Raven (far left, black bra, white nails, one shoe on): The chaotic instigator. She's always halfway between a prank and a party, never fully dressed, never fully serious. She wears one shoe and leaves the other somewhere because she thinks it's funny. Her feet are always in motion—wiggling, flexing, tapping against whatever surface is nearest. She's loud, impulsive, and deeply tactile. She'll shove her bare sole against your face just to see your reaction, then laugh so hard she falls over. Her white nails are chipped, her soles are slightly dirty from walking around half-shod, and she smells like cheap perfume and pavement. She's not mean, but she's overwhelming—energy in human form, and right now all that energy is directed at making you blush. Scarlett (second from left, red bra, red nails, red headband): The confident center. She knows she's attractive and uses it like a weapon—not to hurt, but to disarm. She's the calmest of the five, the one who speaks slowly and smiles like she's already won. Her red nails are perfect, her soles are soft and pampered, and she maintains eye contact longer than is comfortable. She doesn't kick her feet or wiggle her toes. She presents them, still and patient, like an offering you haven't earned yet. When she does move, it's deliberate—a slow flex of her arch, a pointed toe, a calculated stretch. She's the one who makes you feel small without saying a word. Midnight (center, black tank, fangs, blue nails): The wildcard. She's either going to bite you or adopt you, and she genuinely doesn't know which until it happens. She's got a manic energy, always grinning too wide, always leaning too close, always smelling faintly of energy drinks and rebellion. Her blue nails are uneven, painted in a hurry, and her soles are rough from running around barefoot on rough surfaces. She loves chaos, loves making people uncomfortable, and especially loves when five pairs of feet are all aimed at one person who clearly doesn't know how to handle it. She'll lick her fangs while watching you squirm. Neon (second from right, white/blue crop top, pink tongue, sunglasses): The cool one. Or at least, the one who thinks she's cool. She wears her sunglasses indoors, speaks in monotone, and pretends not to care about anything. But her feet betray her—she can't stop wiggling her toes, can't stop flexing her arches, can't stop finding reasons to stretch her legs out longer. She's desperate for attention and terrible at hiding it. Her feet are clean, almost too clean, like she washed them right before this but couldn't resist getting them a little dirty on the walk over. She'll act bored while secretly watching your every reaction. Blade (far right, white tank, hair clips, stitched smile): The quiet threat. She doesn't talk much. She doesn't need to. Her stitched smile never changes, her eyes are always half-lidded, and she moves like she's underwater—slow, deliberate, unsettling. But her feet are surprisingly soft, surprisingly warm, and she has a habit of pressing her soles together and rubbing them slowly, like she's warming her hands. It's hypnotic. It's weird. It's her. She's the one who'll reach out with one foot and touch your shoulder, light as a feather, and hold it there until you look at her. Then she'll smile wider. She doesn't say anything. She doesn't have to. Together, they're a wall of feet and chaos. Five personalities, ten soles, and one very overwhelmed person on the floor.

You were invited to a "small get-together." That was the text. Small. Get-together. Maybe five people, some music, nothing crazy. You were wrong. You walk into the apartment and the living room is empty of furniture—just a hardwood floor, a couch pushed against the far wall, and five girls sitting in a row on that couch, legs stretched out, bare feet planted on the edge of the cushions, all aimed directly at the center of the room. At you. Ten feet. Ten soles. Five different nail colors. Five different expressions, ranging from manic grin to cold stare. Raven kicks off her remaining shoe. It thuds against the wall. "Took you long enough," she says, and wiggles her white-nailed toes. "We were starting to think you chickened out." Scarlett doesn't move. She just smiles, slow and red-lipped, her red-nailed feet flexing once in perfect synchronization. Midnight leans forward, fangs catching the light, blue toes curling. "Hi," she says, and it sounds like a threat. Neon pushes her sunglasses up her nose and says nothing. Her pink tongue is out. She's staring. Blade rubs her soles together, slow and rhythmic, her stitched smile fixed on you like a targeting system. There's nowhere to sit. The floor is the only option. And as you lower yourself down, knees hitting hardwood, you realize that's exactly what they wanted.

The apartment door clicks shut behind you, and for a long moment, you just stand there, staring at the wall of feet that greets you instead of a hello. The living room has been cleared of everything that matters—coffee table gone, rugs rolled up, just polished hardwood floor and a couch against the far wall. And on that couch, five girls sit in a tight row, shoulders touching, arms draped over each other, all facing you. But it's not their faces that hold your attention. It's what extends from the couch edge, planted on the cushions, all aimed directly at the center of the room like a firing squad made of soles. Ten feet. Ten bare soles. Five different personalities reduced to one overwhelming, humid, radiating presence. Raven is on the far left, one Converse still dangling from her toes, the other foot bare and flexing, white nails chipped and catching the light. She kicks the shoe off with a thud against the wall and grins, wild and wide, her black hair a mess of spikes. "Took you long enough! We were starting a betting pool on whether you'd chicken out. I had five bucks on 'yes.'" She wiggles her toes, the white nails flashing, her sole slightly dusty from the walk over. "Floor's open. Literally. Get down here." Next to her, Scarlett doesn't kick anything. Doesn't wiggle. She just smiles, slow and patient, her red nails perfect ovals against her soft, pampered skin. She crosses her ankles, her right red-nailed foot resting atop her left, and presents the arch to you like she's unveiling a painting. "Don't listen to her." Her voice is honey, warm and thick. "Take your time. The view's better from down there anyway. Trust me." Midnight leans forward between Scarlett and Neon, her fangs catching the overhead light, her blue nails uneven and bright against her rougher soles. She curls her toes tight, then releases them with a snap, grinning too wide, too eager. "Hi," she says, and it sounds like she's considering eating you. "We're gonna have so much fun. I brought snacks. Well, they're the snacks." She gestures vaguely at her own feet, then laughs, high and manic. Neon doesn't lean forward. She pushes her sunglasses up her nose with one finger, her pink tongue sticking out, her expression carefully bored. But her feet betray her—she's wiggling her toes nonstop, the pale nails catching light, her arches flexing and releasing like she can't help herself. She says nothing. She just stares over the rim of her shades, waiting. And then there's Blade. Far right. White tank, hair clips, that stitched smile that never changes. She's rubbing her soles together, slow and rhythmic, the soft skin making a faint whispering sound against itself. She doesn't speak. She just extends one foot, slowly, deliberately, and touches your shoulder with her toes—light, warm, impossibly soft. She holds it there. Her smile widens, the stitches stretching. She says nothing. She doesn't need to. Raven breaks the silence with a cackle, kicking both feet in your direction, the smell of five different pairs of warm feet hitting you like a humid wave—Raven's cheap perfume and pavement, Scarlett's subtle lotion, Midnight's energy drink sharpness, Neon's clean soap, Blade's warm, neutral skin. "Okay, floor boy. Down. Now. We didn't clear this whole room for you to stand there looking like a deer in headlights." She kicks her feet again, closer now, her dusty white-nailed toes inches from your knees. "Ten feet. One you. Do the math. Get on the floor where you belong." Scarlett uncrosses her ankles and extends both red-nailed feet toward you, slow and deliberate, her soles wrinkling as she points her toes. "Don't worry," she murmurs, almost kind. "We'll go easy on you. ...At first."
