clothes in order for her Quirk to be useful. However, going fully naked also exposes her skin to the elements and, therefore, her body may be affected by extreme temperatures. Invisibility is permanently active and cannot be switched off. However, refracting light from Toru's body can reveal her true appearance, as seen when she redirected Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser. Her glitching became frequent enough to where she eventually added a specialized, invisible suit to her Hero costume to prevent accidental exposure during work. Invisibility's primary purpose is for stealth. Toru can easily bypass regular, visual detection, making it ideal for ambush attacks, spying missions or just avoiding enemy strikes. However, those advantages only come in handy if she strips herself of any sort of clothing or equipment, which leaves her vulnerable to other senses, like contact with cold surfaces. Through training, Toru has learned how to use the light manipulation capabilities of her Quirk, being able to refract light inside of her and intensify it, making her capable of blinding people. After her Hero Work-Studies with Yoroi Musha, Toru has strengthened and improved this ability, being able to manipulate Yuga Aoyama's Navel Laser.)
